OK for any body who is thinking Arjuna & the pandavas are an asshole and that kunti had karna after she was married Well many of the things aninewz just told are plain wrong I am an Indian and I love both Karna and Arjuna because I grew up while my grandmother told me the Mahabharata So here I will correct some of the main points that he messed up 1. Kunti didn't have karna after she was married- kunti was a very good person and so she one day helped (before marriage) and the sage(who was actually a god) gave her a spell that allowed her to have a child from whichever god she used the spell with the sun god as a catalyst which gave her karna But cause kunti at the moment was not married a child would cause problems for her parents (OK again she swept karna in river for her families status and not herself)so she did what she did 2.Arjuna was no asshole-the one who tried to steal the armor of karna was not Arjuna but Indra. Indra is king of gods and is represented as a scardy king who dosent want anybody to steal his throne, simply put he is an asshole But kinda good because he is a god nonetheless, Also while Arjuna a rivalrie against karna he didn't hate at first he was kinda disappointed at the fact that karna was a lower class who shouldnt hold weapons because in India there was a cast system and Karnas was from a cast that shouldnt hold any weapons It was more of a kind of care Though he started hating karna when karna killed Arjuna's son(yeah he had a son p.s.-for all u Arjuna fangirls Arjuna and all other pandavas married a single women draupadi(I forgot how her name was spelled) I kinda want her to be summoned as a berserker in fgo) 3.krauvas and pandavas were cousins, their fathers were brothers and they known as kauravas and pandavas because there fathers kaurav(I think I forgot his name) and pandu respectively 4.duryodhna the boy who took in karna in his family he took karna in because he wanted to use his skills (he was an open minded asshole) Also he made karna a king to pissoff pandavas P.s. duryodhna's name means an evil worrier ( I want duryodhna to be summoned as a girl in fgo because I kinda want it, she would probably be a berserker and would be pretty much evil Achilles but her Achilles heel would be her butt because wtf not thats actually true though duryodhnas weakness after he got immortal was his butt)

Karna was the only Servant who interested me from his first appearance, save for Shakespeare. I immediately took an interest in him(partly because of his dubbed VA, Chris Niosi) and learned a significant amount of Hindu mythology thanks to him. Karna summoned as an Archer would be unstoppable as the main ability of his Vijaya Bow (Vijaya translates to "victory" IIRC) is that it guarantees his victory regardless of the circumstances.
Or the rider version Because it includes everything that he would have as an archer+the chariot of sun surya pulled by 7 horses with different colors (yeah the rainbow) if I'm not mistaken

In fate/ apparently what people believe can change a servant. So if he was summoned by someone who believed he could be a rider, he probably would have been Rider.

@@asadsdomain118 Karna's strongest weapon is supposed to be Brahmastra which by Fate logic would be anti-universe. It just annihilates whatever it's caster wishes to destroy. Only a weapon of its same caliber can stop it. And those weapons would be main weapons of Supreme deities like Shiva and Vishnu. For other myths, it would be the weapons of Primordial gods. So yeah, I don't think EA can match that.

Karna's Specialty is Archery but he's also Multi-Talented in many ways. Aside from being well verse in handling a spear, he can also move fast enough to surprise someone like Achilles & catch him off guard.
I have always loved mythology ever since I was young, that is why I love the Fate series, of course the amazing storytelling of Zero and UBW also helped. Anyway, I am ashamed to say that, despite my love for mythology, Karna went under my radar and the first time I heard about him was actually from Apocrypha. I remember the first time I saw him I thought “Whoa, a hero I never learned about?! I need to look this guy up.” After learning about him Karna quickly became one of my favorite mythological heroes, I loved how his armor made him virtually invincible, and spears are my favorite type of weapon so him having Vasavi Shakti just made things even better (although he never actually used it in his legend and if I recall it was actually described as more of a dart rather than a spear.) Either way, the minute I saw Karna appear in the anime I just knew he would be one of my favorite characters of all time.
He did use the vasavi Shakti in the mythology To put an end to his half-brother's (again a demi-god) son, Ghatotkach. Ghatotkacha's mother was a monster. So half-half god/ human and half monster Gave him immense power and dark arts. He could become a giant on command as well. As he wrecked havoc during the war people desperately approached Karna to end it. Karna was saving the vasavi Shakti for Arjuna. But after desperation from everyone used it on Ghatotkach that ended his life. That's how Karna lost to Arjuna

One Correction Karna did use Vasvi Shakti, he was forced to use it on Ghatotkacha who was the son of Bhima(Son of Kunti from the Wind god) and Hidimba(A demoness).

