Yeah, Camelot was pretty messed up legend. Arthur married Guinevere, Lancelot loved Guinevere,Arthur pork with Morgan le Fay, Morgan le Fay gave birth to Mordred,Mordred Fight with Arthur. And don't let me start with the first tale of Excalibur
in the actual legend, there is a 3rd sibling named Morgause (not Morgana she has another son named Owthen) She is the mother of Gawain Agravain Gaheris Gareth and of course Mordred The thing is while Gawain Agravain Gaheris and Gareth are her sons with her Husband Mordred is her son with Arthur her half brother The story is pretty similar and tragic Agravain and Modread want Arthur's Throne so they the find Lancelot and Guinevire affair(it was basically an open secret till this point) and try to kill Lancelot while Arthur is away. In the hopes that Arthur out of gratitude will name one of them their successor The plan fails for 2 reasons. Lancelot being Lancelot, and the G boys being huge friends of Lancelot and don't want to actually fight him(Gareth even owes his life to Lancelot) and Agravain dies by Lancelot. Modred hoped that the death of their siblings would be enough to get the G boys(who had a lot influence on the round table) to side with him. But Agravain was a jerk so they don't really care. Then the whole burning Guinivere happened Gawain didn't attent the pyre being sure that Lancelot will save her and he doesn't want to cross blades with his best friend. But Gareth and Gaheris do as escorts to the former Queen, both of them refuse to wear their swords and their iconic armor because taking a woman to her death is not a knightly thing to do. Lancelot then appears and kills everyone who stands between him and his beloved even Gaheris and Gareth who were cheering for him. Gawain goes mad with rage and he chases with Arthur Lancelot all the way to France. Giving the chance to Mordred to userp his father's throne. Then Gawain convinces his uncle to abandon the chase and return to Britan where they face Mordred's Army. Gawain gets mortally wounded while fighting his remaining brother and in his deathbed, he sends a letter to Lancelot pleading him to return. Sadly Lancelot returns too late after the fated final fight between Arthur and Modred happened. Lancelot roams the land and eventually, he goes mad(or under the employment of a witch XD depending on the tale)
Modred is the definition of lost and wasted character potential... She should have been the main Character. Like the Saber Artoria of FSN but for Apocrypha.
For me Mordred and her master were best character in Apocrypha. Ruler and that MC guy (whose name I forgot, since it was not worth remembering) sucked compared to those two. If they made Apocrypha with them as MC I would be satisfied. As it was it was good level of meh with awesome supporting characters.
If we go that way Nero Claudius fits that role better then Mordred. She has arrogance and narcism of Gil while at the same time she has golden heart and kidness of Artoria XD.

Mordred is a truly tragic figure. While pretty much everyone's life is influenced by those around them, they tend to have a fairly substantial core that is theirs and theirs alone, but not so much with Mordred. Almost the entirety of Mordred's existence has been defined by her father's failings and personality flaws and the evil of her mother.
Also it should be pointed out that mordred did not spend her final moment hating or trying to kill arthur all she said was father and a curse on mordred from morgan activated making her swing a fatal blow at arthur after or as she died.
Yet another good video. Must add that Mordred's Mana Burst skill is something she has in common with Artoria. Also, while Clarent Blood Arthur is an Anti-Army Noble Phantasm Excalibur is an Anti-Fortress Noble Phantasm.
yeap, clarent blood arthur is impressive, but it's not on the same level as excalibur. The funny bit in all that, the spear that Arthuria uses do kill Mordred is even more broken than Excalibur, by a few orders of magnitude.

In the wiki, they came up with the excuse for artoria to reject mordred was that she didn't wanted her to suffer the same fate and enjoy a life full of freedom
What even more disappointing about Modred is that no one killed her... Think about it. They killed her off for plot convenience... All the Casters were weak as fuck (unless you include Assassin of Red). The only problems for her would have been both Lancer of Red and Lancer of Black, as she would require only weapons or artifacts to defeat Vlad in this Vampire form and for Karna to remove his armour of invulnerability. If any servant needed plot armour to survive, then it should have been Modred. I also hold the belief that she could have won against both Ruler of Red and Ruler Jean. I wish she chose a new Master like Astolfo did... Watching her fade away was when I realised Apocrypha had lost whatever made it so great. I realised then as Modred lay on the ground, motionless, in pain. That I only watch Fate animes solely for the Saber protagonists and theirs fight scenes. If only Artoria as the enemy Saber, Lancer, or Beserker. A berserk Artoria would have been the closest we could get to Artoria Alter without her going evil and without the grail being corrupted.

