Wait a second, s23plus and s23ultra have different displays?! resolution is not an issue for me but as far as i know they both have old last year displays for all s23 line.
I've been tempted on multiple occasions to give in to the lavender S23U with 512gb, but I'm still holding on to my burgundy S22U with 512gb. I came from the Note 10plus that was still performing great, but I'm trying to hold out for the S24U. In my past when I had extra disposable income I upgraded yearly, but now I have to be more conscious and frugal about my tech choices. This was an awesome video Adam and thanks for being so informative about the differences 🔥💯🔥💯🔥💯
Tbh, idk because it appears the same as the S23U except for AI and small camera changes. Btw, they both still look identical to my S22U, but I was trying to locate a 512gb S23U instead; however, they seem "out of stock" everywhere SMH@@ColoCulture
I ordered the S23 in graphite as well, I was tired of the same usual colors. So I don't mind waiting, I'm glad the extra credit got me two free cases. But I'm stoked for it to arrive. Thank you!
I turned in my S20 Ultra, at ATT, and got $1,000 off my S23 Ultra but, unfortunately, the rest is spread out over 3 years. But I pay a little extra to upgrade early anyway.
I did the same through my carrier. Traded my fold 3 for the s22 ultra. The fold kind of lost its appeal on me. It's still not as perfect as it can be. They basically have the same design from the note 20 ultra still today with the s23 ultra. The design is basically perfected in my opinion.
I've got everything turned up to the max and the battery is amazing on this phone. I came from a note 20 ultra 5g and thought that that was am amazing phone. This s23 ultra is phenomenal.
1 thing I noticed was all the leaders saying it was the Same phone as the S22 Ultra, 1 minute with the phone you can see it's a whole new animal-a Beast!
I got the S22U last year September and I was coming from an iPhone 13 pro Max & it was a let down until One UI 5 came in & yeah pretty much made it a super good phone but the heating was still an issue, however w the 23U, that faster storage is evidently helping One UI which is already a heavy skin and also super fast
To let anybody know, I was able to get $800 trade in from t-mobile for the s20 FE. I also own the Pixel 7 pro and despite differences, the s 23 ultra. is my favorite much more defined upgraded features vs the s 22 ultra
I use the s21 and love this phone, my only gripe has been having to charge it multiple times and so I've ordered the s23U and am excited to see such improvements on battery life
S23 Ultra is great upgrade from s22 Ultra in almost every department, the most important are chip, battery life and video quality. Apart of it animations are smooth finally and usage of this phone is sweet, BTW "Nightography" was already introduced with s22 series if Im not mistaken. In Czech Republic, for pre-order you got 512Gb option for price of base 256Gb + 10% of the price in Samsung rewards points + 140$ trade-in bonus + charger 25W for 1 cent.
10:37 I did that for my S10+ when S20 series was just around a month away, knowing that I'd lose the headphone jack, expandable memory and trade-in discounts with Vodafone's budget phones (mid-range at the time). Now, however: With my S10+ no longer getting OS update, and having already replaced my battery, and about to replace USB port because I can't do file transfer, I just sucked it up and got S23 Ultra 1TB on layby as soon as they say Exynos and Mali GPU are no more. I just need time to manually recover as much data as I can.
I have the OnePlus 11 and the battery life has lasted me 2 days with 7 hours of SOT. Its truly impressive thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and its beautiful LTPO 3 OLED panel
Same exact story go's for the S22+ vs the S23+ battery life rocks for the S23+ and lm stuck with the s22+ and every time i see coverage on the compares its depressing! Lol you are the man good review!
I upgraded to the s23 ultra from the pixel 6 pro. Huge difference but I do miss the basic pixel experience over 5.1. one UI takes a while to get used to.
I think many lifelong Samsung users like myself are still getting used to 5.1one UI Jay!..🤣🤣🤣 Hope you really enjoy your new phone. It really is a beast. 👍
Please make a video on the case. I have the cryo armor case. I'm thinking this is the one you're talking about. Samsung is now offering $600 for the S22 Ultra 5G.
and today its even more obvious how far apart the 22 and 23s are in the whole lineup even :) love the 23 ultra still and ill stay with it, just recently bought it for 600$ in very good condition too :D
Upgraded from s10, it's quite a bit of improvement in every aspect. I don't know what samsung can do to make me upgrade from s23 ultra at this point. I will keep this phone for a while for sure. One thing I would maybe change on this phone is the 3x telephoto lens , that's about it

