  • Pecron E1000, 1000watt Portable Power Station is by far the best bang for your buck and $400 cheaper than the Jackery 1000. There's no better price point for this size of Portable Power Station that packs this kind of punch.
Today I'm going to show you how to actually use this in an RV in real world situations. The E1000 sells right now for $799 on Amazon, and sometimes Amazon offers a coupon with even more discounts. Pecron sells this for $699 on their website.
The Jackery 1000 sells for $1,099. That’s $400 more than the Pecron E1000.
The other thing is the form factor of this E1000. I love the way it’s flat on top.
This is huge when storing or carrying this in any type of RV or for transporting in a car or truck where you have a lot of other gear. You can easily store stuff on top on of this E1000. Or use the top as a table for your devices while you're charging them. You can’t do this with a Jackery.
I’m going to be showing you a lot of practical testing and applications that you & I would actually use this for while traveling and camping in your RV. I’ll be covering charging, using it with different appliances, recharging with solar and much more.
    • The E1000 has a 1028wh Lithium ion Battery with a 1000watt power rating and a 2000 power surge rating.
    • The usable capacity of the battery is about 93% which is huge. Units similar to this one usually get about 80% - 85% usable capacity
    • The battery will still have 70% of it’s capacity after 1000 cycles - what that means in simple terms is, if you used this everyday and ran it all the way down 0 and then charged it up again to 100% you could do this for nearly 3yrs. and still have 70% of the batteries total capacity still available. But most of us are not going to use it that way.
    • The E1000 has pass thru charging. Which means you can be charging it while you're using it. That’s an important feature. Some power stations won’t let you do that.
All the input charging options are on the front:
    - Regular 110 wall outlet
    - 12V regulated car charging
    - Solar - I’m going to be showing you several configurations of solar to charge this baby
    - 2 - QC 3.0 USB ports
Also on the front, you have 1 - Regulated 12V Output option:
    - A multi-purpose cable comes with the E1000 for assorted different 12V devices like hooking up a portable refrigerator or any device that has common pin connectors for other types of 12V devices
Other output ports are on the back
    - You have 2 - 110V 3 prong outlets and 2 - 110V 2 prong outlets and all power here is pure sine wave so you don’t have to worry about damaging your sensitive devices. These outlets are rated 1500W with a Peak Power of 3000W
When using these outlets the fan may will come ON and OFF depending on how much load your drawing, but I found it pretty darn quiet in previous testing.
    • It has a built-in BMS (battery management system) for protection against shorts, over load protection and high temperature shut off

Sorry you feel that way Ken. Running a YT channel my intentions and motives are sometimes misinterpreted. But that's ok. Comes with the territory. Not everybody needs all the power that my big Bluetti delivers that I showed in Feb., so I thought I'd give folks another-cheaper option with less power-for emergency power and I really thought this E1000 fit the bill and especially for this price. It wasn't a perfect product by no means as I explained, but nothing in this category even comes close for the money. So no, not just trying to sell a product 😎

Glad to see that you did this. I totally get and understand that people that create content to help others should absolutely benefit from the time they spend and the service they perform. This after all why I watch RUclips. entertaining and extremely informative. As RVers, and Im new to it, I started with Goal Zero packs and have now learned the there are much better products out there from RUclipsrs like yourself. Multiple options are totally necessary and when I see RUclipsrs setup up systems that cost $10-20,000 well that isnt something Im either interested nor capable of doing. Many are getting these things for free or greatly discounted for their somewhat sided view, doesn't change the fact that I am not spending that kind of money, but some will. Your video shows multiple options and those are relatively affordable. Much better options than rewiring entire RVs. tks for the info. Ecoflow charges quickly when plugged into a generator or other power outlet. Fast charging is critical for these things. The low cost boxes usually charge very slowly, so you are stuck running a generator four hours or more to get them recharged. You get what you pay for.

Thanks for the video. Many of us have residential refrigerators and induction cooktops in our RV. Is the E1000 able to handle such appliances?