I'm guessing Karna in the nasuverse used some other weapon he was saving for Arjuna (i.e. bhargavastra, nagastra, pasupata, indrasjaha, brahmastra) against Ghatotkach. The reason he used it in the real Mahabharata was because everyone asked him to do it. Arjun vs Karna also went a bit different than in the actual myth.
Not really, it was clear story-telling wise that VS was implied superior. Krishna couldn't even sleep properly because he'd always see Karna with the dart in his nightmares. Brahmastra was also used by Karna when he overpowered Parshuram's curse with his mental prowess against Arjuna, this is why he has an eyebeam in the nasuverse. But it was tanked by Arjuna's indestructible chariot. People just look down on Vasavi Shakti because they look down on Indra.
I think it was said that the only reason you lose a Holy Grail War while having Karna as a servant is that you can't supply him enough mana, the dude is busted.
Of course, that's not including the other Servants that can hang with him. You know Cu Chulainn, Gawain, Lancelot, King Arthur, Gilgamesh, Enkidu, Arjuna, Heracles, Pale Rider. Honestly the Fifth HGW had a lot of stacked Servants. And this isn't to say that all of these guys would win against Karna just that it's not a guarantee that he would win.
Actually in the actual myths Karna did use Vasavi Shakity Ghatotkacha the son of Bhima one of the Pandavas. I don't know if that happned in the fate altered lore but I know that Vasavi Shakti was used against Ghatotkacha because nobody could defeat him during the night time.

another thing is that according to legend karna just directs vashavi shakthi to kill a person by telling the victim's name , the rest will be handled by the arrow itself (neither shields nor distance can counter that attack) so if karna decides to kill u with that, then its certain death for you
3:50 Avalon is more OP than Achilles' Shield, it seals it's user in the realm of the fairies rendering him/her completely immune to all harm no matter what. The thing with Achilles' Shield was that when rider came she shifted the target of the attack to the shield itself, Vasavi Shakti have the power to completely obliterate it's target, and when she came with the shield it became the new target instead of Sieg.
Steven Chico Avalon not really a shield but it kind of teleports you somewhere else right? So it’s not blocking it but dodging it, which means no matter how powerful the ability is it just didn’t hit the target like seen at the end of fate route?
@Nasuverse Fan i was taking into account that Saber would have enough mana to go wild just like Karna had, we can safely assume that the mages from Apocrypha has waaay more mana supply for their servants to use and even more useful methods to give them more mana. The thing with Saber, actually all my favorite characters from fate is that they are nerfed for some reason. Arthuria will never have Avalon back for the looks of it, the closest to it was against Gil and still that was only the copy Shiro made. Her mana supply isn't good, even when she's with Rin, and when she had a unlimited mana supply Excalibur can't be used, instead she uses Excalibur Morgan, why can't we just see her with a fucking unlimited mana supply and with Avalon!? T.T And Karna is cursed so he won't remember his most powerfull NP when he most needs it. That's really lame.

I absolutely love Karna. I've always been so mad that he was beaten in such a way... literally. It took a master with the power of a servant, with like 2 order seals(forgot their name) another servants noble panthasm, ANOTHER servant, and ANOTHER sword. my mans is op. Karna So far the only servant officially stated on par with The King of Heroes in Fate material While other from narrative His Kavacha Kundala can reduce any dmg to 90% and combined with Mana Burst(Flame), He can raise his defence enough to tank A+ noble phantasm without taking any damage. Just like how he tank Balmung from Sieg (tho he get blown away because the force is too strong) He also has high regeneration. Every servant has regeneration ability but Karna surpass them, atleast his regeneration is equal to Siegfried + Healing magecraft from Gordos. This is another reason why he can take 10.000 blows from Siegfried in one night or 2000 stakes from Vlad before he get implaed inside His divinity boost his defence when he face sun-attribute divinity servant. In FGO 5th singulary, He survive Cu Alter's Gae Blog which is rank B++(and thats higher than A+) With his armor+MB(F), pretty much any sun demigod servant cant touch him Not to mention he has weird asspull indian willpower, make him survive Gilgamesh's attack even tho he already a zombie Survive from A+ Galatine in his weakness state make no sence neither Its kinda funny he died from simple trust lol Probably he has no reason to use his willpower lmao Edit: after FGO material IV come out, it seem only Karna and Enkidu officially on the same level with Gilgamesh. It's more of a "he's a really strong character" rather than "he is equal to Gilgamesh". Since Gilgamesh outclasses him in destructive capability, defensive capabilities and tactical/intelligence aspects.
common fate excuse for non-race matching colors is Demi-god-hood or just Demi-human-hood in general... also Karna `s armor probably reduces the effectiveness of UV-rays by 90% or Sungods and Sons of Sun gods are completely immune to UV rays since they are usually portrayed beaming sunlight

