I really sat around for half the video wondering why you didnt use kadabra with elemental punches and recover and completely forgot the premise was no exp
In fact, considering that every single status move has an innate 25% chance of failing on gen 2, the actual chance of Gengar hitting Hypnosis in one turn is 45%. That means missing 5 times in a row is actually around 5% chance... Is not that huge, but we have seen Tackle missing multiple times, right? 😂
During the Red battle I was thinking the whole time “why doesn’t he use Graveler instead of Rhydon it’s at a higher level and knows explosion” lol took you long enough. And that you decided to use Toxic only for Red was an interesting choice.
I’ll admit, I didn’t expect this to be next, but I’m excited to see if this will be possible! Red seems like he’ll be a really rough challenge especially with how low level the wild pokemon are in this game
Getting wobbuffet from the game corner to fight Whitney was such a galaxy brain play. Never thought about that in all the time I’ve spent on these games
Dear Jrose11, idk if you'll see this, but i've discovered your channel about 3-4 months ago. i've watched every solo run you've put out, and i've even rewatched a good amount of them. I'm currently serving over seas in Iraq, and this niche pokemon content you've created has been the perfect entertainment whenever I browse youtube. I play randomizer nuzlockes on my laptop to pass the time, and I always share the screen with your youtube videos while i'm playing. Just wanted to show my appreciation for the content you create, and thanks for keeping the early gen pokemon games alive. You rock man, keep it up.
The fact you didn't go for an ice/electric/rock hidden power unknown at the beginning to help push through sprout tower and Falkner was interesting. This is one of the few challenges that an unknown could have genuine viable use. Would have been cool to see.
One thing that I'm enjoying about this run is of how many strategies there are to come up with. Just because a Pokemon doesn't work for the 4th gym leader and so they get box, they can work for the 5th gym leader and gets withdrawn(for example, NOT saying that was the case, you can change the numbers around if you want, I just picked random numbers that were sequential).
Tip for Red's Snorlax: To sped up the strat with Misdreavus, teach it swagger to boost Snorlax atk and with curse residual damage, it shouldn't have much chances to keep spamming rest.
Nice job. Though, speaking as someone who’s watched MoogleBoss’ old 0 EXP challenge and theory-crafted about if the rival could beat Red as presented in-game (he can), there was an easy way to beat Red’s Espeon casualty-free. When Espeon comes in after Rhydon, send in Sneasel to absorb the incoming Psychic. Per MoogleBoss’ notes on their past Red experience, Red will retaliate against a dramatically underleveled Sneasel with Swift. So Misdreavous can absorb that in kind. Then it’s just a PP stall until Psychic runs out, at which point the stall chain continues with Mud-Slap. So you then replace Sneasel in the stall with a flying type like Golbat. Once Espeon is tapped of Mud-Slap, Misdreavous can just come in and squat on the remaining Swift uses to cast Curse.
This was super fun to watch! Seemed like a lot more strategy had to go into it compared to most of the solo ones, which was really cool to see because you're great at planning!
It's so weird to see you using more then one pokemon at a time
Jrose battling with a whole team is like when "weighted clothes" come off in anime and the protaganist becomes 100 times more powerful.

I really hope the "All Opponents at Level 100" is coming soon, I enjoyed that stream a lot!

Okay guys, mark the day: November 25th, 10 pm german Time: Jrose11 officially has gone mad!
This whole playthrough with no exp and being underleveled is basically what Ash goes through in the anime...

"Thankfully I was able to hit myself in confusion" is a sentence I never thought I'd hear in a challenge run.

You’ve outdone yourself Jrose! This was such a fun run and really well made video, the month of Jrose has been incredible so far ❤

The true most wonderful time of the year is the month of Jrose. 😄 Been a fan for years and I'm so excited to see more!
