I love that you chose the cheapest way first. Even though it didn't work for the extreme curves, where it didn't break demonstrated you could still do this in a smaller ripple-ly version and get a similar look if you didn't want to invest in the flex board. I hope you continue this series it is definitely one of my favorites.
I adore Becky’s attitude! She is just so lighthearted, positive and fun. When there was a setback as the MDF snapped, she wasn’t remotely discouraged or even annoyed!
I can’t get over the lamp shade. It looks the exact same. It’s proof that these companies charge extortionate prices. I’ve really missed the “that cost how much “ series. Please do more like this. Thank You. xxx
Companies like this only sell to people who are looking to spend a lot of money for something really specific. That's kind of what the sorry girls go after, I wish they liked more normal things but they choose designer stuff to replicate
Great job Beck's 🎉❤ I think the cb2 replica looks great but would be made even 'more better' if you used a rechargeable light bulb in the lowest shade so the light reaches that one too 🤩
Ok, the fact that Becky made the book shelf out of wood products instead of plastic products, is awesome! (The bookshelves I looked at are plastic) She knocked it out of the park! The lamp shades are spot on!! The only thing I would do is clean them! Stains come out easy! Still, you really couldnt see it! Thank you for these 2 amazing DIY'S! Will recreate when we move!! 😁
SO IMPRESSED!!! What a privilege that I get to sit here and watch this amazing video knowing it took you guys hours to plan and accomplish and execute and film!!! You are amazing.
Could the bookshelf have been made even more affordable if made with a thin aluminum sheet? I think the original is metal right? It would also be cool if the book support portions were covered with book covers/bindings to make everything look like it was floating.
The lamp shade is so cool! I think adding a veneer band to the inner side too would have looked really good (as the trim looks in the original CB2 one). The bookshelf looked very cool too!
fun! taking it a step further and cutting the edge banding in half width wise and also wrapping them all int he same high quality linen would feel even closer!
Okay this is good. I think the drum shade would be the hardest to get at a low price but it's hardwired giving it a finished look. Beautiful lamp. I'll never look at lampshades the same after seeing this.
The CB2 lampshades/lamp will be one that I actually try. I’ve got a bunch of shades I’m not using and yours turned out great. Thanks for the inspiration and idea!
I think you'll want to consider too before you heat up the shade with an iron, I think the iron has to be set on cotton for the glue to work, And not all but most lamp shades have a plastic lining now... I have no doubt lining will melt and worp. I would consider finding a test patch if possible... or even a test shade. It is surprising even the number of higher quality lampshades that have a plastic interior lining😢. Although not all lamp shades for sure Just something to be aware of hoping to share the knowledge
LOLOLOOLOL, I said that lamp looks like 3 different lamp shades, and then you showed that!!! Sooooo goood!!! And I'm so glad your bookshelf came out@@@ She's so pretty!!! They both are gorgeous!!!
I am curious to know just how long this lasts. Because this uses a light bulb (that is hot1) I also wonder IF it is fire safe? Many cloth type materials are not!
You could use extra book covers to cover up the bookends too! Make them look like all the books are floating. Also, instead of wood for the bookshelves, some hardware stores have 1/8" plastic sheets which would be more flexible and it comes in white!
These came out sooo good. I really believe the MDF could have worked if it was a less intense curve or some steaming. I don't know where I'd put it, but I really want to try the pendant shade now
Is the expensive bookshelf made out of metal? It looks like thin aluminum. Your lamp looks as good as the expensive one. I think I would have started adding the smallest shade to the next size up, first, just so it could be wired a little tighter, but that was still a very cool projects.
The way I would improve on the DIY Kartell bookshelf is - take bookcovers (which would require pulling apart books, which I do not condone) or buy some of those alternative dustjackests (plenty of 'em on ETSY) and cover the wood pieces that hold the entire thing together, creating an illusion of true floating shelf.
I love your videos. Have you thought about including your helper in the video... In this case Rochelle? You include Austin in your videos. It would be fun to see Rochelle's personality with yours. You're both fun.
Honestly, just the addition of edge banding on the lampshades is a great hack for making super-simple lampshades look more expensive.
yah literally even if it was just one, and not tiered!!! sooo cute
Bsnm😊
On the lamp: I fully expected Rachel to pop in to create it😂.
@@MBMCincy63 LOL
I think it would be cool to cover the shelves on the bookshelf with dust/book jackets, so that it gives the illusion the books are floating!
Genius
haha i thought of that too!! would look so cool!
I thought she was just going to use like clear book ends

yah! hoping some people even try this as a single floating shelf and not even a full wall piece! would love to see that