In actual mythology, Karma Armor's divinity was that he just cannot be wounded at all. Invulnerable. It did not matter where the attack comes from, or what class it is. Literally nothing could touch karna. And that is why gods had to plot to take that armor away. And btw kawacha literally means Armor, it isn't a specific name.
He literally in Mahabharata war moved arjuna's chariot 3 inches which had Hanuman (monkey god) ,krishna avatar of Vishnu (supreme god) ,which tells us how powerful he was
Ok so I get this question from a lot of people at school and I really don’t know how to answer it. The question is “ Is Karna stronger than Gilgamesh” and honestly I’m open for discussion here but I believe that Karna wouldn’t have to use that many noble phantasms against Gilgamesh and here’s why. First off I’ll start with for 1 his armor can’t be broken just like in the show and your explanation about who he is when he was attacked my Dracula with his noble phantasm the stakes didn’t penetrate Karnas body and impale him like they should have instead they reflected off a bit. Another reason is that he blocked Balmung with just his armor keep in mind that noble phantasm is near Excliber in strength but a little off. He has the power to summon flaming spears from absolute nothing like he did in his fight with Seig. He was also able to honeslty nuke the whole fighting area with his eye. And last but not least he spawned a SUN like an actual sun and not only that he was able to fire it at Seig at lighting speeds. And honestly the ONLY way that I see Gilgamesh standing any type of chance against any of that is when he lives to see him spawn the sun because when Karna spawns the sun it burns up his armor in the process which would be the optional time for a surprise attack from Gilgamesh. But next on we have Gilgamesh as one of the more noted Fate characters by just how op he is he isn’t to me strong ENOUGH to beat Karna but let’s get into his abilities. Gilgamesh like Karna has some pretty unbreakable armor the only times we have seen him killed are when his armor is off. He fires noble phantasms at servants at lighting speed hoping to overwhelm them with the weapons (Hense how he was able to be Heracles even with his lives). He has godlike chains that if he feels that he has to use holds enemy servants still and vulnerable for how long he needs. And last but not least he has Eva. Call it what you wish but Eva with one swing is able to break reality Marbles( like against Rider in Fate Zero) and if he wanted to could destroy the entire world with it. So my reasoning with all of this I conclude that the fight would go something like this, neither of them fight with full power off start then Gilgamesh realizes that Karna isnt the average servant and decides to pull out Eva and Karna backs up to Counter his attack which would be spawning an sun Gilgamesh now overwhelmed by Karnas power Swings Eva wildly trying to destroy the sun but it wouldn’t work because now Karna shoots the sun at him and Gilgamesh loses the fight. The reason I say they wouldn’t fight at full power off start because for Gilgamesh he has a horrible habit of not taking fights seriously which leads to his downfall everytime. And Karna just seeks for a fair fight there are also other things to take in consideration because Karnas normal Master didn’t have the energy for him to go all out like that the reason he was able to was because of Shiro and his damn near infinite energy Gilgamesh on the other hand does have s lot of energy but still does have a cap unlike at the time Karna was at full power. But anyway that is why I believe Karna could 100% beat Gilgamesh
Yh but it's said that Vasavi Shakti might have a chance at beating Ea. Not a guarantee. It's also said that Ea is the strongest noble phantasm in the fate universe so how likely Vasavi Shakti beats Ea isn't as high as you may believe.
I got to go with gilgamesh wining this just his gate and it's collection of np would over power karna, for one you state that karna strongest attack is on par with Excalibur, but in the fate series gilgamesh block Excalibur with his hands with his gold armor and only to defend his head, it would need to be on par with a avalons boost to get past it, and the reason gate of battalion is more then enough is because it holds all the treasures of the world both mortal and divine, and just like Excalibur in the fate series it holds the original of the weapons and armor of heros, this means karna armor and weapon as they were part of his legend, the only nps he doesn't have is one that are created from the legend such as Hercules 9 lives as it was made from the legend of his 9 trials. Karna's armor is a blessing he got at birth in his legend which means it was made in the legend which would make it's original spawn in gilgamesh vault same for his spear from indra, they were not made/form from the legend but in it. And to talk about ea it is the weapon form to split the heavens, earth, and underworld, or void, I'm not sure on the third, which is what the 3 spinning rings represent, that power should easily destroy a sun.

Second ea at full power is just equal to excaliber without 13 seals and vs of karna is above excaliber in destruction. Third Gil dosnt have all of the noble phantsam even if he had he dosnt know how to use all of them( Don't ask me why it's stated in the novels)

Only the power of Avalon the heaven of kings could over power ea, another example is kid gil in berserk form in fate Prisma, i believe use one thousand cut by using the bow that Heracles use to shoot the hydra head in fate lore. so he can use np from other heroes, the only nps that are not in the gate are one create from the legend, such as Heracles 9 lives which he got from his nine labors, any np that are told of in the legend are spawn in to the gate of Babylonia, an example of this is the flying ship he use in fate zero, it was original a drawing a random child had made and imagine but because he did it now exist in the gate of babylonia

Also, his chariot was divine and he had bow (gifted by his guru and had capability of death itself) (only worthy could uplift it like thor's hammer) One shot from that bow = death (divinely powerful). It said that a arrow shot from that bow made sound of thunder.
Given that Vasavi Shakti is said to be able to "extinguish any one existence" and that Gilgamesh has a shield that has blocked Excalibur without a scratch on it I'd say that Gilgamesh could use that and Vasavi Shakti would destroy the shield but leave Gilgamesh unharmed. At leat that's what I think would happen.

The moment I saw the lancer of the red I knew I love this character but when I came to acknowledge that this very character is none other that Karna.... who is actually my BEST character from Mahabharata.... I was like, “Oh my fucking fan on the ceiling!!!” My excitement blew beyond horizons. 🙃
Gil V/S Karna u say?? 🤔 I am quite disappointed though because Gil was actually selfish in his lifetime according to the mythology. Yes he was extremely powerful but he was arrogant, bossy and always thought highly of himself. U all know his story of immortality right? Despite being so powerful he feared death 💀 which is somewhat cowardly. But Karna on the other hand was no doubt very powerful too but he was also kind, generous, giving, just, noble and humble. He didn’t fear death. Because if he did then he would not give away his armour and earrings knowing that it was Indra disguised 🥸 as a sage. I don’t think we should compare someone as noble as Karna with Gil who has a record of being selfish till his last breath. P.S: no offence to all the Gilgamesh fans. Karna summoned as archer class would be unstoppable with his huge arsenal of arrows. Bhramasthra is not a laser but one of the most powerful arrows that exist it is said if two of these colloid the entire universe would be destroyed. Another fact about Karna is that he was cursed to forget the spell to activate bhramasthra when he needs it the most. He also had another powerful arrow in his arsenal the nagasthra. Arjuna escaped his death because lord Krishna has lowered the chariot with his magic just before the nagasthra(used by Karna) pierced Arjuna's head making it destroy Arjuna's crown which was given to him by his father Indra the king of gods. Karna did not die even after being shot by Arjuna's arrows repeatedly as all the good deed he had done were protecting him(Karna was very generous as he would give one anything he/she asked for.). Knowing this lord Krishna disguises himself as a poor bhramin and asks Karna to give all the good deeds he had done to him and after doing so Karna dies in the battlefield.

