Don't forget, Artoria was already aware of their relationship, and would have been fine with it had Agravain not threatened to expose them. If anyone's wondering, the reason Lancelot was so surprised is because after he killed Gawain's entire family and had the whole affair with Guinevere, he was exiled. He had heard of the uprising but never was around to see it, so he had no idea Mordred was a girl or King Arthur's clone.
Something I don't think is brought up often enough is that Mordred is Gawain, Agrevain, and Gareth's little sister. In every timeline, Morgan sure has lot of kids

Kinda disappointed that Nightingale doesn’t say anything to Mordred because of the Journey to the West event. I have always liked the Ox Demon King family in that event, plus, Miyuki Sawashiro talking about Miyuki Sawashiro.

I DO blame her for not trying to mend their relationship on Chaldea, she is acting as a spoiled child and doesn't even try as Mo-San tried to make peace with her. She will be forever mad at Mordred even if she wasn't really wrong either. Morgan on the "main" timeline was... a pain, she didn't see Mordred as a human being, she just saw a pawn to achieve her goals and neglected the poor kid. In the end it was a waste and she didn't got what she really wanted. Morgan in this alternative timeline sees Mordred as she really is, a neglected kid who had too much pressure put on her from a young age and ended up making a series of bad decisions on the heat of the moment. Even if she isn't to blame Morgan can't feel as if it wasn't partially her fault but don't know if it would be best to "adopt" Mordred or if it would be strange. She cares for her and watches from a distance (as shown in the dialogue) In the end, the best combination of parents for the "main" timeline Mordred would be (proto)Arthur and this Morgan as Arthur looks and sees a cute little girl who is WAY better than the yandere he has to deal with and Morgan sees a child who needs care

Honestly I always feel that the difference between Arthur and Artoria is the same between Proto Gil and Main Gil. Proto Gil is more Warrior than King, essentially (in my eyes) the "Hero" in the "King of Heroes". Arthur is more Knight than King, making him (again in my eyes) the "Knight" in "King of Knights".

Ironic that Mordred gets along with Caenis so well... considering their similarity is very surface-level one if you sum them up as "short tempered tomboys" XD While deeper than that they couldn't be any more different, with Caenis having a chronic backstabbing disorder(Not to spoil too much, she has no problem backstabbing someone who saved her life if she thinks other side has cooler goals.) and threatening to rape girls to establish dominance and all(Which she probably did a lot in life as tyrant king Caeneus...)... unlike Mordred who despite her "knight of betrayal" title is actually very loyal(As long as you aren't a dickhead), and well being adorably clueless in romantic and sexual matters XD
I think their friendship is probably pretty surface level. Basically they like to spar each other in the simulator and shoot the shit but don't really hang out much or talk about anything heavy with one another. Basically they're hobby friends. A good example would be if you were into DnD or rock climbing and had someone you did that with but didn't really hang out with outside those settings.
It kind of saddens me how many people don't like Mordred. I get she is rough and difficult but you have to understand she is acting out for attention. Neither of her parental figures ever showed any care for her, yeah she is going to be angry. And to have the one person you looked up to and cherished deny you would send most people insane.
Well put yourself in Artoria's shoes; your half sister Morgan decides to create a "Son" that is basically a mirror image of her. Artoria fully acknowledges that she is in fact a woman pretending to be a man in order to fulfill a role but Mordred refuses to even concede that. Then Mordred goes on about being the "Son" of King Arthur and calls her "Father" when Artoria already sees herself as very far outside of what is considered womanly at the time. Even with someone with good interpersonal and communication skills this would be a thorny problem to untangle but clearly Artoria doesn't have even that. Throw in how it's quite possible that the Haemonculus process used might in fact be a form of cloning (not that anyone would know what that was back then) resulting in a situation where Morgan her half sister gives birth to someone who's genetically speaking Artoria's twin sister which is an immeasurably fucked up situation when you think about it that way.