Is it an OLED, AMOLED or sAMOLED display? Also it may just be me, but the cameras are further apart on the S23 Ultra than the S22 Ultra. Maybe the throttling has something to do with the fact that Samsung overclocked it from 3.2 GHz to 3.36 GHz.
It’s AMOLED. It’s a higher quality OLED screen. Technically it’s a super AMOLED but that means that the digitizer is combined with the screen. It’s not separate. The AMOLED is a regular OLED with an added TFT layer and they’re more flexible, and more expensive to make.
I order my Sky-blue 1TB on the 16th last 30 minutes of pre-order, I'm actually getting it quickly. It's going to me on Feb 21st and is already shipped to me right now! That's crazy the graphite color takes longer. What GB did you get? I guess this time Samsung stocked up on exclusive color 1TB models not like last year where there was no exclusive qTB available after preorder
It really is a great phone. I upgraded from a note 20 ultra. It's basically the same phone but better in every department. No expandable storage kinda sucks but it is what is. I got the 500 gb version and I don't see myself going through that in the next 3 years.
#1 reason why these cellphone manufactures sales profits are decreasing goes hand in hand with the prices they're charging these days for high end smartphones. More and more people are refusing to spend over $1500 Canadian for a phone. Then next phone these manufacturers release they decide to increase their price and then cry why their sales are so low. Duh it's because of the price they're being greedy to charge. High end phones use to only cost $500-600 Canadian dollar a few years ago and now prices have quadrupled in price for phone that still can make calls and texts and apps work all the same as phones that use to only cost $500-600 few years ago. People are speaking with their wallets and these manufacturers need to realize why their sales numbers are decreasing year over year. People are getting tired of being ripped off and just deciding to keep their current phones for 5-7 years because prices are getting way out of hand lately, specially when it only cost these manufacturers around $200 to manufacture these smartphones and then turning around and selling them for $2000 or more.
@@ohsocooll12342 very tiny tiny amount of people buy phones every two years. The s23 ultra got a overall score of 140 on Dxomark. it reflects what i was seeing in comparisons. No real improvements besides in the stabiliztion. some reviewers was hyping the camera but the actual results wasn't showing it. I here one ui has been draining the battery on the previous models.
The battery life on this device is amazing. I still need to get a 45w charging brick for it but as of right now, I can't believe how long this phone has lasted me without having to charge!
Got S23 Ultra for some days, installed some heavy games (Genshin Impact / Tower of Fantasy) and it runs good. And i want good phone to keep it for 4 years. That is possible because it's already so fast phone. If you buy less fast one like Pixel 7 Pro, even it's more cheaper, you can see some problems in the future, might not hold it for 4 years because better ones will come out and you want already change after 2 years. That is not worth money spend for long time. Think forward, buy S23 Ultra, and you should good for 4 years. I have S20 before and that is also 4 years ago. S20 stays here as second / backup phone, because S23 Ultra is so big i am afraid don't just stick in my back. Compared to Steamdeck, this has almost same screen size.... 7 inch vs 6.8 inch, but this time UHD. Sure it's much expensive one, but i plan to keep it for 4 years. Even i can change it again after 2 years... i keep it for 4 years and skip many as possible.
After having the s21 ultra and switching to the s22 plus I'm so happy I decided to go back to the ultra. The screen, battery life and performance are all top notch. Well worth the money.
Please see this. I think anyone and everyone who has a s23 ultra needs to try this. Use the edge of the phone to try and scroll. It's not recognizing touches, I tried it on the demo phone as well. Please this issue is huge if every phone is affected. I can't believe I haven't seen more people complaining about this. Just try it Please!
I got mine on AT&T trading in a galaxy s20 fe and they gave me a storage upgrade from 256 to 512 and I'm super happy with it so far got it days before launch for some reason
Hey Tech Odyssey, Samsung was not targeting S22 users with the S23. If you have an older version of Samsung, like I did, the incentives were there for sure. I got a $1000 trade in for my S10. Talking with my homie at ATT, Samsung was pushing to get their older models off the streets. Their phones are lasting a long time, and they are spending a lot on the back end trying to keep them all updated. At least that's my understanding with the S23.
Adam, ur KILLING me. Your videos caused me to do what I swore I would not do...trade my S21U for a pathetic $380. I keep looking at the "cancel order" button on my order email. Ugh!
Honest question... I recently switched back to my LG V60 cause I miss the 8-9 hours battery life compared to 5-6 hours on my S22 Ultra, even on FHD+ and 60hz I only get about 30 minutes extra. Is the s23 Ultra better than the v60 on battery life?
Thank you TechOdyssey: Off topic question. I notice that my lower speaker rumbles/vibrates more on the S23 ultra over my girlfriends s22 on higher volumes. I can place my thumb around the speaker and can feel the difference. Is this normal? Thank you very much.
i don't switch phones every few years i have no problem with the s22ultra at all i have charged it one time after a whole day of heavy usage and media consumption . charging a phone once a day is not the end of the world.
Do people really think that just because two phone generations use the same external design that they are literally the same phone all around!Personally, I don't care what phones look like. Sure, I like black/gray, slightly curved or flat screens, sharp ish corners, and a center selfie camera. However, I world never choose a phone because of these. The internals, software, and performance are like a million times more important imo.