Wanna defeat karna ask something from even if it includes him giving up his life he will give it in charity or do him a favor and he will never forget. True, but you have to remember that Gilgamesh is actually a shit-tier fighter who relies solely on the raw strength of his Noble Phantasms. In a fight against Karna, who could probably shrug off Gate of Babylon like he did Vlad's spikes, I doubt Gil would even last long enough to consider whether or not it's worth using Ea.
Gate of Babylon is merely a minion clearing creep machine for Gil. His real weapon is only meant for the strongest of heroes ever, and even then they'd be no match for Ea. The only person he'd ever openly use Ea against is Enkidu, something he has mentioned before. He only used it against Rider because he felt to oblige him with honor, and against Saber just to prove how outmatched she is.
Many people here are saying that Gilgamesh with ea can easily defeat karna. Well I have also read about karna on fate wiki but if I had to say anything about the karna then it is that he is nerfed by a thousand or even million times. Yea you may have read about nobel phantasms on fate wiki or on even Wikipedia about karna and his powers but as an indian and someone who directly read Mahabharata. How karna is nerfed in fate series? First kavach and kundela, they are nerfed so that they can be used in game, like giving the armor a property of decreasing the attack to it's 10% but the real armor was so strong that nothing could penetrate it. With his armor on karna could absorb each and every attack, he could not be killed by disease or by sinking. No attack worked on him. Second, brahmastra is an arrow not some laser eye!! And brahmastra is said to be strong enough to not just destroy earth but whole universe hence brahm=universe and astra=weapon . It was arrow that is after firing goes into outer space and absorb all the cosmic energy required to destroy the opponent. Therfore it can be used to just destroy a country, continent or even the universe. Third, I don't know about brahmastra kundela it is something unique to fate series but since it is a combination of karna's energy and brahmastra it should be stronger than the original one. Fourth, vasvi sakhti it is a weapon that can kill anyone literally anyone . Though there are 2 condition first the target should be on battlefield second it should be used to kill only 1 opponent. Note:- vasvi shakti is alot stronger than brahmastra(which can destroy universe) but it does not destroy the surrounding area or anyone else. I.E one is nuke and the other is one hit kill attack. Nasu verse has nerfed karna alot. Now tell me even if some one can rip space time continuum can he destroy an armor that cannot be destroyed and survive attacks that can one shot most gods or stop an attack that can destroy whole universe? As for his raw strength? Karna without his nobel phantasm and attacks that can destroy universe still is stronger a godly army.
For those who want to know how did karna died after being so op? He gave his armor to the thunder god indra, who came to him as a saint. The great hero had three curses on him. First he will forget all the knowledge he has and will lose all the powers, everything he learned from his teacher, when he will need them most. i.e in the time of his death. Second, his chariot will get stuck in earth when his death will come near. And no matter what he won't be able to get it out. The earth goddess herself was holding his chariot. Third, he will be alone when he will die. i.e there will be no one who could helped him. Arjuna once asked lord Krishna why karna has to give his armor and have to had all those curses. To which lord Krishna replied that if he had not gave up his armor and had all those curses he couldn't be killed by any mortal or even demi God's. When all the curses came true and time to die came near. Arjuna fired an arrow that pierced his heart. But karna still didn't die, dharma(goodness) goddess was not letting karna die. Goddess of goodness and kindness said to lord Krishna that karna gave everything he had to the poor, even if he is walking on the path of evil, he is the Nobelest person I have ever seen and thus I just can't let him die. It is said that if you do good good will happen to you. And that was the good happening to karna, he was not dying. And not just this but it is said that if you do good then your future will bright and in the next reincarnation you will live better life.

And karna gave everything, his life, chance for a bright afterlife, chance for a bettet incarnation, he gave all of his fortune to lord Krishna so that he could be killed. All the curses in his life were supposed to be one time thing. Like the curses will only come to effect once in his lifetime and that is when he is in his most dire time. That time happened to be his final fight with Arjuna. After that, all the curses lost their effects (although he was dead anyway). So yeah, when he was brought back to life by Holy Grail, he shouldn't have any curses. This is just so unfair for him.
Gilgamesh if serious is the strongest servant but he isnt the strongest being in the fate verse. For exmaple Grandclass Servants woulds till outmatch him in some ways. So Gil is stronger than Karma when he would fight him simply because of his treasure.
We never saw a fight between them so we don't know who will win although chains of heaven has a sure chance of making him totally immobile due to his high divinity but that aside, he is totally shoulder to shoulder with Gilgamesh even just in his lancer form, I can't comprehend the Archer form since that would be totally Overpowered even in Nasuverse. In the Visual Novel, Arturia took EA head on in the last fight with just her sword in her hand to get close to him in the Fate route. The sword might have helped defend herself, so Karna's armour can also tolerate that plus he also has his VS. All in all it's still 50/50 but it's true that Gil can never underestimate him as he did with Shirou because EXTELLA just showed that.

