- Mix Powder is the secret spice mix (Curry Powder) that many restaurants use in their curries. There is nothing you can buy in the shop that can replicate this balance and flavour. Try at home and improve your curry making skills with these trade secrets. You would use this in place of your usualy curry powder and omit and replication of spices. Al

Hello Al ! I have just discovered your channel and I can't wait to start cooking your delicious curries ! I have always enjoyed a curry but I have normally just used a jar of Thai Red Curry (my favourite) paste from Asda. I'm a late starter (I'm 59) to home made curries and I hope your recipes will taste as good as the ones in Indian restaurants. I'm in Birkenhead (over the Mersey from Liverpool) Don't ask me if I support Liverpool or Everton - I don't like football ! 🙂

Interesting you mentioned a lot of people watching from New Zealand as I am. I think it's because we miss the good old British curry house. Good ones are far & few between here, not that there aren't some. So it's DIY & it's great to watch you Al, you make it so straight forward 👍 thanks.
Fellow expat Kiwi checking in. Have to give a shoutout to Bombay Palace in Frankton / Queenstown because it's pretty good but I do cook all my own curries now thanks to Al's Kitchen!

Today I made most of the basic prep. Made your mix Al and your jalfrezi. The only thing I miscalculated was the potency of green chili. I did a cheat base gravy so next thing is the real thing. It was so much fun! Thanks for your inspiration
I will be trying this for my next curry! Greetings from Gloucestershire!
Hi Al. I'm watching from sunny Braintree in Essex. Thanks for the mixed powder recipe. I've been using Dan's but nearly gone now. I will use Wise Al's now. 😁

Cheers Al. Great tutorials. Greetings from Abu Dhabi
Just found this channel. I'm watching from Oslo, Norway. Your latest video, "Staff curry", showed up in my recommendations today.Appropriately I'm going to have chickpea curry tomorrow; I just discovered that there was a Pakistani grocery store pretty close by in a side street where I could buy all the Indian/Pakistani spices that I could not find at the two closest asian groceries that both are mainly Turkish. I'll try to make this curry powder tomorrow.. I might have to go back to that store and buy som garam masala; because I think I might be low on that in my spice cupboard.
In shrewsbury England , great video al . You are my go to curry man
Love your house aswell as you cooking curry’s
As always Al very useful help and advice, cheers and thanks for make the video 👍

Love your videos from Montreal!
Thanks for watching!
An Essex guy here living at the beach in Los Angeles for 33 years. Luckily there are Indian stores around so that I can buy spices cheap and not have to pay outrageous prices at the super marked for a tiny amount. I follow you, and love to make curries, plus add my own curry smell into the outside air, competing (kind of) against my Asian Thai neighbours who also make wonderful smelling food. I like your little burner, and would be interested to see a video on it and about your gas supply and utensils. Keep doing what you do, it is well appreciated.
THanks Al, great content! I get all my spices from 'Falcon' in Leicester, if it's not there you don't need it!!!
