finally, nice to see another cue repair person that understands that cues are not round or straight and the "machine perfect" ferrule has to be "blended" on to the cue... nice work
There's visible runout on the shaft when turning down the new ferrule. Clever trick with the blade to blend the interface between shaft and ferrule. The blade follows the shaft making that end of the ferrule match with the shaft profile. Nice!!! Bummer about the nick/abrasion in the clear part at the end. Flaw in the tip?
I hadn't seen the layered style tip material before and leaving the little pip on the tip is going to make for great grip. When I was a kid the local pool hall owner had access to elephant hide tips. Can you get them anymore? They were so supple and durable.
I am curious, what is that sliding tool called, that you have attached, with the cutter, for trimming the wood, ferrule and tip, for that lathe, and can that type of tool be attached to a Mini Lathe? Also curious what RPM you have the lathe running at? I really liked the video, and would like to give this a try for myself, if I can get the right parts that I would need. Thanks.

Great work, answered a lot of my questions. That radius tool is brilliant! What did you use to shine the tip up? Guessing some kind of wax.
Loved it. The ferrule on my cue is cracked and I'm looking for a way to fix it.