Cake# gilgamesh doesn't need to know it for it to exist in his treasury remember that many weapons including the sword caliburn was based upon exist in his treasury even though there is no historical account that he himself seen or knew the sword when he was alive. The thing to remember is that all heroic spirits' abilities are directed by their legend and in his case his legend(at least according to the Nasuverse) state that he had all the treasures of the world and is the model for every heroes that followed. Also many of the weapons in his treasury are nameless being that no actual hero wielded them(with some special cases) but...all the weapons in his treasury are someway or another the original or the basis for the weapons of other heroic spirits and I can't see a reason why this won't apply to Karna when it applied to Artoria.

Avalon`s defense sounds like becoming a ghost and the attack goes through you so it should work against any NP that needs to hit its target (Technically it "takes its user to Avalon" whatever that means... maybe that means its weak against attacks that instantly track its target to other planes of existance?)

Quick question. You said that he could only use Brahmastra Kundala when he drops his armor and deploys Vasavi Shakti. So how did he use it before he removed his golden armor? He was even about to use it against Vlad just before he left, and still had his golden armor on.
Achilles is probably the second strongest servant we have seen in any fate anime adaptation. I really think he would be able to beat Karna if only by a slim margin
GonAdventures as long as achiles's heel is safe its pretty even i suppose. Achilles also seems to take unreasonable amount of hits from enemies even its pretty clear he's fast enough to dodge. Id like to see achilles win but i think Karna would be on a slight advantage at full power, it kinda depends on karna's master.

You got missed one crucial information. Indra did bestow vasavi shakti to Karna that could potentially kill Arjuna. So Pandavas sent Ghatothkach, the son of Bhima (one of the Pandavas) to fight against Karna, who was so strong that the only way to kill Ghatothkach was to use the Vasavi Shakti (one time weapon that returns to Indra after it's use). So the Pandavas sacrificed one of their children so that Arjuna didn't die of Vasavi Shakti the next day when Karna and Arjuna finally faced off. Also Karna had another curse that at the final hour of a life threatening battle he would forget all of his teachings because he hadlied to a master warrior into teaching him who later cursed him when he got to know the truth.
There is one thing you forgot to put here, His Bow Vijaya ( It was originally Lord Shiva's "The Hindu god of destruction and creation") If only he was summoned in archer class,

His Armor of Fafnir only protect him from B rank or lower and make make higher rank reduced by B rank Which mean A rank only deal E rank The problem is Vasavi Shakti is EX and its clearly stated its enough to kill gods, so Sieg(fried) cant survive that
But let's all agree on something; Karna is considered to be one of the S-Class Tier Servant along with Gilgamesh and Achilles. ....But if we add Merlin into the equation, is a whole another level.

Well many of the things aninewz just told are plain wrong
I am an Indian and I love both Karna and Arjuna because I grew up while my grandmother told me the Mahabharata
So here I will correct some of the main points that he messed up
1. Kunti didn't have karna after she was married- kunti was a very good person and so she one day helped (before marriage) and the sage(who was actually a god) gave her a spell that allowed her to have a child from whichever god she used the spell with the sun god as a catalyst which gave her karna
But cause kunti at the moment was not married a child would cause problems for her parents (OK again she swept karna in river for her families status and not herself)so she did what she did
2.Arjuna was no asshole-the one who tried to steal the armor of karna was not Arjuna but Indra.
Indra is king of gods and is represented as a scardy king who dosent want anybody to steal his throne, simply put he is an asshole
But kinda good because he is a god nonetheless,
Also while Arjuna a rivalrie against karna he didn't hate at first he was kinda disappointed at the fact that karna was a lower class who shouldnt hold weapons because in India there was a cast system and Karnas was from a cast that shouldnt hold any weapons

AniNews actually karna did use vasavi Shakti when we was alive the reason why Gilgamesh do not posses it in gate of babylon is because it is a divine weapon such like Ea so it has no prototype that Gil could colect or find the same aplies to Avalon

It took 4 curses/mishaps to kill Karna in the war
1- He was cursed that on most important time in his life the earth would betray him, and in the war his chariot wheel got stuck in the ground.
2 - He was cursed that when needed the most he will forget the knowledge to use Brhamastra, and he wasn't able to use it in the war.
3- He gave his mother a promise to not kill rest of her sons except arjuna
4- Indra took his kavacha and Kundala (Armor) from him
Despite all this Arjuna was only able to kill Karna when he was out of his Chariot and was trying to take out the wheel of his chariot completely defenseless.

I immediately took an interest in him(partly because of his dubbed VA, Chris Niosi) and learned a significant amount of Hindu mythology thanks to him. Maybe to other servants, but from what I've seen Gilgamesh's Ea would obliterate him. According to the Fate series it pretty much has the ability to rip a void in space in time, in which only Gilgamesh's own ability would allow him to survive.