Yay, a that costs how muchhhh! episode once again, with BECKY!
loveee to see it!
@@brookeobscura wish I could like this more than once
Love both of the hacks. You "Sorry Girls", have helped all of us to have high end looking homes. You are more precious than gold.
I actually really like how it looks with the shades being different colors! It’s kind of fun that way!
Ply wood when wet and heated is bendable, we used to use it for making mock ups of sculptures in art cool.
Great job Beck's 🎉❤
I think the cb2 replica looks great but would be made even 'more better' if you used a rechargeable light bulb in the lowest shade so the light reaches that one too 🤩
i was trying to think of how she could put a lower light in, great idea!
Back to the old school episodes! I've missed these.

@@rainbownarah it could just be screwed in by the shelves?
The original is by designer Ron Arad and is steel, but then Kartell bought the rights and made it out of plastic
Also you can bend MDF more easily with water, but you would have to form it on the floor to let it dry, then hang.
The lamp shade is so cool! I think adding a veneer band to the inner side too would have looked really good (as the trim looks in the original CB2 one). The bookshelf looked very cool too!
I really like the slight variation of shade colors in Becky's lamp!🥰
It’s beautiful 😍
Me too!
The veneer on the lampshades look so good! I'm going to have to keep that idea in my back pocket for future decorating adventures in my own spaces
fun! taking it a step further and cutting the edge banding in half width wise and also wrapping them all int he same high quality linen would feel even closer!
I love this series! So fun! You recreate things I would actually make for my home! Becky, your creative eye is great!
I love the lamp shade pendant. The worm bookshelf is cute to, great for a kids room.
Okay this is good. I think the drum shade would be the hardest to get at a low price but it's hardwired giving it a finished look. Beautiful lamp. I'll never look at lampshades the same after seeing this.
I absolutely love the lampshade! So smart!!
You could use book covers to camouflage the wall attachement
becky is absolutely rocking that harness omfg. the girlboss energy
I haven’t watched ya’ll in so long 😭😭 this was very calming to watch :]
welcome back, stay a while 😘
Teamwork makes the dream work! Rochelle and Becky, these look awesome 👌 I look forward to seeing the Sorry Girls every weekend ❤
My fav “ that cost how much “ - EVER 🥰
That bookshelf is sooo cool! My mind is blown! The pendant also turned out beautifully!
Becky, really impressive dupes. I'm impressed with how easy the lamp dupe was.
THAT LAMP! I'm making that!!! I Love it❤❤❤❤❤
I love the lamp shade! And hats off for figuring out the worm bookshelf!!!!!!!
OMG Becky's harness is soooo great! I need a link!
Yay I love this series!!
we do too 🥹
Becky, you absolutely killed it!! I love this series.
Wow! Fantastic job. Love seeing Rochelle working on this too; she's a real gem!! Love "That cost how much" stuff, Sorry Girls!
Fabulous job on both items!! Who doesn't want to create the same thing for hundreds less??!! I love it!! 💜❤💜
That was amazing. Watching the Sorry Girls remake high end products cheaper is AWESOME❤❤❤🇨🇦
I NEED THAT HARNESS
I was really expecting you to use metal garden edging for the book swirl, but that flexi stuff worked well! The lamp shade was great!
You all are fearless creators. You inspire me to try new things on my RUclips channel.
Of the twoprojects the lamp shape was my favorite. Thanks for sharing
You could always stain the shades with tea. Just be careful to stain evenly.
Love that light shade so much!
I love this channel because you don't hesitate to use used. I love the way these projects turned out.
You are one of the most competent DIY's on YT. You are magic. Smart to pencil it. We had the same thought at the same time.
I would love to see a version of the bookshelf done with acrylic by Rachel
The CB2 lampshades/lamp will be one that I actually try. I’ve got a bunch of shades I’m not using and yours turned out great. Thanks for the inspiration and idea!
Omg luv the shade. Both projects were great
Never a miss with The Sorry Girls!!!
Talent just exceeds everything great jobs. You are fantastic. I love the chandelier lamp. Wow!
These are both so incredibly well done and honestly one of the easier and more accessible and doable DIYs! 💖
I love that shelf!! And the lamp i couldn't tell the difference at first. This video was impressive.
I love this series so much! please make more!!
That lamp shade is nice! Gotta try!
I seriously want to try my hand at that lampshade. Gorgeous!
Really love that you brought back this series. I love diy on a budget

Thanks Becky for convincing me to buy a harness. Soo cute!

