  • In this lesson, I will be teaching you about five easy ways to improve your rhythm fast. A big problem a lot of students have is that they treat rhythm as an afterthought in their music. One tip I have for you is to make sure you learn fundamental rhythm concepts such as quarter notes, eighth notes, time signatures, and simple counting of beats. If you find rhythmic patterns in your piano music, you should be looking them up and learning them. I also recommend you clap or play along with rhythmic exercises on a regular basis to develop your rhythm technique.

great lesson! that is def my problem, i am playing the notes and song correctly, but my rhythm is off. but i think the thing is, it's a matter of understanding rhythm, learning to apply it to piano playing and eventually gaining the experience using rhythm in piano playing. rhythm is one i really have to work on. getting caught up on your videos after getting behind on them. one more video to go.

I think that is pretty common Adria. A lot of my students are great at reading the notes but they kind of just guess on the rhythms.

i really don't guess at what the rhythm is. i just play what is in front of me. rhythm completely throws me off, just confuses me. i know what rhythm is and now understand it better than i did before. see you in the next stream.