Karna summoned as an Archer would be unstoppable as the main ability of his Vijaya Bow (Vijaya translates to "victory" IIRC) is that it guarantees his victory regardless of the circumstances.

Only a weapon of its same caliber can stop it. And those weapons would be main weapons of Supreme deities like Shiva and Vishnu. For other myths, it would be the weapons of Primordial gods. So yeah, I don't think EA can match that.

Aside from being well verse in handling a spear, he can also move fast enough to surprise someone like Achilles & catch him off guard.
I have always loved mythology ever since I was young, that is why I love the Fate series, of course the amazing storytelling of Zero and UBW also helped. Anyway, I am ashamed to say that, despite my love for mythology, Karna went under my radar and the first time I heard about him was actually from Apocrypha. I remember the first time I saw him I thought “Whoa, a hero I never learned about?! I need to look this guy up.” After learning about him Karna quickly became one of my favorite mythological heroes, I loved how his armor made him virtually invincible, and spears are my favorite type of weapon so him having Vasavi Shakti just made things even better (although he never actually used it in his legend and if I recall it was actually described as more of a dart rather than a spear.) Either way, the minute I saw Karna appear in the anime I just knew he would be one of my favorite characters of all time.

I'm guessing Karna in the nasuverse used some other weapon he was saving for Arjuna (i.e. bhargavastra, nagastra, pasupata, indrasjaha, brahmastra) against Ghatotkach. The reason he used it in the real Mahabharata was because everyone asked him to do it.
Arjun vs Karna also went a bit different than in the actual myth.
Brahmastra should be stronger than VA speaking mythologically, and Brahmadanda even greater than that.
Not really, it was clear story-telling wise that VS was implied superior. Krishna couldn't even sleep properly because he'd always see Karna with the dart in his nightmares. Brahmastra was also used by Karna when he overpowered Parshuram's curse with his mental prowess against Arjuna, this is why he has an eyebeam in the nasuverse. But it was tanked by Arjuna's indestructible chariot. People just look down on Vasavi Shakti because they look down on Indra.
I think it was said that the only reason you lose a Holy Grail War while having Karna as a servant is that you can't supply him enough mana, the dude is busted.
Of course, that's not including the other Servants that can hang with him. You know Cu Chulainn, Gawain, Lancelot, King Arthur, Gilgamesh, Enkidu, Arjuna, Heracles, Pale Rider. Honestly the Fifth HGW had a lot of stacked Servants. And this isn't to say that all of these guys would win against Karna just that it's not a guarantee that he would win.
Actually in the actual myths Karna did use Vasavi Shakity Ghatotkacha the son of Bhima one of the Pandavas. I don't know if that happned in the fate altered lore but I know that Vasavi Shakti was used against Ghatotkacha because nobody could defeat him during the night time.

The thing with Achilles' Shield was that when rider came she shifted the target of the attack to the shield itself, Vasavi Shakti have the power to completely obliterate it's target, and when she came with the shield it became the new target instead of Sieg.

@Nasuverse Fan i was taking into account that Saber would have enough mana to go wild just like Karna had, we can safely assume that the mages from Apocrypha has waaay more mana supply for their servants to use and even more useful methods to give them more mana.
The thing with Saber, actually all my favorite characters from fate is that they are nerfed for some reason. Arthuria will never have Avalon back for the looks of it, the closest to it was against Gil and still that was only the copy Shiro made. Her mana supply isn't good, even when she's with Rin, and when she had a unlimited mana supply Excalibur can't be used, instead she uses Excalibur Morgan, why can't we just see her with a fucking unlimited mana supply and with Avalon!? He also has high regeneration. Every servant has regeneration ability but Karna surpass them, atleast his regeneration is equal to Siegfried + Healing magecraft from Gordos.
This is another reason why he can take 10.000 blows from Siegfried in one night or 2000 stakes from Vlad before he get implaed inside

Ok so I get this question from a lot of people at school and I really don’t know how to answer it. The question is “ Is Karna stronger than Gilgamesh” and honestly I’m open for discussion here but I believe that Karna wouldn’t have to use that many noble phantasms against Gilgamesh and here’s why. First off I’ll start with for 1 his armor can’t be broken just like in the show and your explanation about who he is when he was attacked my Dracula with his noble phantasm the stakes didn’t penetrate Karnas body and impale him like they should have instead they reflected off a bit. Another reason is that he blocked Balmung with just his armor keep in mind that noble phantasm is near Excliber in strength but a little off. He has the power to summon flaming spears from absolute nothing like he did in his fight with Seig. He was also able to honeslty nuke the whole fighting area with his eye. And last but not least he spawned a SUN like an actual sun and not only that he was able to fire it at Seig at lighting speeds. And honestly the ONLY way that I see Gilgamesh standing any type of chance against any of that is when he lives to see him spawn the sun because when Karna spawns the sun it burns up his armor in the process which would be the optional time for a surprise attack from Gilgamesh. But next on we have Gilgamesh as one of the more noted Fate characters by just how op he is he isn’t to me strong ENOUGH to beat Karna but let’s get into his abilities. Gilgamesh like Karna has some pretty unbreakable armor the only times we have seen him killed are when his armor is off. He fires noble phantasms at servants at lighting speed hoping to overwhelm them with the weapons (Hense how he was able to be Heracles even with his lives). He has godlike chains that if he feels that he has to use holds enemy servants still and vulnerable for how long he needs. And last but not least he has Eva. Call it what you wish but Eva with one swing is able to break reality Marbles( like against Rider in Fate Zero) and if he wanted to could destroy the entire world with it. So my reasoning with all of this I conclude that the fight would go something like this, neither of them fight with full power off start then Gilgamesh realizes that Karna isnt the average servant and decides to pull out Eva and Karna backs up to Counter his attack which would be spawning an sun Gilgamesh now overwhelmed by Karnas power Swings Eva wildly trying to destroy the sun but it wouldn’t work because now Karna shoots the sun at him and Gilgamesh loses the fight. The reason I say they wouldn’t fight at full power off start because for Gilgamesh he has a horrible habit of not taking fights seriously which leads to his downfall everytime. And Karna just seeks for a fair fight there are also other things to take in consideration because Karnas normal Master didn’t have the energy for him to go all out like that the reason he was able to was because of Shiro and his damn near infinite energy Gilgamesh on the other hand does have s lot of energy but still does have a cap unlike at the time Karna was at full power. But anyway that is why I believe Karna could 100% beat Gilgamesh

