Excellent video! Really enjoying your videos. Extremely knowledgable and something as simple as how deep to put that carrot just saved me on my setup; instructions were incorrect how deep to place the carrot compared to your carrot positioning. And learned when to calibrate the system! Can confirm your customer service is amazing. Would be cool to see a moisture meter tutorial/troubleshooting next.
Adjustment is important and making the right one is even more important.. when starting up, venting in turn and never let the tank get empty, would get me a larger tank in your place and set it a little higher, then you won't have the problems
Loving the videos, I know it is almost the same but do you have a setup video like this for soil beds and blusoak tape? How many carrots would you use on like a 4x4 bed with blusoak?
I"m wondering about my Blumats carrots. I really like the system! However, i only have two carrot sensors left, because the plastic threaded part have split. The first year i used them, no problem, the second year, i was removing them from the garden i notice a couple had cracked, after the third year most of the have split. Now 4 years and i have one left. One thing i noticed is that the one i have left, the plastic looks a bit darker green then all of the other sensor's, so i'm guessing the plastic is different. Any pretty bummed. I'll still try to use the single sensor and dripper emitters.
I have kept my gravity fed systems consistently pressurized by a small pump and timer pushing water to an elevated reservoir, with at least twice as much overflow plumbed back into the source reservoir below, which also allows for aeration of the water and multiple means of filtering the water that the 8mm lines eventually draw from. Can help to keep your elevated res temps down as well. Also do not clean the caps with hydrogen peroxide solutions I have had many fail and the diaphragm crack from doing so. Excellent product regardless of their learning curve!!
Iv gor 6 of these bluemats I have 100lt watwr but What attachment do I need to connect it to the but. I.e a 6 port water outlet like on a air pump any info be great thank you
would you recommend these to deliver nutrient solution to pots of coir or would the salts drying up clog the emitters? are they suitable for a commercial sized setup? could i add a pump to pressurize my main feed line?
Hi Wayne. Yes you can absolutely use Blumats with nutrients, but make sure you read this blog post first www.sustainablevillage.com/blog/guide-to-nutrients-and-blumat-systems. We work with many large commercial growers who love using Blumats: Time savings, economic savings and happier plants! Yes, you can absolutely add a pump to pressurize your main line. Should the little brown caps be fully tightened when filling up he carrots and setting up? And then opened after setting them up in the soil and clearing the lines of air?
Should be mentioned that there is quite a bit of extra parts needed to purchase separately even when buying the kit. Or just change your description when saying what’s needed per 5 gallon pot. One carrot is what’s recommended but don’t say that 3 distribution drippers are necessary along with the one carrot that dosent come with the kit . Or 2 carrots per 5 gallon pot..
hi guys. i bought from you via a friend who lives in the us cuz blumat here is charges as if it was made in pure gold ( I swear). I wish I saw this before. For a notill pot (100L) do you think I truly need the tensiometer/moisture meter? its almost 1000 reais wich feels like paying at least 500 dollars for you guys. Tks (I bought the 6 tropf kit, btw)
@@BigRift Great question! We don't include them because they are not completely necessary. I don't use them in my grow, but some people swear by them...it's all a matter of preference. Also, we'd rather not send out pieces of plastic that may not end up being used.

Thank you so much Andrew! I'll add a Moisture meter tutorial/troubleshooting video to our list, we really appreciate the feedback.
11:48 looked like a magic trick for a second xD
Best blumat video on RUclips, thank you.
Attach the end of the input hose to a fishing bobber to avoid pressure problems
Glad theres a video on this eventfully. Great tips!
I'm getting ready to setup a system on a 3x3 living soil bed id love some walk through
Thanks, everything I need to know, getting ready to hook up my Blumats for the first time
Well done 👍. Thanks 🙏.
Thats a lot of conditions.
Oops, the cap was on wrong in the inset. It’s possible to damage the tubing that way. There are different size slots in the cap.
Yeah, looks like the cap is possibly pinching the tube

When I hand watering my planet with nutrient should I close the blue mat system or I keep it run ? And should I reset it after every hand watering ?

If using plain water, would it be best to keep the water moving to prevent stagnation or is it fine just sitting for a few weeks?
13:38 dam he got his water reservoir on wifi?
Do I need an aerator for my reservoir?

Would it not be smart to add a mesh screen on your that screws on the bulkhead to prevent clogs

Yes
Why is half this stuff not included with the kits uggh. Such a nightmare
1 carrot 4 drippers per 3 gallon pot of coco. Sound about right.?
Was using 1 carrot and the 1 one dripper never fully saturated the medlia..
How do these work with soils using some vermiculite?
Honestly that sounds like a yikes. And by that I means a “no go”

Right I just had to spend an extra 100 dollars on extra tubing and the distribution drippers.
@@growersplus hows your set up going? What size pots and carrot are you using?

Which size from blumat is best for smartpot 3 gal ?
Are caps to prevent the tops from moving included?
the caps are not included, you can buy them here: www.sustainablevillage.com/Blumat-Protective-Cap