But everything has been working exceptionally well. But it's still new for me. I'm hoping it'll be a long lasting addition until I'm ready to upgrade again.
S22 ultra battery life was shit for me. My year old s21 ultra got me more SOT. The s23U is the improvement the s21U/s22U needed and it's really amazing overall.
I got $1,000 for my note 9 and $350 off a watch 5 pro, plus $180 storage upgrade. $1,430 off the phone and watch to cost me $400 with tax for my 5 year old device. No way I could pass the greatest deal I've been given in 45 years.
@@TechOdyssey I was about to order through att, then I went to samsung, and with the note trade in they offered me the watch. I paid $1,100 for the 9 in 2018, used it, loved it, let my kids have it when I got the Note 20 Ultra, and then got $1,400 back. Bonkers.

The battery life has blown me away. I got 2 full days out of mine with moderate use.
Still getting the s24u ?
Absolutely!
1 thing I noticed was all the leaders saying it was the Same phone as the S22 Ultra, 1 minute with the phone you can see it's a whole new animal-a Beast!
People severely underestimate the importance of a long lasting battery. You sir, did not. Thanks for the helpful review!
Glad it was helpful!
Your bang on... I've got both, literally game changer, my s22u is off this week, s23u is now the king.. 👑
🥳
I got the S22U last year September and I was coming from an iPhone 13 pro Max & it was a let down until One UI 5 came in & yeah pretty much made it a super good phone but the heating was still an issue, however w the 23U, that faster storage is evidently helping One UI which is already a heavy skin and also super fast
That was one seriously good analysis @Rohan. Respect to you. 👍

To let anybody know, I was able to get $800 trade in from t-mobile for the s20 FE. I also own the Pixel 7 pro and despite differences, the s 23 ultra. is my favorite much more defined upgraded features vs the s 22 ultra
How does the battery life compare to the pixel 7 pro
@@Infamouskillah I am a heavy user, I get 2 more hours from the s23 sot.
I use the s21 and love this phone, my only gripe has been having to charge it multiple times and so I've ordered the s23U and am excited to see such improvements on battery life
For me the battery life is worth the upgrade from the S22 Ultra if you're a heavy user great video Adam 👍
You rock. Keep the info coming
Thank you. I’ll do my best.
I love the OnePlus 11. Such a good phone
@@TechOdyssey it definitely is a good phone. I did a trade in and only paid $360 for the OnePlus 11. Its very worth it.