I got to go with gilgamesh wining this just his gate and it's collection of np would over power karna, for one you state that karna strongest attack is on par with Excalibur, but in the fate series gilgamesh block Excalibur with his hands with his gold armor and only to defend his head, it would need to be on par with a avalons boost to get past it, and the reason gate of battalion is more then enough is because it holds all the treasures of the world both mortal and divine, and just like Excalibur in the fate series it holds the original of the weapons and armor of heros, this means karna armor and weapon as they were part of his legend, the only nps he doesn't have is one that are created from the legend such as Hercules 9 lives as it was made from the legend of his 9 trials. Karna's armor is a blessing he got at birth in his legend which means it was made in the legend which would make it's original spawn in gilgamesh vault same for his spear from indra, they were not made/form from the legend but in it. And to talk about ea it is the weapon form to split the heavens, earth, and underworld, or void, I'm not sure on the third, which is what the 3 spinning rings represent, that power should easily destroy a sun.

Gil V/S Karna u say?? 🤔 I am quite disappointed though because Gil was actually selfish in his lifetime according to the mythology. Yes he was extremely powerful but he was arrogant, bossy and always thought highly of himself. U all know his story of immortality right? Despite being so powerful he feared death 💀 which is somewhat cowardly.
But Karna on the other hand was no doubt very powerful too but he was also kind, generous, giving, just, noble and humble. He didn’t fear death. Because if he did then he would not give away his armour and earrings knowing that it was Indra disguised 🥸 as a sage. I don’t think we should compare someone as noble as Karna with Gil who has a record of being selfish till his last breath.
P.S: no offence to all the Gilgamesh fans. Honestly, my no.1 hero in these series is Gilgamesh and Karna is 2nd. But that doesn’t mean I will lie to myself about the facts. I apologies if I have offended anyone but everything I said is absolutely true.
Karna summoned as archer class would be unstoppable with his huge arsenal of arrows.
Bhramasthra is not a laser but one of the most powerful arrows that exist it is said if two of these colloid the entire universe would be destroyed.
Another fact about Karna is that he was cursed to forget the spell to activate bhramasthra when he needs it the most.
He also had another powerful arrow in his arsenal the nagasthra.
Arjuna escaped his death because lord Krishna has lowered the chariot with his magic just before the nagasthra(used by Karna) pierced Arjuna's head making it destroy Arjuna's crown which was given to him by his father Indra the king of gods.
Karna did not die even after being shot by Arjuna's arrows repeatedly as all the good deed he had done were protecting him(Karna was very generous as he would give one anything he/she asked for.). Knowing this lord Krishna disguises himself as a poor bhramin and asks Karna to give all the good deeds he had done to him and after doing so Karna dies in the battlefield.

He is bound to his vow that was the reason he was bound to the evil prince in the lore because the prince made him a king in a part of his kingdom which made him eternally in gratitude to the prince and made him helpless to speak against his friend who was doing unspeakable acts to his own borthers. Karna is a man of honor by fault in hindu mythos there many universe destroying characters and most of them are bind to a vow or another. There are only few people in the mythos who are not bound to any kind of vow and beyond op but they just don't care about there power because they know the creation is bigger than them there are bigger things in this world that sustains life and they repect it and bow to it. Because in hindu mythos there is a saying "you can destroy are thousand releams but id you can create even a single ant by yourself then you are the greatest soul in the world"

In a fight against Karna, who could probably shrug off Gate of Babylon like he did Vlad's spikes, I doubt Gil would even last long enough to consider whether or not it's worth using Ea.

