5:11 to put the polishing head on a die grinder, push the bolt (or screw) out of the polishing head. Then, find a bolt/screw that will fit through the hole where the old one was, but make it a couple inches longer so you can thread a nut onto the new bolt to lock the bolt & polishing head together. Mark where the nut will tighten up on the bolt, and take it all apart. Turn the new longer bolt on a lathe to create a shaft that will fit into your die grinder, but make sure you do not cut into the threads you just marked off. Now, push the new bolt back through the polishing head, put the nut on the bolt with some thread lock, and your polishing head will have a shaft that should fit right into your die grinder.
As always getting on Hamilton's tool truck with yourself and Special Order Bill is very cool even though I do it in VA through my pc's screen. I need to watch it again because I'm rebuilding a GM 8.6 IRS as we speak that goes in my G8 with that being said I'm gonna hit the play button one more time. Have a good weekend and I'll see ya on the next one..
The little polishers/Sanders aren't designed for fuel tanks. As my snap on dealer told me months ago when I bought mine. They're designed for touch up buffing like in body shops and for cleaning gasket material mating surfaces. Use mine on a brake job the other day to clean the parts up while my air compressor is down. Milwaukee makes great tools. I have Milwaukee and Snap On both. Each has their own purpose.
@@dtnel I have used my m12 Polisher to polish a diesel pickup might not be what it is made for but I am sure that took a lot longer then the gas tank. I just think for the price difference he should expect even more then that out of the snap on.
I have heard others say the sanders will overheat and burn up, I have been using mine everyday for 2 years no problems. Clay they make an adapter for the buffer pads. I made a few of my own adapters also.
Clay, would you be willing to do some how-to type videos of some of the stuff you see in your shop? Itd be great to have a chance to learn, see what you guys do normally, and see these toys in action! Doesn't have to be big or time consuming.
Wonder if that long bar would work in my 3/4 ratchet head from Cornwell from back in 1996 when I bought it. It came with a shorter bar. Back then you used a cheater bar or pure muscle to get that extra pull on it as they didn't make long bars then. Things are a lot different these days than in the 90's.
just get the air polisher. i have the same snap on polisher, same story and same story for the 18v drill. another issue with the battery polisher, seems like battery life sucked. if you are aiming for a velcro backing plate for your die grinder, get one of the headlight restoration kits the set to use a drill.
Bummer about the polisher. I got one for a 67 Mustang restoration. For the lighter duty/smaller stuff like interior or chrome and plastic restoration it's good but eats batteries. For general fab it's pretty disappointing. Cordless is handy but if/when this one craps out I'm going back to air for this app. A Mirka or Dynabrade will run circles around it. One good thing about the SO is switchable speeds. Air will require a separate tool for each.
Awesome channel and videos clay! Can i throw out there what i want for christmas here on youtube?? See if jyoung family (shauna etc) over to koon trucking for a christmas party, get hamiltons truck over and invite a few freinds like u guys did before ? Throw it up on a live stream and lets all hang out and talk the tools man and have a beer together??? Man it was so much fun last time
Take a look on my Instagram page. He knows so many tricks and stuff. He is a mess or you can search #dieselkoon on Instagram. He’s a mess let me tell ya ! He’s very smart. I own his mom and dad (his dad passed away) they are amazing dogs

Surprised you guys are getting bad luck with the polisher. I’ve had mine for a couple months and no problems. I do a lot of grinding at work and some polishing on weekends on my own cars. Wonder why you guys have a lot of problems?
I have no clue. I even use the pads that came with them. Guess it’s just my luck to have a little bad luck with snap on tools ?? But that’s 2 in a row and neither lasted over 5 mins
Sucks to hear that buddy. I guess someone is bound to get the duds? Haha keep up the good content. One of my favorite channels cause I’m addicted to tools and you guys sometimes help me make a decision on some purchases
So if u break a tool a hour after snap on mans leaves u have to wait another week to show him and order another then another week to get replacement!!! 2 weeks to wait is to long
My snap on guy will give me his loaner the same day if he's nearby or I can meet him. HE then ships it out and I use his tool. Get the tool rebuilt or replaced for less than $120 and that was my 1/2 impact I bought on eBay the guy lied about. Luckily I bought it cheap enough on eBay that I still saved money.
Bill, You're using the wrong damn tool for polishing fuel tanks. You need a full size high speed buffer. As far as rubbing well Bill needs to see the Mrs's......😂😂😂😂
The smoke packet busted in it. That’s two in a row and haven’t gotten 5 total mins of run time out of them ! I have bad luck with them i guess ? Polishing headlights with the foam pad it comes with and diesel spill off the tanks with the fuzzy pad it comes with ??
Next time u see Hamilton ask him if he has ever made a guy pay for a snap ring replacement for a snap on gun. Cuz my snap on guy makes u pay for everything no matter what. My gun was still under the warranty and he charged me 6 bucks for one snap ring
@@KoonTrucking I thought so. But our guy told us snap rings are not warranty parts. He is always trying to find ways to get more money from us. That's why I no longer buy snap on. lmao bills hat at the end is awsome hahaha sooo funny
That snap-on should be able to handle that. In relation to the price it shouldn't be an issue. No excuses
Awesome video, awesome knives awesome people. Wish there was a snap on truck where I live.
Graeat video love the ending always love bill in the videos lol

You could try the Blue Point surface prep tool. Part number AT401MCA. It's a air powered polish/prep tool. It is threaded for the polish pads.
Watched till the end, poor bill lol. Maybe get him a new hat lol. Great fetch Diesel!

Need to buy the Milwaukee polisher
Oh it’s coming ........ just waiting on the Cornwell truck !
I agree. Snap On makes great stuff but its really hard to beat a Milwaukee at their own game. Clay will get to stay with red.
I agree I have the m12 polisher and am happy with it.

Clay they sell those arbors on eBay for eraser wheels that would also work for that buffer pad.
I use my buffer to do tire patches and clean off brake rotors with a sander attachment. What are you doing to them lol.
I use the foam pad to polish headlights and the fuzz pad to polish diesel spills off tanks