Awesome job on both, Becky!! 👏🩷😊
Love your creative ideas 😍 If you drill the pilot holes on the side where you put the books you will never see them (11:29)
Omg so excited love this series !! But also love your house projects !!! You girls are awesome xxx
I am curious to know just how long this lasts. Because this uses a light bulb (that is hot1) I also wonder IF it is fire safe? Many cloth type materials are not!
I think she uses LEDs, which usually only get hot around the base (the lamp itself is cool to the touch)
I wonder if you could score the mdf to help it through the curves. Though using larger curves like you said would also help. Either way, love the idea
You could use extra book covers to cover up the bookends too! Make them look like all the books are floating. Also, instead of wood for the bookshelves, some hardware stores have 1/8" plastic sheets which would be more flexible and it comes in white!
Becky I looovveeee your outfit!!! And I was so sad when the book shelf broke! It had so much potential lol
Great job Becky, love both projects
These came out sooo good. I really believe the MDF could have worked if it was a less intense curve or some steaming. I don't know where I'd put it, but I really want to try the pendant shade now
yah if you even just wanted to a bookshelf that was one line that was wavy, it would be so cute
Becky the creative genius of all time 😍😎
The lamp is gorgeous! 😍❤️
The lamp turned out sooo good! When you did the side by side..I couldn’t tell which was yours and which was cb2
Have you used a pocket jig yet. I think you'll love it. And what about steam shaping it first with curve frame jigs. Lol. Wrote this before changes
The book shelf is giving Dr. Seuss vibes! Love it!
That is the coolest thing I've seen, lamp shade! I'm doing it!!!!!!
I loved the lampshade!!!!!!! Might have to give it a go ❤
Is the expensive bookshelf made out of metal? It looks like thin aluminum.
Your lamp looks as good as the expensive one. I think I would have started adding the smallest shade to the next size up, first, just so it could be wired a little tighter, but that was still a very cool projects.
If I made this I would try to have another light in the lowest shade to balance out the light spill
I really love the outfit you’re wearing it’s so cute 😍
The way I would improve on the DIY Kartell bookshelf is - take bookcovers (which would require pulling apart books, which I do not condone) or buy some of those alternative dustjackests (plenty of 'em on ETSY) and cover the wood pieces that hold the entire thing together, creating an illusion of true floating shelf.
The lamp is everything!!! ❤🎉
Wish you would do more of these. I adore the day dupes
light fixture came out great!
Beautiful lamp, such a good diy project! ❤
Also absolutely love Beckys harness belt! Where is it from? 👀
This is your best "That cost how much?" video! Loved the two projects!
Turned out awesome!!! I'd stain the shades, but you were trying to come the closest to the original, so I get it!
I don’t know if you can get it in Canada in stores… but for the shelf a bendable iron sheet would work great. I m not sure about the cost though.
I'm sure any linen lamp shades that are stained can be bleached. Final results for both products looked great!😊
On the middle lampshade, I'm concerned about how close the top of it will be to the lightbulbs. Be sure to use bulbs that are cool when lit.
Rochelle is a big asset to the TSG team. She's very talented, . Of course, so is Becky
That shelf is amazing!❤
I'd love to see you DIY one of the 70s Schönbuch Quadro chest of drawers! Or simillar space-age designs by Marc Held!
I have missed the old school studio DIYs!!!
I love your videos. Have you thought about including your helper in the video... In this case Rochelle? You include Austin in your videos. It would be fun to see Rochelle's personality with yours. You're both fun.
Could always use some fabric paint of the stained one 🩷 super cute!
Excuse me, can i take a moment to appreciate how good you're looking in the intro?
Your outfit is so cute!!!
I love that shade!
I love Wednesdays! A coffee and the new Sorry Girls ep. Couldn’t be better!
You can always paint the shade if it's not the right color, easy fix to save money. Good job on both!
6:00 I would totally paint the book ends to look like books!!
I almost feel like doing a coat of resin after it is shaped, would keep the wood from breaking, and not doing such sharp curves!
Anything Becky does is *chef’s kiss* 😘