Many people here are saying that Gilgamesh with ea can easily defeat karna. Well I have also read about karna on fate wiki but if I had to say anything about the karna then it is that he is nerfed by a thousand or even million times. Yea you may have read about nobel phantasms on fate wiki or on even Wikipedia about karna and his powers but as an indian and someone who directly read Mahabharata. How karna is nerfed in fate series?
First kavach and kundela, they are nerfed so that they can be used in game, like giving the armor a property of decreasing the attack to it's 10% but the real armor was so strong that nothing could penetrate it. With his armor on karna could absorb each and every attack, he could not be killed by disease or by sinking. No attack worked on him.
Second, brahmastra is an arrow not some laser eye!! And brahmastra is said to be strong enough to not just destroy earth but whole universe hence brahm=universe and astra=weapon . It was arrow that is after firing goes into outer space and absorb all the cosmic energy required to destroy the opponent. Therfore it can be used to just destroy a country, continent or even the universe.
Third, I don't know about brahmastra kundela it is something unique to fate series but since it is a combination of karna's energy and brahmastra it should be stronger than the original one.
Fourth, vasvi sakhti it is a weapon that can kill anyone literally anyone . Though there are 2 condition first the target should be on battlefield second it should be used to kill only 1 opponent. Note:- vasvi shakti is alot stronger than brahmastra(which can destroy universe) but it does not destroy the surrounding area or anyone else. I.E one is nuke and the other is one hit kill attack. Nasu verse has nerfed karna alot. Now tell me even if some one can rip space time continuum can he destroy an armor that cannot be destroyed and survive attacks that can one shot most gods or stop an attack that can destroy whole universe? As for his raw strength? Karna without his nobel phantasm and attacks that can destroy universe still is stronger a godly army.
For those who want to know how did karna died after being so op?
He gave his armor to the thunder god indra, who came to him as a saint. The great hero had three curses on him.
First he will forget all the knowledge he has and will lose all the powers, everything he learned from his teacher, when he will need them most. i.e in the time of his death.
Second, his chariot will get stuck in earth when his death will come near. And no matter what he won't be able to get it out. The earth goddess herself was holding his chariot.
Third, he will be alone when he will die. i.e there will be no one who could helped him.
Arjuna once asked lord Krishna why karna has to give his armor and have to had all those curses. To which lord Krishna replied that if he had not gave up his armor and had all those curses he couldn't be killed by any mortal or even demi God's.
When all the curses came true and time to die came near. Arjuna fired an arrow that pierced his heart.
But karna still didn't die, dharma(goodness) goddess was not letting karna die. It is said that if you do good good will happen to you. And that was the good happening to karna, he was not dying. And not just this but it is said that if you do good then your future will bright and in the next reincarnation you will live better life.
To which lord Krishna asked karna to gave up all his fortune. And karna gave everything, his life, chance for a bright afterlife, chance for a bettet incarnation, he gave all of his fortune to lord Krishna so that he could be killed.
After the mahabharat, in the afterlife karna is said to sit among the Supreme gods and lives in sun palace where lord surya reside. He is not just consider demi god, infact he is considered a god.

All the curses in his life were supposed to be one time thing. Like the curses will only come to effect once in his lifetime and that is when he is in his most dire time. That time happened to be his final fight with Arjuna. After that, all the curses lost their effects (although he was dead anyway). So yeah, when he was brought back to life by Holy Grail, he shouldn't have any curses. This is just so unfair for him.

We never saw a fight between them so we don't know who will win although chains of heaven has a sure chance of making him totally immobile due to his high divinity but that aside, he is totally shoulder to shoulder with Gilgamesh even just in his lancer form, I can't comprehend the Archer form since that would be totally Overpowered even in Nasuverse. In the Visual Novel, Arturia took EA head on in the last fight with just her sword in her hand to get close to him in the Fate route. The sword might have helped defend herself, so Karna's armour can also tolerate that plus he also has his VS. All in all it's still 50/50 but it's true that Gil can never underestimate him as he did with Shirou because EXTELLA just showed that.

Cake# gilgamesh doesn't need to know it for it to exist in his treasury remember that many weapons including the sword caliburn was based upon exist in his treasury even though there is no historical account that he himself seen or knew the sword when he was alive. The thing to remember is that all heroic spirits' abilities are directed by their legend and in his case his legend(at least according to the Nasuverse) state that he had all the treasures of the world and is the model for every heroes that followed. Also many of the weapons in his treasury are nameless being that no actual hero wielded them(with some special cases) but...all the weapons in his treasury are someway or another the original or the basis for the weapons of other heroic spirits and I can't see a reason why this won't apply to Karna when it applied to Artoria.

Avalon`s defense sounds like becoming a ghost and the attack goes through you so it should work against any NP that needs to hit its target (Technically it "takes its user to Avalon" whatever that means... maybe that means its weak against attacks that instantly track its target to other planes of existance?)

Achilles is probably the second strongest servant we have seen in any fate anime adaptation. I really think he would be able to beat Karna if only by a slim margin
GonAdventures as long as achiles's heel is safe its pretty even i suppose. Achilles also seems to take unreasonable amount of hits from enemies even its pretty clear he's fast enough to dodge. Id like to see achilles win but i think Karna would be on a slight advantage at full power, it kinda depends on karna's master.

You got missed one crucial information. Indra did bestow vasavi shakti to Karna that could potentially kill Arjuna. So Pandavas sent Ghatothkach, the son of Bhima (one of the Pandavas) to fight against Karna, who was so strong that the only way to kill Ghatothkach was to use the Vasavi Shakti (one time weapon that returns to Indra after it's use). So the Pandavas sacrificed one of their children so that Arjuna didn't die of Vasavi Shakti the next day when Karna and Arjuna finally faced off. Also Karna had another curse that at the final hour of a life threatening battle he would forget all of his teachings because he hadlied to a master warrior into teaching him who later cursed him when he got to know the truth.
