D.W is the kid that cries for the entire flight and causes such a disturbance the plane has to land at the nearest airport to kick her and the rest of her family off putting your 3 hours behind schedule.
This episode definitely hit some people's schadenfreude, while she did nothing wrong it still always felt like karma had finally come back around to give her something.
Good point and an interesting conundrum shows sometimes have. D.W. loses a lot of goodwill from viewers when she is legitimately the victim because she comes out unpunished in so many episodes. Even in episodes meant to teach her a lesson it feels like she's always shirking any accountability.

Whenever there was an episode where I was supposed to sympathize with DW, it becomes hard for me to do so, because of other episodes where we were meant to sympathize with her (DW’s very bad mood, Go to your Room, DW, Arthur’s Big Hit, just to name a few) but they botch it by making her as big of an unsympathetic brat as possible.
There are a few episodes that DW was actually normal for once. Maybe for a change of pace, you should review episodes where Arthur stepped in for her. I think that’s why I like this episode, because Arthur gave her a good advice, and she actually listened to it.
This episode surprisingly managed to make D.W very sympathetic she did not deserve that at all in this episode. Even as a kid I felt so bad for her in this episode and wanted to give her a hug. Well played writers, well played.

Don’t get me wrong, I hate the brat as much as the next person, but I just wish her parents would discipline her every time she’s insufferable. What I Give the episode credit is pointing out the message and moral that it okay to love a tv show or series but don't take your love for something too far also Don't copy what you see and do on tv as it can harm or hurts others if you aren't carefull and the fact you can get into trouble if something goes wrong

Two things, 1. This actually takes place before Big Hit, make of that what you will. 2. Yeah DW didn’t really do anything wrong here, this was all on the Tibbles. I think people just wanna see DW get her comeuppance/karma to get her. However, that would work better if this was after Big Hit, see number 1. Perhaps you could do a side series about the Tibbles and their wrong doings?

The correct and proportionate punishment to her behavior would’ve been a talking to and maybe some sort of grounding. A plank of wood to the face and stitches is disproportionate.
I mean she was the victim of the Tibbles, yes. But when we consider everything else she's done in the show, this is just a micrometre of the punishment warranted.

Does anybody else realize the toxic relationship between the Tibbles and DW? Sure, they're friends in some episodes but more often than not they relentlessly tease and torment her. I know they're only kids but since they act so rude to her why does she even bother being friends with them in the first place? Really, you shouldn't be friends with people who bully you. It'll cause a lot of problems in the future.
that Terrific Turbo Toy T-Bot Team show that the Tibbles watch is something else. One minute, they're beating the whale and narwal guys up, and the next, they're doing that Head Action thing that the Twins constantly have trouble trying to imitate, which probably could've ended with them ripping their own heads off if they weren't careful. The fact that DW had to be the voice of reason here, even if it resulted in her getting a swing to the face, makes the Tibbles that much worse in my opinion.

I see this episode as genuinely horrifying from a character perspective, I think most people wanted to see this one just because they view it as long-coming karmic justice, but the dipshit twins just *up and decided* that clocking someone in the face with a plank of wood was the most justifiable thing they could do in this situation. Didn't even hesitate, didn't have a moment of one thinking "Maybe we shouldn't do THIS." they just pull the trigger and feel nothing until they're going to face consequences for it. You know maybe D.W.'s sociopathic tendencies aren't entirely her own doing...
Dora Winifred getting nailed into the face by the swing was probably more satisfying than Arthur punching her. I have no regrets saying that about the demon spawn. Also, when you say she doesn’t deserve getting hit, you gotta be smoking something cause her very existence is deserving of a good smack to the face.
Like, in this very specific episode there isn't really anything she did to deserve this. However the schadenfreude is far from lost with me, it was always satisfying to see her hit smacked, and satisfying to see the twins finally realize their own actions can have consequences too.

They're very active for their age. Grandma Thora is pretty much the only one who knew how to handle them (when she babysat for them, she had them run an obstacle course which tired them out).
I think D.W. is also a state of being. Anyone can be a D.W. in this show. The Tibble Twins were just it in this one. Francine and Milly become D.W. a few times, at least!

However, there is the stigma on TV that it apparently forces children to become violent and sexually depraved, and that's what's important. People who do this sort of thing know better, and they also know that if they make up some malarky about being possessed by the evil TV, violent video games and devil's rock music, suddenly the conversation changes. Parents start clucking like hens over the evil media, and the kids get to sneak away from the chaos and continue with the now consequence-free behavior.
At first, I only knew about this episode because the part with the Tibbles visiting the hospital was referenced in the episode "D.W.'s Perfect Wish"-which was essentially a clip show of events up to that point in the series. In recent history, the part at 0:15 with Timmy turning into a jet engine, and the part where one of them is trying to take off their helmet have been used in an "Arthur Out of Context" compilation, though part of the inspiration for the "Terrific Turbo-Trooper Toy T-Bot Team" show was from Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers as well as a Dic-produced show called "Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad". As for the next one, it may be the first Season 5 episode that you have covered in this time. Especially the part where D.W. doesn't understand how a production set isn't in a literal barn.
This episode is more of like an fu tibble twins episode instead of an fu dw episode, but this is still great just like all of your fu dw episodes, keep up the great work Matt!
Have you noticed that just about every D.W. episode you covered features the Tibble Twins? Maybe they're absent from about 3 or 4, but for the most, they're there, and they seem to encourage D.W.'s poor behavior. I can't stand those twins. If I had to choose who I'd want for a younger sibling, I'd choose D.W., for as bratty and selfish as she is, at least she can be entertaining and has redeemable qualities. Not those awful twins though. I say their granny should put them up for adoption and be done with it.

This video reminds me of a time when I was a kid and I was watching an episode of Arthur featuring the Tibble Twins with my uncle visiting from Poland in the room. He asked me if those were anthropomorphic potatoes in the cartoon. I wasn’t sure how to respond because I never really put too much thought into what the hell kind of animal they were supposed to be and only found out when I was older that they are supposed to be bears despite not looking that much different from the Read family which are all aardvarks.

The Tibbles can make DW look like a good kid in comparison.
I think a lot of us chose this one because D.W. got hit and we saw it this time, unlike in Arthur's Big Hit where it was censored.

This video reminds me of a time when I was a kid and I was watching an episode of Arthur featuring the Tibble Twins with my uncle visiting from Poland in the room. He asked me if those were anthropomorphic potatoes in the cartoon. I wasn’t sure how to respond because I never really put too much thought into what the hell kind of animal they were supposed to be and only found out when I was older that they are supposed to be bears despite not looking that much different from the Read family which are all aardvarks.
That episode is my favourite; DW is a massive pain and I love it that it was one of the twin who threw the swing at her
