It's crazy to think that it took them 18 months to make what is arguably the best Fallout game, and it's going to take Bethesda 18 years to make Fallout 5.
and there could have been more. Obsidian several years ago pitched fill in games for Bethesda they could make for either fallout or elder scrolls while Bethesda worked on the main games and Todd said no.
Keep that in mind.
And Fallout 5 is still going to somehow be worse than FNV

I'm too old and have seen to much to care for Fallout 5 or any future game. If it's good it's good, if not it's not. Never preorder and buy DRM-free if possible.
Tbf game development is a lot longer now than it was 15 years ago

Man speed running is such an art. It’s really cool seeing people break the logic of these engines and use it to their advantage. It’s also great hearing the explanations too

Josh Is a great dev and human being i would trust him any day over Todd
Sadly I don't think he would accept to work on another AAA game, and I can't blame him honestly. I can only imagine the amount of stress.
Josh Sawyer deserves a well and true shot at a fully fledged, company backed, big budget Fallout game.

Hey Luke, in case you were curious, there’s varied reasons behind why speedrunners of various games use the Japanese language or version. As a former speedrunner of Super Mario Sunshine, we use the JP version because it has faster text as well as faster load times, roughly .65 seconds faster loads into the main hub after each mission over the American version of the game. This doesn’t make a huge difference really in any%, only about 5 seconds faster than the PAL version. But in the 100% category (aka 120 shines), it saves over a minute which is insane.
If you are at all curious about the Mario Sunshine speedrun, I’d check out AverageTrey’s RUclips channel, he has speedrun the game for almost 10 years now and has also made a bunch of speedrunning history videos documenting the progression of the game.

About your speech about keeping society function. I agree, I worked at those jobs. However, there is another job I think that even outclasses those jobs as unappreciated jobs that keep society functioning. So much more important. The extremely under appreciated garbage men. Imagine a society without garbage men.
There are no trash collection services in my county or the neighboring one, and we've been getting along fine since the 1700s

Yeah I currently work in medical waste management, and worked as a janitor in the past. Trust me man, garbage work is mostly driving. It's easy. However, trying to mop floors when folks are walking all over it is soul crushing. Janitors and cleaners have it worse. Not only that, dustmen work in teams, janitors don't. Having a mate next to you, doing the same job makes it so much better mentally. I hate to be contrary, cause I really did appreciate what you said haha thanks man.
Imagine being doc mitchell. You save a guy, he wakes up and then you look out your window to see him flying with a big iron out, then the entire political climate in the mojave gets turned on its head in like 10 minutes.

Fallout New Vegas is my all time favorite game I love the new viewership the games are getting but New Vegas is the best even though it’s the most unstable game I’ve ever played I still love it to death so worth it so happy that the show is bringing new people to the game if you haven’t played please give it a go you won’t regret it

I'm italian and I'm so used to english dubbing in games that italian sounds jarring to me now also.
German here and it's the same for me. Can't stand German dubbing at all anymore not even in movies or shows. German dubbs are mostly inferior to the original audio, because they are sort of clunky or lame and many jokes and nuances get lost due to it.
Didn't learn much as can speed run Outer Worlds in like 11-12 mins too. -)

New Vegas wasnt a creation engine game. That was the Engine they made for Skyrim. I forget what this engine was but it's the same one oblivion used

It would make sense if Bethesda would hand over fallout to a different studio to work on a new fallout game while their working on elder scrolls,maybe involve Tim Cain Josh Sawyer and Chris Avelone to work on it. Waiting 20 plus years for a new fallout game,and that's after elder scrolls get released is bs. Especially after the big hit of the show,they can't just let this franchise hang back while their working on the new elder scrolls game

There's no way in hell that MS paid that much money to allow Bethesda to take another 10 years to produce a new Fallout game.
We may not get 5, but we're going to get more games before the next 3-5 years.

I can't believe this game hasn't been remade by now. Dead Space was remade in something like 2.5 years. It's so much faster to remake a game than it is to make a new one. Even if New Vegas would take 3-4 years to remake because of the open world aspects and a higher number of NPC's, that's still around half the development time Fallout 5 is going to require. It's also way cheaper. How Microsoft didn't start that project as soon as they acquired the IP is mind numbing to me. The Fallout TV show would have been in very early pre-production, possibly still in the script shopping phase. Microsoft should have seen the timeline for the show and immediately put a New Vegas remake into production at whichever studio they had available, preferably Obsidian, but they would have been in early production of Avowed. That game looks like shit though so I'd have been fine with that game getting put on hold while the New Vegas remake became the priority lol. If the game would have taken a little more time than the show, then delay production of the show until the game was ready. So many sales and new Game Pass subscribers missed because Microsoft was too busy sitting in the corner drooling and staring at the wall like idiots. It's no wonder they're giving away their games for free and still can't get out of their distant 3rd place spot (4th place if you count PC).

the objective of an any% speedrun is to complete the game as fast as you can by any means possible. for those who do not enjoy watching glitched runs there is an entirely separate category for that
