I absolutely LOVE this band and have seen them 11 times total. I don’t know what it is about the music they made but it just spoke to me from the first listen. Something that Aaron Turner (vocals, guitar) said when asked why he growls instead of sings was “it doesn’t matter what I’m singing about or the words, what matters is the music.” And to me that is EXACTLY what matters. I got to meet a few guys and they were very down to earth and super appreciative. They’re originally from Boston, Mass and relocated to L.A. and are now no longer together unfortunately. They played a show a few years ago but said that probably wouldn’t happen too much more. The reason they gave for their breakup was they had said all they wanted to and the band had run its course.
“Backlit”to me is the quintessential ISIS song and represents what they were about. Such a beautiful and well written song.

This album is a 10/10. insanely good!
As i started hearing Metal, my nevue introduced me to ISIS. I liked them very much......and i was so happy to see them live in Germany 2009. As i said, i started into Metal and this concert was one of my first and i was so blown away. But at the end i was so frustrated, because Aaron told us all, thats their Farewell tour and ISIS will split up after this.
so the first time you get to see them is the last tour they do? Well I am glad you got to see them and that they made an imp[act on you! Welcome!
It wasn't bad - I enjoyed the laidback vibe of it...nice for a breezy, late summer afternoon....but, I would have edited at least 2 minutes off of it.....
Close your eyes, kick back, get a pair of REALLY good headphones/airpods and let the music take control.