This is a phone finally that I can keep for more than a few years . I went from s21u then s22u and now the s23u. I will keep this for a long time.
do you think the light mode affects taking photos or recording videos?
S23 ultra is device of the Decade!! Loving it!! Samsung is on 🔥
Loving S23U so far. Took some great photos with the zoom at the zoo today. I was coming from S10e so a big change.
Yes. That’s the one. I’ll see when it gets here. It looks pretty cool - pun intended.
and today its even more obvious how far apart the 22 and 23s are in the whole lineup even :) love the 23 ultra still and ill stay with it, just recently bought it for 600$ in very good condition too :D
Hi, How long can the S22 ultra and S23 ultra last on a fully charged battery?
Upgraded from s10, it's quite a bit of improvement in every aspect. I don't know what samsung can do to make me upgrade from s23 ultra at this point. I will keep this phone for a while for sure. One thing I would maybe change on this phone is the 3x telephoto lens , that's about it
Going from the s10e, to the 23 ultra. This jump is gonna be crazy lol
I've upgraded from the s21ultra to the s23ultra,,no regrets!!,,I live in the UK so we got the exynos soc in the previous versions,,the Snapdragon was my main reason for upgrade! Whaat a difference!
Nice video Adam! The S23 Ultra looks really nice.
Thanks. It’s fancy for sure.
Upgraded from 22 ultra and I gotta say it night and day with battery which makes me very happy as a power user . I haven't used my iphone 14pro since I got the 23ultra
didnt you miss the iphone 14 pro video camera capability which is superior to s23 ultra ?
@@becauseofn4834 I only really notice the stabilization on the 14 pro is better to my eye they look the same and s23 ultra has 8k and with the 512gb upgrade you can actually use it . On the 13pro you couldn't even use pro mode if you didn't have at least 256gb
Is the s23 faster than the iPhone?
@@unnikrishnanharish4658 yes also the galaxy has a developer option you can lower the frame rate to 0.5 shit is speedy as fuck blows iOS outta the water
@@TechOdysseyAny black pixels on AMOLED displays are turned off completely, helping to save battery.
Did you do a review on the cryo armor case?
Earlier this year I believe I did. Solid case.
@@TechOdyssey thanks. I'll look it up on your videos page.
Same thing and I agree

I'm from USA living in India and I picked the 23 Ultra up preorder. One thing I've noticed that here the 256gb variant comes with 12gb ram. While in Europe and USA, 256gb comes with 8gb ram.
Strange.
I just checked a few Samsung international websites, Europe and USA are like getting the 8GB of RAM, Africa and Asian will get the 12GB with the 256base models
Only the US version has mmWave, but that goes for most phones
Great video, thank you .
Glad you enjoyed it
Ugh that lavender color 😍😍😍
It’s fancy!
Let me ask a question, I paid less than $600 for a Pixel 7 Pro, is the 23 Ultra really worth $1200, more then double the price of the 7Pro ?
Nope. It's not. Video about this tomorrow. Just finished recording it
The s23 ultra got a overall score of 140 on Dxomark. it reflects what i was seeing in comparisons.
Totally agree. Love the phone. I traded my s22ultra for the s23ultra with 1tb storage.
Ugh!
I just wish we could switch between lenses when recording at uhd 60 fps!
Maybe next year.
@@TechOdyssey wish it was this year, the phone should be powerful enough you would think. What fps do you shoot at usually?
Battery life already improve a lot at S22 ultra after one ui update...a lot of improvement from samsung
Nice!
No the speaker is junk

S22 Ultra S could make sense, but would great the cycle of them naming the phones after the current year.
My friend, is the selfie camera in the s23 Ultra better than the S22 Ultra, answer to the question?
Watching this on July 5th 2023 and Samsung is now offering 750 for the s22 Ultra and they dropped the price of the 512GB to 1199. Glad I waited!
Verizon had the awesome deals , 800.00 for a broke Z flip 3 and upgraded to the 512GB for the cost of the 220GB
i don't switch phones every few years i have no problem with the s22ultra at all i have charged it one time after a whole day of heavy usage and media consumption . charging a phone once a day is not the end of the world.
I upgraded from the S22. And I'm glad I did. This is perfection. I may actually keep this phone for two years
That thumbnail was hard to tell. It is like holding two iPhones up and saying guess which one is the newer one.
That’s what happens when Samsung makes the phone look identical lol
The s23 ultra is very impressive..super fluid, battery, camera, the legendary features from Samsung in general. My best Tech buy besides the Fold 4.
Ok I'm late to the party I'm just picking up the s22 ultra in 2024 after upgrading my s21 ultra. And so far it's been just as good as my s21 ultra which I wasn't sure it would do. But everything has been working exceptionally well. But it's still new for me. I'm hoping it'll be a long lasting addition until I'm ready to upgrade again.
Did you see the trade-in update?

Know what? S23 ultra is just a beast! Speaker , camera, battery life !! Omg ! Impressed me !! A good buy to s23ultra !
The s23 ultra selfish camera is night and day better than the s22 ultra.
It’s very good. I wasn’t trying to say it wasn’t. I was mentioning how one of the things that used to set the ultra apart was having a much better selfie than the S22 and the Plus, and now all three have the same. I feel like the Ultra should still have a better one for the price and being the “ultra” phone
@TechOdyssey no I get what your saying. It set the Ultra apart from the rest but the selfish in the s23 series is better than before. Same on all s23 series instead of just the Ultra though.