After all the time they spent together in the London singularity and all the events, I was hoping Fran would have a line about Mordred. But she does not, and I am sad.
They do have lines about each other, sort of. Type Moon released some character material books that give a quick overview of a number of servants, including a bit dedicated to their relationships with other servants. Mordred has one for Fran which off the top of my head says something like "Mordred doesn't really know why but she can't bring herself to ignore Fran" while Fran has one for Mordred that says something like "she doesn't really know why, but the normally lazy Fran feels more motivated around Mordred". It's not the same as a voiceline in fgo itself, but it's pretty similar.
The fact that Artoria is the only one that has active hostility towards best tomboy is tragic. Bah! I'll just endure my favorite knight's pain in a Simulator duel until she's had enough for the day. Best knight, best tomboy.
Or my suggestion put those 2 together and throw them on the field. If you have Morgan, do the same thing. Put the 3 of them out and MAKE them work together.

I think their friendship is probably pretty surface level. Basically they like to spar each other in the simulator and shoot the shit but don't really hang out much or talk about anything heavy with one another.
Basically they're hobby friends. A good example would be if you were into DnD or rock climbing and had someone you did that with but didn't really hang out with outside those settings.
It kind of saddens me how many people don't like Mordred. I get she is rough and difficult but you have to understand she is acting out for attention. Neither of her parental figures ever showed any care for her, yeah she is going to be angry. And to have the one person you looked up to and cherished deny you would send most people insane.

Well put yourself in Artoria's shoes; your half sister Morgan decides to create a "Son" that is basically a mirror image of her. Artoria fully acknowledges that she is in fact a woman pretending to be a man in order to fulfill a role but Mordred refuses to even concede that. Then Mordred goes on about being the "Son" of King Arthur and calls her "Father" when Artoria already sees herself as very far outside of what is considered womanly at the time. Even with someone with good interpersonal and communication skills this would be a thorny problem to untangle but clearly Artoria doesn't have even that. Throw in how it's quite possible that the Haemonculus process used might in fact be a form of cloning (not that anyone would know what that was back then) resulting in a situation where Morgan her half sister gives birth to someone who's genetically speaking Artoria's twin sister which is an immeasurably fucked up situation when you think about it that way.

Arturia has zero people skills, didnt even like being the King, and had her daughter/son, who is like, what a grown 5 year old? Trying to succeed her when she KNEW Mordred would hate royal life.
The only true sin on her part to me was not communicating WHY she denied Mordred. She didn't explain all the hardship she endured or how much ruling sucked or having to be a man even tho she isnt gay or trans.
She just pretty much says, " you aint my kid, you'll never be king, next issue". That is what sent Mordred over the edge

After all the time they spent together in the London singularity and all the events, I was hoping Fran would have a line about Mordred. But she does not, and I am sad.

They do have lines about each other, sort of. Type Moon released some character material books that give a quick overview of a number of servants, including a bit dedicated to their relationships with other servants. Mordred has one for Fran which off the top of my head says something like "Mordred doesn't really know why but she can't bring herself to ignore Fran" while Fran has one for Mordred that says something like "she doesn't really know why, but the normally lazy Fran feels more motivated around Mordred". It's not the same as a voiceline in fgo itself, but it's pretty similar.
The fact that Artoria is the only one that has active hostility towards best tomboy is tragic. Bah! I'll just endure my favorite knight's pain in a Simulator duel until she's had enough for the day. Best knight, best tomboy.
Or my suggestion put those 2 together and throw them on the field. If you have Morgan, do the same thing. Put the 3 of them out and MAKE them work together.
What is this active hostility you are referring to? I only see indifference. More than what a traitor who ran several knights over with a stolen sword and ended an entire dynasty on account of her hubris deserves.
Lancelot speaks to her in a very hostile tone tho, he seems like he wants a fight. Not to mention how the rest of KotR are still quite pissed with her.

Huge correction. Mordred is not a Pendragon despite being born from the union of Morgan and Arthur, even in the original lore. Illegitimate children do not receive the father's family name, unless acknowledged by the parent in question. Mordred was not.