This show has a problem of too many characters never having enough time to develop them or just developing the wrong ones in my opinion. Mordred was amazing and deserved more time in spotlight, along with a few other characters.
Well this is why she became a servant in the first place Mordred's rebellion ended in both her and atrias death, the separation of the round table and eventually the downfall of Camelot. She became a servant because of her grief each time she remembered the mountains and mountains of dead bodies on her beloved land, it's regret that made her into a servant who wants the grail.
Its pretty much aurturia fault her kingdom fell because one she thought had to carry all the burdens of the kingdom herself and second not seeing her daughter as her family. Mordred didnt want the throne just to be notice by aurturia. And you hear this by Mordred when she dies/fades away. Seeing that she her moyher/father shouldn't have held all the burdens herself/himself.
Imperial Artoria did take on all the burden but it’s definitely not all her fault... there were a multitude of factors including a sister that was actively plotting her demise

Saber: Jon Snow Rider: Doctor Who Berserker: Wolverine Archer: Green Arrow Castor: Harry Potter Assassin: One of the Assassin's Creed protagonists (I have yet to get into that franchise, forgive me.) or a Ninja Turtle. To clear things up if someone finds this in the future, Merlin was seduced (or something along those lines?) by Morgan le Fay to turn Arturia into a male momentarily to extract sperms from... him I guess, and turn her back to a girl again all using his mahic. The purpose being so that Morgan can create Mordred with King Arthur's DNA since she wants her dethroned basically and for Mordred to take her place. So while technically Morgan and Arturia are her "parents", it's not really accurate simply saying incest. For one Arturia herself wasn't okay with that, and as you saw she doesn't even acknowledge Mordred as her legitimate heir or "son", and two they obviously weren't married. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong :P

Of the 3 "blond sabers" Of Red is the on!y one to.not have a version of the normal dress. She's a tomboy and more aggressive on people not calling her a woman and delicate.
Nah, it's just Artoria having a high bar for the qualifications of King of Camelot. It says a lot that she, who is known to be the ideal King to the point that her people doesn't see her as human anymore for being too perfect (Sir Kay was even fed up with her because apparently when she sleeps, she has Merlin give her lessons even in her dreams to not waste time), wants the Grail to undo her pulling out excalibur because she wasn't "fit" enough to be the King. Like if you're not enough, then who is? Then there's Mordred, hot-headed, easy to rile up and acts on her feelings which was why Camlann even happened in the first place, and also Morgan-dependent, which was a definite negative for Artoria's perfect king qualification since Morgan doesn't give two shits about Camelot and all about her revenge on the Pendragon bloodline instead. Artoria didn't hate Mordred; Mordred just didn't make the cut.
My only complaint with fate apocrypha was the way they screwed a great character like Mordred. A completely non moral bound saber( high moral standards which almost seems to be a requirement to be a saber) who has the skills to completely dominate two servants almost at the same time. Then take a noble Phantasm fortified with two command spells and came out almost uninjured. Then have her fight to a draw a suedo saber wannabe who has no combat experience and somehow has infinity Mana only to have her barely kill a long range assassin/sorcerer that also has a almost infinite supply of Mana. Then she disappears because her master dies. No offense to the people who made the show but almost every other character in this show seems to be able to spam noble Phantasms like no tomorrow with the exception of Mordred. It's like the rules don't apply to everyone but Mordred and her master. Then again I could be missing something. Thoughts? Also if someone mentions the homunculus tanks, by the time Mordred fights the servants of black they had been freed so that is not a valid excuse for the later half of the show were they still spam noble Phantasms.
i really wanted an episode in any of the shows where mordred sees her father/mother, again but they are forced to be on the same team, but get the chance to talk.
What about her true identity revealed in Carnival Phantasm? The mask we knew not of, a better future for her... She is Saber Lion. It only makes sense, we all saw how she was with the cat, we saw Saber Lion and Saber existing together in the same room. The only possible explanation is Mordred came to the world and Shirou and Arturia took to raising her, somewhere along the line getting her those Lion pajamas and, well, the rest is history
Mordred has become possibly my favorite Saber - or at least one of my favorites. Aside from having my favorite color, she’s the type of B.A. I love in these stories. By the way, Mordred, to me, is basically Iron Man with that armor. I love it! =)
mordred is basically "artoria but with more skills with lower/equal ranks" charisma> check, one rank lower instinct>check, still one rank lower mana burst>check, same rank invisible air>check, secret of pedigree is actually better at it since even someone that knew her when she was alive wouldn't be able to recognize her, and even with information you can't figure out her true name. It's also one hell of an armor, tanking noble phantasms (Fran) Excalibur>check, clarent blood Arthur, one rank lower but still hella strong add battle continuation twice the strength, rank-up in endurance, same agility the luck is the lowest stat (more or less 4 times lower), with the mana being one rank lower, same for the magic resistance and the riding is B ranked for both with her B+ strength, she's obviously stronger when it comes to pure physical parameters, and the mana doesn't really matter anyway since lower NP rank means lower mana cost her niche (is it canon?) against Arthur is a little +
also about their parameters it depends on the master a master like rin can make artoria's strength all the way up to A. Parameters also doesn't mean anything even if your strength is lower doesn't literally mean they are better than you. To qualify for the Saber class nowadays is basically you need to have wielded a sword and thats pretty much it. Which to he honest is better because not all sword users were knights which cut out ALOT of qualifiers.

Smashed the kingdom of Sarnor. Dalton Greyjoy "The Red Kraken". Crushed the Lannister fleet, sacked their lands and ruled the Sunset Sea during the Dance of Dragons.