    • @RVstreet
      @RVstreet  2 года назад +3

This E1000 is a small, compact unit that has 1000wh and would be perfect for anyone that:
      1) doesn't have a lot of room to store a bigger, heavier, more powerful unit
      2) doesn't have a lot of extra money to spend on a bigger unit
      3) maybe have grand kids visit and you put up a tent for them, you could the E1000 out in their tent and they would have their own power
But to answer your question, it depends on how many watts different appliances use. Most residential fridges would run on it because todays fridges are so energy efficient and draw somewhere around 450-500watts. And they also have a compressor, so the compressor comes on and then off. But just remember, you have 1000wh to start with and with about 93% efficiency in this unit, you actually have about 930watts of usable power. And that's WITHOUT bringing in more power from solar.
So for example-without any solar-if you have a device that's pulling 800watts CONSTANTLY, you'll be able to run that device for about an hour and 15 minutes or so. 400watts about 2.5hrs. and so on. My absorption fridge pulls about 315watts and with my big Bluetti AC200P that has 2000wh, I can run the fridge for about 5.0-5.5hrs. Add solar to any of these senario's and you can run a lot longer.
The main thing to remember when buying any passive power station like these, is that they really are for emergency power or boon docking power where there is NO grid power anywhere to plug into. And in those cases you're always conserving power as much as you can anyways. If you want them to power a lot of things or high wattage items for a longer duration of time you just have to get a bigger unit and have plenty of solar to continue pouring power into the unit while you're using it.
For newer, larger RV's that have residential refrigerators and induction cooktops, and other bling electrical items, IMO they should be looking for a larger unit. And, any RVer should have some sort of emergency passive back up solution, because without it, you won't be able to run anything when there isn't any power.
      Hope this helps

      Hi Sue,
The E1000 and the 200watt solar panels is in the "Everything Electrical" category in my Amazon Store:
      www.amazon.com/shop/rvstreet
The Pecron 200watt solar panel is a nice, well built panel and one of these should be just fine for a E1000. I like the 200watt panel better because it's easier to hook up with the MC4 connector -∏a universal connector I might add-and takes up less room to store in the RV.
As far as charge time with solar, it really depends on how low you have discharged the E1000 and what kind of sun you have that particular day. But, I mean for the money, you just can't beat this price for a unit of this size.
Oh...and thank you so much for your questions and wanting to support us thru my Amazon Store. It means a lot.

Hi Martin. Did not know where to ask this question. I searched your channel but ... I am a newbie (as you will see by my question, sorry) I am trying to learn about charging my batteries. I have 4 lead-acid deep cycle batteries in my 2015 Bounder. Will the Schumacher SC1280 you have in your amazon shop work for me or do you have another recommendation ? Thank you.

That unit in my store is a portable unit that needs 120V to plug into, to charge batteries in an emergency. So yes it will work on your batt's. But I have to ask why aren't your batteries being charged in the first place from shore power, running the jenny or by the alternator while underway?

@@RVstreet I "Did" not have a house outlet to plug into, that has changed i have one now so i just need an adapter from RV to house. Yes the generator charges the batteries BUT .. I had just bought this RV and checked the batteries, they where ALL low to the point they took a gallon of distilled water between all. I hope they are OK. I`ll take a look to see if you have the adapter in you A Store. Thanks for getting back with me.

If your batteries were that low on water and the voltage dropped way low-like

How long does the battery last in that power pack? Probably a few hours

Depends on how much load you're drawing from it. But if you're also continuing to bring in solar it will lengthen it even longer.

off subject, have you heard of a product called RV Roof Magic? if so, your thoughts? Joe

I've heard about it but barely. Not sure what type of roof you have but if it's fiberglass, this is what I recommend: ruclips.net/video/H00oNtbvtrk/видео.html

@@RVstreet Thanks for reply, I have watched that roof video of yours a few times , just need to get ambitious enough to tackle it. Live in Vegas and too hot to do anything now.. One reason I am such a fan of yours is I have a Winnie 2018 Sunstar LX w/ fiberglass roof almost identical to yours. You are a great teacher. Joe

The 1 year warranty does not inspire confidence. Maybe that's why they're so cheap. Most established name brands have a 2 year warranty.
    Food for thought.

Do NOT purchase. Horrible customer service that won't respond to let you know where to send a defective unit. Website site contact for address...then they ghost you. Going on 5 days without a response. How long should I wait?
