- Jamie Lee Curtis truly feels joyful after getting nominated for her first Academy Award. The 64-year-old actress got teary eyed talking to Access Hollywood special correspondent Jason Kennedy about the significance of her nomination at the 2023 Oscars Nominees Luncheon. “This is not my life, and it’s been really beautiful,” she said. The actress also gushed over her friendship with her “Everything Everywhere All At Once” co-star Michelle Yeoh. The 2023 Oscars air March 12 on ABC.
It's soo nice she gets this moment, she should be a múltiple nominee by now, but better late than never. Also, props to access for getting Jason, he lets people talk and finish their thoughts, thats always great
Great comment!
Yeah I’ve seen other recent interviews with JLC shutting down dumb/cringe questions from journalists but this guy was respectful and his conversation with her was nice
She has so much passion it’s so heartwarming to watch ❤ thank you Jamie Lee Curtis for gracing the cinema screen with your beautiful work
I can't find the right word to praise this interview. What a treat to watch Jamie Lee Curtis showing her emotions in such way...Bravo!!!
She was so amazing in "a Fish Called Wanda" years ago, one of my all-time favorite movies, I just assumed that she had already been nominated or won some recognition. She definitely deserves this.
I have watched this movie several times and still laughed out loud
I really want her and Yeoh to win.
What sucks is we all know they both deserve it, but the Oscar’s be on that bullshit
Me too... 😬😬😁😁
Me to 😬
GOOD NEWS
Jamie, I respected your grit even when I was a kid watching your horror movies. You’ve never disappointed. Thank you for being so humble and earnest with the world, especially about the beauty of our aging faces, bodies, and minds. So happy for you and Michelle.
She is so my hope for the win. Not only because she is such a sincerely nice person, but because she deserves it for her performance as every civil service employee I have ever encountered.
Briliance!
I didn't watch Hollywood movie a lot and I didn't know who is Jamie Lee Curtis before until I watched Everything Everywhere all at once. I found Jamie is a REAL person and I love REAL person and she is my idol now 🥰😍🤩
Not even " Halloween "? "TRUE LIES"? A Fish called Wanda?
Protect this woman at all costs! A refreshingly honest and considerate person in show (off) business? Go on, girl!
SHE JUST WON THE OSCAR ❤❤❤
Congrats Jamie! Only around 500 living actors in the world now are Oscar nominees! Just enjoy your moment!
That was awesome and she moved me. I would love to see her win.
seriously could you imagine her exceptance speech? Legend / Iconic etc etc
Jamie Lee Curtis is winning this deserved accolade because she is talented, hard working and a legend. She is winning it for herself, her family and her lineage. Her parents were part of the history of Hollywood and Film. I am very proud of her lifetime accomplishments. Northern Canadian Comfort. Peace to the World.
Aww. She's just wonderful. She really DOES deserve an experience like this. I'm really glad to heart about the good will, the relationships that are being formed among nominees in the same category. This is the positive about the Oscars: celebrating craft and good will.
JAMIE I LOVE YOU EVER SINCE I SAW HALLOWEEN 1 YOU DESERVE THE WIN.
I think this the best company of nominees so far. And she is among friends indeed.
Soooo great to see her being celebrated
She is so genuine person
Great conversation! Didn’t know Michelle was so worried about the Globe, give her the dang Oscar!
So gracious and well-spoken. Love her!
I adore her. I would love for her to win.
She’s one of those people who you hear this is her first nomination and you don’t believe it at first.
I'm happy for Jamie. 45 years working in that business. She started off with her great role in Halloween and since, she has had such a fantastic career. She's covered so many genres and characters. And such a strong, down to earth personality on top of it. Love her! That Oscar was much deserved.
JL i love you....from Malaysia
No nonsense- just love her interviews!
She is so good in that movie. I don’t watch award shows, but I do hope she wins.. same with the rest of the cast for the film
She looks amazing
Go Jamie! Such a sweet person!
I want to vote for her!
They were indebted to her, they owed her that nomination, I love Angela, but my heart goes out to Jamie ❤️🌹
Awesome Jamie!! Your real, and I love it!!!
So happy for Jamie Lee- at last that Oscar nomination has come! On a side note, with the picture he holds up, Jason must be talking about the 1980 Oscars, due to the "Apocalypse Now" win being mentioned.
That random close up lol
"This wasn't my life" hit me too JLC
This made me tear up!
It seems like she’d be a great friend or neighbor or aunt 😁
CONGRATS TO THE LOVELY SWEETEST DARLING BRILLIANT MIND-SET HARD WORKING JAMIE LEE CURTIS...GOOD LUCK AT OSCARS NIGHT.. SWEETHEART
She is absolutely excited about this. I just love that. I think she may be a bit buzzed.
I do not think it was any accident that her name was called last. She reacted to that thinking "its not gonna happen" the way "they" knew she would and BOOM! It was my first thought when I watched the nominations.
Love 💖💖💖💖
She should be nominated for True Lies, what a pity!! Well...anyway, Oscar finally recognizes her this time.
Of course about Jamie Curtis and Jodie Foster's moment of 2023 Oscar Nominations indeed!
Ah jamie love you ❤️
7:10 I am appalled at how nerdy I am about to seem, but I do know my Oscar history: JLC presented that Oscar to Vittorio Storaro on April 14, 1980 and not 1974 as the reporter states.
“In show off business”
Lol, exactly.
Her being horror movie won’t get her any awards but this time I hope she wins
Apocalypse Now came out in 1979, so the Oscars presentation was held the year after.
She looks more and more like her mother, Janet Leigh. So beautiful.
Woah that close up wtf
7:14. If she was presenting an Oscar to Vittorio Storaro for Apocalypse Now, then it was 1980, not 1974. Just sayin'. :) And it makes sense that it's 1980 b/c that was post 1978 Halloween fame and in 1974 she would have been a "nobody".
Who is the interviewer - did he do ANY fact checking ? Jamie and George Hamilton presented the Cinematography Oscar in 1980 NOT 1974. In fairness Jamie's memory is a little fuzzy too - as what she actually said is "And the winner is Vittorio Storaro for Apocalypse Now"
Friday the 13 has paid the mortgage on her properties and put her kids thru college.A well deserved Oscar is in order.
Girl are You kidding?
Apocolypse F*cking Now. I love this woman.
1:41 wtf was that zoom into her eyeballs.
Michelle Yeoh you are soo Good with full of feeling in EEAAO...but you are Yellow....
Hollywood has lost Austin Majors a Hollywood Icon.
If it wasn't for Angela Bassett, I would want her to win.
She has no chance of winning but my word... it's long overdue!
She won the SAG unexpectedly. That’s usually the precursor to the Oscar statuette. It’s 50/50 toss up now
@bjornjohansen5397 Well that didn't age well. Jamie Lee Curtis made history by being a 1st time nominee and a winner at the same time. Long live JLC!
@@sakuraitonen5886 Haha. I still dont believe she should have won but I'm also not unhappy that she finally got recognized. Should just have been for a different role decades ago. And she's not the the first 1st time nominee to win. In fact, the majority of winners are usually first time time nominees. There have been loads and loads of them.
Sad the bleeps were adults
Love her, but I think she is a bit hypomaniac !!!!!!!
This is a creep
