    Hi, i love your performance!
By the way, do you think that speed is good for an audition?
I have an audition soon, and I don't know which tempo could be the best.
Hope yo can answer, also thanks for the lessons.

Hi Alfonso, yes and no, it depends on the excerpt. For Smetana in particular: I play the fastest possible tempo yet all the notes must be there. Though there is nothing wrong using the fast tempos of top modern orchestras, it is usually more convenient to choose a slow, romantic 20th Century Karajan Tempo since they are the most popular and well known. Once I made I mistake and played Beethoven 5 too fast, two or three notes were gone and so the Job. The conductor says I chose a good tempo, but it's better just a bit slower: bigger halls, steel strings and modern instruments should be considered before using an historical tempo. Basses had gut strings and where considerable quieter in the time the excerpts where composed. Cheers

@@max.domante Thank you so much for your response, it makes some things clearer to me, I'll take your advise of the most well known tempos for the excerpts, some times I try playing too fast, and i get a little nervous and make a lot of mistakes. So thanks again!

No chance to win an audition in Austria or Germany without solo tuning. Sometimes they say it on the announcements for jobs (Deutsche Bogenhaltung und Solostimmung vorausgesetzt) Cheers
