    That looks like it has fantastic range for the size. You're right, most AA size lights are great for indoors but fall flat when you need some distance outside. By the way, I'm really enjoying the Lumintop Tool AA 2.0 from the giveaway. It's a great edc!

    14500 is a great size for an EDC flashlight.

    Excellent small pocket thrower. I received mine yesterday and so far I'm very happy with it. The tail switch could be a bit softer to press but it probably will soften up over time. I don't like the clip at all, so took it off but anything else is great about that little puncher.

    I'll be checking this one out. All of my 14500 lights are more floody than throwy, except the Lumintop GTA. It's not exactly pocket friendly for a 14500 but it's a laser.

    I think the idea of a 14500 tactical light is great. Powertac also have the WOFT now.(insane pricy) But both are to thick. They need a certain length to fit your hand but they could be very thin with this kind of battery, like 19mm. The smallest 18650 tactical light is the Olight Warrior Mini 3. A 14500 tactical light has to be smaller than this to make sense.

    • @PardonMyEnglish
      @PardonMyEnglish  10 месяцев назад

      Good point. Yes, at a certain thickness a different battery size makes the most sense. Heat management becomes a bit tricky with thinner lights at some point as well. I’ll have to check out that Powertac.

      @@PardonMyEnglish You get 3 TAC AA for the price of 1 woft! I really want it as a tactical light. If you will ever need it, it will be just for a short time so heat management is very neglectabel for me. Also runtime isnt important so a 14500 is ok and saves weight.

      @@PardonMyEnglish Someone in a German forum wrote that he has a problem when using NiMH. There he has a different order: low - very low - medium - high. Did you try it with alkaline and NiMH yet ?

    I've got a soft spot for 14500 lights as well... Great size and they can pack more punch than you might think, just not for quite as long with the small cell.
    If you'd like to see some other options in the small pocket thrower category, check out the Weltool T1 Pro (similar throw, lower output but significantly smaller) and the Manker Striker Mini (not as much output, but twice the range).

    I'm rather partial to AA-AAA lights as well. Does it give specs on run times and luminary output for AA? Love that throw. Great vid.

      This is a cool light, Acebeam makes good stuff. If you want a lot of light in a small package, one of my most carried lights is a Zebra Light H600, no pocket clip just thrown into my pocket. 18650 light that is probably smaller than this.

    @Pardon My English or ANYONE - the specs on the acebeam site say it has a "low battery warning". I can't find any video or articles showing / verifying HOW the indicator works or looks like. Anyone know?

    Would you recommend another fuel alternative that performs similar or better than the original acebeam 3.7v 14500 that comes with in? Or should i get a same backup battery replacement?

    • @PardonMyEnglish
      @PardonMyEnglish  Месяц назад +1

      Good question. If you need a battery with a built in charging port, the Acebeam batteries are nice. Otherwise, I’d get some 14500 batteries with good reviews if possible.

    wish it had a more powerful battery to power 1000 to 1500 lumens for at least 30 minutes and one more lumen mode around 600 lumens. Then it would be near perfect.

    Did you find that with an alkaline 1.5v or a NIMH 1.2 battery that the first 2 power levels seem flip flopped? Mine seems to be brighter on the first level than level 2 with the other batteries but it doesn’t bother me as it was prob optimized for the 3.7v battery.

    Does is the take USB PD? That battery is 3.7V so it's 14500, not AA. And I've no idea how they gave this a 1M rating withough a forward spring in the head. Nice review!

    • @strikenryken
      @strikenryken 10 месяцев назад +2

      I have this light it definitely takes AA 1.5v as well as NIMH 1.2v and the supplied 3.7v battery. What are you meaning when you ask if it takes USB PD? I’ve submersed my light and it seems just fine still. I’m confused as how many people like to poo poo on lights they have never owned 😂. It’s great in my opinion, if you think it’s a POS that’s fine with me.

    • @PardonMyEnglish

      Good concerns. I charged it with a 40w charger without issue. It can take AAs, and 14500s have a bit of spring in the positive terminal.
