Mine works perfectly! I've done 3 tips so far n the biggest thing is to trim the excess material off the tip after gluing it on...I like using a dremel tool. keep a double wrap of painter's tape on the ferrule n you're good to go!
Break off tip. level surface. try not to remove much ferrule. wrap painters tape. 3 wraps for me. glue tip. turn and use edge of a grinder lightly until a layer of tape or 2 is coming off equal. I finish with a drill laid on its side chucked up with a rubber cup or a chair leg and bolt threaded though it. holds shaft perfectly. can add painter tape to this area to get more grip also. I use a variable speed control on the drill and just hold the shaft as i use 500grit all the way to 2000 then finish with leather. Perfect every time been doing it for 15 years. I do have a tweedens tip tool which a use after the grinding but is not necessary. the drill is great for shaping the tip with one of those long U type sandpaper holders. Now I have a revo gotta be real careful as you cant me sanding that thing.
The replacement tips - which side is glued down? You don't really show that clearly. At 1:28 you show a tip with writing on one side - and you sand / glue the other side. My tips seem to have a leather looking side but no writing and a "not leather" looking side. Help please!
I just wana know whats that in between the ferrule and tip, did you damage your ferrule with that tool? it doesn't look straight or maybe something is there.........i don't know need a closeup.
Once you pushed the shaft into the tool and get it locked it, it will only cut leather by the size of the ferrule, anything smaller will not be cut, unless you have a tapered ferrule.
Paul ofTarsus There is an ebay link on the description. Yes and these actually trims and top ferrule flattener works really well and very fast. You should try one! ;)
Eugene Thoo I have used it on all kinds of shafts including revo shafts. They work the same. However, when I used to sell them I do received many emails of which they cut ferrules, etc. I personally think if it is done right, it will not do any damage to the shaft.
Eugene : Try using a small cutter razor to cut off the rounded edges all around before you fitting into the tool... just be careful not to cut edges too much though. Pushing it in hard by force is Not recommended cauz by doing that the glued tip may fall off instantly..
There is a rubber underneath the tool so it won't harm or dent the shaft. No it does not wear the shaft after few uses at all, this is our most sold tool too!
OKBAOK Don’t really need much skills with the BillKing CACO, you just need to learn how to align the tip in the center without getting glue all over your hands. 😂
@@2502860 Well George, the sharpener takes out the "oversized" tip/leather first. Do it slowly, and take it out to check if the tip flushes with the ferrule, takes practice. I've also seen people using masking tape to protect their ferrule so the blade does not take out the ferrule.
@@TSBilliards ok kinda figure it out how to do it. The sharpener button is very hard to push in. I cant get to the ferrule. On your video it looks so easy. U don't seem to give any pressure on the button
@@2502860 George, you do not have to push any button. Just push the shaft into the tool as hard as u can until you hear a click sound that the shaft is stuck into the tool. Then just hold the tool and spin the shaft, no need to press the button (as I've had people that press the button and over-cut the tip/ferrule). No pressure on the button.
Yes of course, practicing the old-school method or using a lathe is what I usually recommend most to do, but not everyone wants to practice the traditional method. :'(
What is the point of this tool if you still have to shape it your self? I thought billking is shaping it for you. Great touch though you did a good job
Co73 The BillKing is for trimming/shaping and flattening the ferrule. It does shape the tip but for me its slower than the last4ever tool and it leaves a Nickel shape instead of a Dime. I just prefer doing it that way and of course because I’m a dealer of last4ever tip tool. Haha :)
No need for complex tools. I do it with a very sharp planer knife and a razer blade by hand. My tips look like coming straight out of the factory. With absolutely no damage to the ferule of my Revo shaft. So not using a lathe or tools like in the video. I have much more control over the process by just doing it by hand with a knife.
I would trust this with a house cue or an old player. Just no precise enough for a high-quality cue that would be expensive to have fixed after you screw up it up with this cheap tool.
Honestly, this tool if practiced and worked on enough can achieve very clean and decent work. This video was taken on my first try on this tool. And for "high-quality" or precision work, I use my cue lathe of course. But for a tip trimming and shaping, this tool can achieve quality work.
hardly over engineered. its a damn plastic sink drain from lowes with some cheap knive in the ends. lol. im not joking. that is 100 percent a plastic bathroom sink drain.
You're using the gold shaping tool all wrong. Dont use it at an angle. Straight across the top and turn the cue a bit at a time. It has a dime radius built in.
Agreed. The last4ever tip tool has the radius of a dime or a nickel, so you just have to stroke it across the tip while turning the shaft. It's that simpel.
Imagine if you ACTUALLY TALKED. Are a shopping mall Mime as a day job?

Well I do the same with nothing but a hand sander to clean up the end once I take the old tip off and then everything else by hand with some sand paper so 70.00 bucks for a tool is a little expensive for my cheap ass, I'll stick to my method, unless they come down in price.
Jerk Ass Yes, thats what I use as well. You can check out my other videos. But I’m just sharing how to use the tool. It’s not even my product. But yes for anything but a cue lathe, I still recommend using traditional knife and sandpaper method.