If you don't know why or forgot, Lancelot took a liking to Arthur's wife, Guinivere, and so did she, Mordred stormed the room of Guinevere to which they found Lancelot in it, when Arthur found out about this he declared war against his own best friend, Lancelot. At the time Mordred wanted to become a knight for Arthur, so he said that King Arthur had died on his battle against Lancelot

Mordred is a truly tragic figure.
While pretty much everyone's life is influenced by those around them, they tend to have a fairly substantial core that is theirs and theirs alone, but not so much with Mordred. Almost the entirety of Mordred's existence has been defined by her father's failings and personality flaws and the evil of her mother.

The funny bit in all that, the spear that Arthuria uses do kill Mordred is even more broken than Excalibur, by a few orders of magnitude.
Gae Bolg is a anti-army? I thought it was anti-personnel as you only see Gae Bolg targeting one person and only affects one person, not the surrounding area.

What even more disappointing about Modred is that no one killed her... Think about it. They killed her off for plot convenience...
All the Casters were weak as fuck (unless you include Assassin of Red). The only problems for her would have been both Lancer of Red and Lancer of Black, as she would require only weapons or artifacts to defeat Vlad in this Vampire form and for Karna to remove his armour of invulnerability. If any servant needed plot armour to survive, then it should have been Modred. I also hold the belief that she could have won against both Ruler of Red and Ruler Jean. I wish she chose a new Master like Astolfo did... Watching her fade away was when I realised Apocrypha had lost whatever made it so great.
I realised then as Modred lay on the ground, motionless, in pain. That I only watch Fate animes solely for the Saber protagonists and theirs fight scenes. If only Artoria as the enemy Saber, Lancer, or Beserker. A berserk Artoria would have been the closest we could get to Artoria Alter without her going evil and without the grail being corrupted.

This show has a problem of too many characters never having enough time to develop them or just developing the wrong ones in my opinion. Mordred was amazing and deserved more time in spotlight, along with a few other characters.

Mordred didnt want the throne just to be notice by aurturia. And you hear this by Mordred when she dies/fades away. Seeing that she her moyher/father shouldn't have held all the burdens herself/himself.

To clear things up if someone finds this in the future, Merlin was seduced (or something along those lines?) by Morgan le Fay to turn Arturia into a male momentarily to extract sperms from... him I guess, and turn her back to a girl again all using his mahic. The purpose being so that Morgan can create Mordred with King Arthur's DNA since she wants her dethroned basically and for Mordred to take her place. So while technically Morgan and Arturia are her "parents", it's not really accurate simply saying incest. For one Arturia herself wasn't okay with that, and as you saw she doesn't even acknowledge Mordred as her legitimate heir or "son", and two they obviously weren't married.

Nah, it's just Artoria having a high bar for the qualifications of King of Camelot. It says a lot that she, who is known to be the ideal King to the point that her people doesn't see her as human anymore for being too perfect (Sir Kay was even fed up with her because apparently when she sleeps, she has Merlin give her lessons even in her dreams to not waste time), wants the Grail to undo her pulling out excalibur because she wasn't "fit" enough to be the King. Like if you're not enough, then who is?
Then there's Mordred, hot-headed, easy to rile up and acts on her feelings which was why Camlann even happened in the first place, and also Morgan-dependent, which was a definite negative for Artoria's perfect king qualification since Morgan doesn't give two shits about Camelot and all about her revenge on the Pendragon bloodline instead. Artoria didn't hate Mordred; Mordred just didn't make the cut.

My only complaint with fate apocrypha was the way they screwed a great character like Mordred. A completely non moral bound saber( high moral standards which almost seems to be a requirement to be a saber) who has the skills to completely dominate two servants almost at the same time. Then take a noble Phantasm fortified with two command spells and came out almost uninjured. Then have her fight to a draw a suedo saber wannabe who has no combat experience and somehow has infinity Mana only to have her barely kill a long range assassin/sorcerer that also has a almost infinite supply of Mana. Then she disappears because her master dies. No offense to the people who made the show but almost every other character in this show seems to be able to spam noble Phantasms like no tomorrow with the exception of Mordred. It's like the rules don't apply to everyone but Mordred and her master. Then again I could be missing something. Thoughts? Also if someone mentions the homunculus tanks, by the time Mordred fights the servants of black they had been freed so that is not a valid excuse for the later half of the show were they still spam noble Phantasms.

What about her true identity revealed in Carnival Phantasm? The mask we knew not of, a better future for her... She is Saber Lion. It only makes sense, we all saw how she was with the cat, we saw Saber Lion and Saber existing together in the same room. The only possible explanation is Mordred came to the world and Shirou and Arturia took to raising her, somewhere along the line getting her those Lion pajamas and, well, the rest is history

You forgot to mention the splitting/disbanding of the Knights of the Round Table thanks a certain individual, Lancelot. If you don't know why or forgot, Lancelot took a liking to Arthur's wife, Guinivere, and so did she, Mordred stormed the room of Guinevere to which they found Lancelot in it, when Arthur found out about this he declared war against his own best friend, Lancelot. At the time Mordred wanted to become a knight for Arthur, so he said that King Arthur had died on his battle against Lancelot
