This command worked for me :
esxcli software vib install --depot /vmfs/volumes/datastore1/Patches/ESX~.zip
/Patches/ is where I store my patches. Your path might differ.

Why we should turn off VM's. Instead of that Host enter MM and once update done exit from MM. If want to turn off VM's we should get approval from them right?
But nice explained

what if Vmotion in setup in our environment then also we need to stop all VM or not for rebooting ?

If vmotion configured no need to power off the vm's. Instead poweroff you can move to available hosts.
