In the early 1990s, I worked at a department store in a mall in Illinois. There was a man who often shopped there whose lower jaw was missing. He spoke with a voice box. I never found out what happened to him, but he was a really nice guy and I was always happy to see him.
Ok, I had to say this: I'm not trying to share too much, but here I go. I have medically diagnosed Autism, and severe PTSD. Ian, your narration is one of the few things that actually help me sleep. I will be forever grateful. Thank you for your hard work.
It's a quarter past midnight and the insomnia is keeping my brain swirling. Perfect time to relax under a fluffy blanket with Mr Gordon. I so appreciate your content, many thanks.

Hey Ian/HB! Thank you for the great stories this month! I've been a listener for about 5 years. I *really* like the new stuff, that is, from contemporary authors such as Tamlan Dipper. More of this, please!
@@HorrorBabblehey that's AFTER Xmas! 😢. Come on, in honor of the great M.R. James, you should tell us your new stories on Xmas Eve with a nice warm fire crackling away in the background!
I'm getting ready to relax for the evening, clicked on RUclips, and here you are! The work you put in to get these videos out is sincerely appreciated! I look forward to listening to this next collection! But first…
Great selection of stories and narration! I have listened to the last three before on your channel. The first one was new to me, and i really liked it. Boy...talk about a nightmare! Thanks!
Hi Ian. U are extremely active! I’m struggling to keep up! I’m just in the beginning of this, but I have to tell this- So, I know this guy who got into a big bar fight, and subsequently got bitten on the face! 😆. And as far as I know still has this war wound. My life….
@ 😹. T’was! Tis still, I imagine. 🕯️🎄 definitely a nasty situation. Got Hannibal Lecter’d on the cheek. I can only imagine how vicious and uncouth this brawl was. Teeth 🦷 pesky things.
Job Vacancy: Priest of Lost Atlantis. The two qualities that we’re looking for in applicants are hubris and stamina; stamina will be particularly important since the successful applicant will be expected to have to swim very long distances under extremely difficult and challenging conditions.
Concern appreciated! I did the same thing back in 2021. Of the 24 videos scheduled for the month, only two are left to complete. No need to worry, I plan these things well in advance. (Looking ahead to barren January... joke!)
Lmao thanks for the reply, i noticed a new video almost every day and my mind started wandering. "Is this guy going somewhere? This is an insane amount of content, is it being released to prepare us for a disappearance?"
Burks is divisive, I think. Very prolific, too. Lovecraft was a fan of Bells of Oceana though, appreciative of the 'outsideness' of the story. High praise indeed from HPL!
I am approaching mindful of your criticism. So far I'd say it is a bit contrived but no worse than Conan Doyle who often has a kind of meta-inevitability. What really grates for me is that the bit characters, like the corpsmen, 'sound' stilted. Not Ian's narration, but the text. Edit: After going through, I'd double down on the stiltedness being from earlier writers like Conan Doyle. And I liked the latter stories more. The ship shenanigans in particular.
I agree; they are very dry and incredibly slow. The only one of these stories which I really enjoyed was 'Church in the Jungles' because it was short, to-the-point and very atmospheric.

Thank you for listening to HB!
I have to add that the HB collection of all the Cthulhu work by Lovecraft is crazy good value. Dozens of hours.

You spoil us, HB! Many thanks, friends!
You are on an absolute roll with all these wonderful stories.

Ian, your narration is one of the few things that actually help me sleep. I will be forever grateful.
Thank you for your hard work.
Thanks for sharing. I'm glad I can be of some minor help in that respect.
@HorrorBabble your welcome. And it's a major help.
Thank you again, sir.

I so appreciate your content, many thanks.
I just love these 20s-30s era horror stories ❤
Same. The interwar period is a nice and oddly comfy setting.
Many thanks. This is the best channel!
Thank you for all the horror stories, Mr Gordon!
With any luck, we shall have a Ghost Story for Christmas...
One or two!

Ian! Ty for all the long vids recently, can’t wait for a potential original this Christmas season (fingers crossed)
Due Dec 26th!

Yes sir! 😂
Seriously though, thank you for the work you put into making these!
I am loving all the variety lately! Thank you! ❤️
Fantastic! Thanks as always 😊

Really enjoyed it. It seems that he had a very good pen. No need to mention the narration. Thanks Ian.
It is 7 degrees fahrenheit out with -15 wind chill. Good night to relax with some weird tales.
Btw, The reanimator was outstanding.
Yikes!
@@HorrorBabble No Worries, it got up to 14 today.

It's in the post.
"Bells of Oceana"... ships, the sea and horror, a trifecta of terror😈
I love all the videos but don't burn yourself out.
With the exception of the Christmas Special on the 26th, everything else is scheduled now. :)
Im a little concerned at your upload schedule. Are you ok?

I'm not a fan of these stories. The quality of the writing could be better, in my opinion. The quality of the narration didn't suffer, though!😉

Early AM
Warren died in front of a live audience tonight. It was awful. He has ZERO talent for stand up comedy.
I wasn't there, but I heard he gave a rather stiff performance.
