If you like to sew bedding is a great place to get fabric. Also your neck measurement is typically half your waist measurement so if you hold up a waist of pant around your neck and it touches it will fit you. If it over laps then they will be too big and if they don’t touch it will be too small.for the days you forgot to wear leggings or tights. Try it with pants you already have. You will be surprised.

I've found that although most hospice and other charity thrift stores do not have as big of selection as VV, their prices and sales are much better (better than 20%). Also their proceeds go towards the charity that they represent.

I haven’t bought any new clothes for years. If I go into a normal shop now I am taken aback by the regular prices. My tip is to look for quality labels. They last longer, tend to be better quality and more timeless and if you need to get rid of an item at a later stage they tend to retain their value on the reselling market better.

Thrift stores are now becoming very expensive. It’s not common for me to find brand new clothes in the clearance rack in department stores for much less than a used one in the thrift shop.

To our world and people, I challenged myself to start buying 2nd hand and not support fast fashion, the work conditions are so incredibly awful and sometimes even children are involved

I love taking my responsibilities to our planet 🫶🏻
And also grandma clothes are the cutest so…..

Every day when I leave my house I count up the percentage of what my outfit is thrifted or purchased used online.
The majority of the time, my socks and undies are the only items that were purchased new. Very rarely do I buy anything new, and when I do, it's off the clearance rack or purchased from TJMaxx and Ross. I seek out used 100% cotton knit sleepwear because hardly any place sells it new anymore. Way less expensive this way! And better for the environment. I've always been a fan of thrifting, 40+ years and counting.
I love your girl's channel, BTW!

I also take things I'm trying to color match, just a swatch or paint chip. Makes things a whole lot easier.

I love Thred Up! I get compliments on my stuff all the time and people are blown away when I tell them it’s secondhand. It’s perfect for when you have certain brands you want to keep wearing, like American Eagle jeans or need Torrid for plus sizes.

I love these hacks and tips! I have bought 1 brand new hoody, otherwise all my clothes are second hand for the last 5 years. I loathe fast fashion so it's easy! 😊

I got a handful of original US releases of Sailor Moon books from Good Will...with the help of Amazon. Idk how many thrift stores are on Amazon, but for books online, listing really helps them find their home instead of being sad on the bookshelf in the thrift store. Yes, I know Manga Purists are going to rag on that edition, but that's the one I got from my library, and I love it so much I want to revisit them again and again.

@tina c I don't buy a lot of physical books. Just ones I can't get digitally or the physical properties of the book itself, like size reference or accurate color reproduction.

I use to shop when bored n Nothing to do 100% shopaholic type A .. now 5 years late I have brought few items & shoes new as hard to find what I was looking for in thrifting.. and few from no buy .. I hate going shopping now ..

If you are seeking pieces that will survive the tests of time, choose classics. Basics give you the opportunity to learn to mix your pieces.
Tim Gunn has a list of basics that every woman needs in their wardrobe.
