Very good budd, quick question I have a physical adapter assigned to 2 port groups ( management and VM's on vswitch0 and vkernelnic0 how can I add another physical adapter to this setup? the only option is to add it as an uplink but that is not what I want. So the objective is to have 2 different physical adapters connected to the same vswitch but not as an Uplink hope that makes sense Cheers
Very good question. The video ruclips.net/video/YcrSmxwOp5o/видео.html shows how to assign an IP address for the 2nd physical network adapter. Hope it will solve your problem.
I have situation where I have only single uplink with vms inside esxi with different subnet. My question is how to make all the vms accessible locally and external network?
All the VMs are always accessible locally as they are connected to the host. To communicate between VMs on different Subnets, you need routing function between the (sub) networks.
Thanks for great video. I have configured 2 LAN cards.....one connecting with local network IPs range and one directly with ISP switch for assigning live static ip. i created separate port group and virtual switch for each nic. Than assigned live IP nic to one of virtual machine and configured live IP in that machine but i m unable to access virtual machine via live IP. i am new to it as previously i used vmware workstation and there was option Bridge replicate physical nic but how can it be done in esxi 6.7. i m unable to access virtual machine with live ip from internet. vmware host physical nic is showing a different live ip which is accessible/ping from internet but how to bridge it with virtual machine or where i have to fix this.
@Huda TechTalk could you please help: I have one real ESXi server , I created three VMs for three Nested ESXi alll of them got IPs from external DHCP server in the same switch , All the VM inside these nested hosts can not detect the external DCPC , i did many configuration ,port switch and distributed switch but also not detected
Generally, you will need 2 networks/cards, one is for management network and the other one is for data network. If you are using VM, you can have maximum 10 LAN cards.
@@HudaTechTalk hello sir, thanks for reply. i was using vm esxi6.7 with free license now tell me. i was make my old pc as esxi machine that have built-in 1giga ether port, i want to use 2 more external lan card for data in & data out is that possible in esxi free license. thanks i wll wait for reply
@@khberv I did nothing other than adding the "Test' port group. Note that, it didn't change from N/A to 0 for the port groups that were already there (1 for each vswitch). It only changed for the newly created port group (Test). After having 2 port groups on vswitch 1, you can add VMs with the 'Test' port group and that's why it shows 0 instead of N/A. Listening to the audio description from little behind might help. Thanks.
how to setup network using pfsense, i want create vm for backend apps in private network with NAT and connected to internet from WAN and one vm with public access (web server), so when i want access my backend vm it must from web server as a jumper, i can't access backend vm directly via ssh from internet. how to config vsphere network like that Huda, thank you
So clear cut and accurate explanation. Thank you very much!
Thank you very much for this analysis, it was very well illustrated and clear. Good job!
I find this tutorial very helpful.
Thank you so much. It was greatly helpful! I was wondering why my ports say VMs are N/A :)))) Thanks again
Excellent explanation. Thank you.
Nice one, I found that very helpful. Thank you.
Thanks
nice job- very well explained; thank you
is the vS0 can also be use for Heartbeat network?

You are God's sent my friend
I installed windows server 2019 on esxi but no network (internet). What should I do?
You need to configure the gateway and DNS server IP to get Internet. Without correct gateway IP and DNS server IP, you won't get Internet in the VMs.
@@HudaTechTalk No internet adapter, I cannot
I understand now it's related with ports on server, connected reqiered port and it works

@@nasimbro360 It is possible. Please also check (1) ESXi 6.7 minimum hardware requirements and (2) ESXi 6.7 free limitations.
I surprised VMs column value changed N/A to 0 immediately, but you didn't show what you have done middle of scene 🤔🤔
@@khberv please let me know the time of the video at which you noticed the change. I will check.. Thanks.
