- What this baby "The Bluetti AC200P Power Station can actually do in ANY RV in an emergency, or no shore power. I love this thing.
This Bluetti AC200P and 2 - BLUETTI SP200 solar panels (as a minimum) checked all the boxes for what I was looking for to cover all our bases in the event of any type of emergency, no shore power or when we boon dock.

Please don't ask me about any particular device you have if it will run off the Bluetti AC200P
If you want to know how long this Bluetti AC200P will power any device you have, use this formula:
• 1800wh (or so usable) divided by the amount of watts your device uses, & that will give you the amount of hours it will run that device.
Be sure to buy the BLUETTI SP200 solar panels and at least 2 of them. Buying just one SP200 solar panel won’t do you any good. The Bluetti AC200P requires a certain amount of solar coming in to work properly. So again buy at least least 2 - SP200 solar panels. They are much more efficient, lighter in weight and fold to a smaller foot print for storage than the PV200 solar panels. The SP200 solar panels also have the ability to hang as well OR deploy horizontally on the ground like you normally would. The Bluetti AC200P can take up to a total of 700 watts of solar. You can hook up more than 700 watts of solar, but the Bluetti AC200P won’t take on anymore than 700watts.
BLUETTI SP200 solar panels are a 200-watt monocrystalline solar panel with high conversion efficiency, up to 23.5%, which is much higher than the typical solar panel generator/charger. With excellent 95% transparency, the BLUETTI SP200 performs better than similarly-rated polycrystalline solar panels in low-light conditions, and is much higher than the market's average.
The BLUETTI AC200P now offers the ability to add extra an 2048Wh, LiFePO4 battery. It’s the BLUETTI B230 Expansion Battery. You can add up to two of these B230’s. One via the solar input port by a converter cable, and another via the AC adapter inlet. For our RV needs and for emergencies I decided that this was way over kill for the way we travel and live. Your needs may be different. For larger rigs, or folks who live off grid for months at a time, have a summer cabin or a tiny house this would be an easy solution or perhaps go to the even bigger model the AC200MAX and more additional batteries.
The only time I would run my onboard 5500 generator in an emergency is if I absolutely had to have some air conditioning for a short while and gas was readily available to replenish my motorhome tank.

martin, i have a renogy 200 watt suitcase solar panel, havent used i yet, your getting me all primed for the spring and as always sir, thanks a bunch for me and all the rvers out there
If your solar panel has MC4 connectors it will work with the AC200P...BUT that's why I pointed out in the description text to buy at least 2 - 200watt solar panels. This Bluetti needs a minimum amount of solar coming in or it really won't do you much good. I wanted to buy 3 - 200watt panels but didn't have the funds at the time. This Bluetti will take up to 700 watts of solar. To get 700 watts of solar you'd more than likely have to have 1000watts of solar panels deployed outside.
So in your case you have 1 200watt panel. In reality your only going to get about 125watts out of it or so. Depends on so many things.

Ya that was the first version that came out. My AC200P is the upgrade to that unit. Nice job getting in on the ground floor and preparing for what may be coming next.
I love these Bluettie set ups. But I really can't justify it for the rig at this point in time as we virtually never set up the rig unless tethered to shore power. All that said I could really see how it could help at the house during extended power outages around the homestead. We loose power from hurricanes in the summer and fall, severe storms in the spring, and ice storms in the winter. As the house is total electric, I like it better than using our 2 generators for extended periods of time. Great video!

Fantastic! I have an EB70S, and while it’s only a max of 800 watts, I just tried it with our 30 amp rig and it worked great! Of course, we can’t run the a/c or microwave with only 800 watts, but we can live without those luxuries (and have a dual fuel generator in the event we decide we can’t live without those luxuries). I also have a 200 watt and 120 watt solar panel, so feel this is an excellent long term boondocking solution.

Ya but think of it this way. RVer's spent millions on repairs after the historic winter of 2021 that slammed into Texas because they weren't prepared with alternative power sources. And regular Texas households.....100's of millions in damages and lost of life. In an emergency you better have a have plan already in place 👍
When you lose power what’s it worth if you don’t have gas or electricity for days? Why do we buy insurance on our homes, cars, etc is to prepare against catastrophic situation. On the plus side I will be using to run equipment where I don’t have electricity and don’t want a gas generator making noise. I already have a gas generator but as stated above I need this in addition for these other reasons.

I hear ya Darren but hear me out….
Having insurance isn’t “preparing against a catastrophic situation” Insurance is to hopefully make you whole again AFTER the catastrophe has happened.
In some of these "catastrophic situations" insurance companies MAY pay for some damages or they may not. Just depends. But during a catastrophe insurance won't keep you warm, save your groceries, allow you to cook, take care of your pets or kids, keep life saving devices running that some people need at home or in the RV, keep your communicating devices running so you can stay informed and on and on I could go. Now it is true that RVer's that incurred actual damages to the RV itself-and they did believe me, some very serious damages-they can file a claim and then wait months to get it fixed. That is if parts are available and you can get an appointment.
Being prepared for situations like this by having multiple back up power plans could have prevented many of these things I listed above from happening in the first place. This is exactly why I have chosen multiple sources of back up power. Some gas, some solar, and my Bluetti AC200P as my final piece for passive big power. I always have to access what option is best for any particular situation. And BTW...my Honda generator can run our entire 50amp RV delivering 15amps for 8hrs on one gallon of gas and you can hardly hear it and I can comfortably live on 15amps for months. Done it many times.
Insurance in my view is the clean up crew after a catastrophe. They can’t help you one bit during a catastrophe.

Martin, we just stopped full-timing and when we’re were, I did the same exact modification with a Pecron Q3000/3034AH solar gen I purchased for just under $2k on a deal!.
The only difference is I installed an exterior, 120V/20amp, female, RV outlet on my slide-out exterior wall, wiring it under my dinette bench, to a male RV outlet on the interior, to plug the Pecron into. I then plug my 30amp shore cord to a 15 amp adapter into that. I have a knife switch on my house batteries so I can choose to charge or not to charge it. My class C came prewired for solar, so I installed 200W of flexible sunpower panels on the roof, (not drilling any holes in the roof), and ran 10AWG wire and SAE plug outlet on the interior to charge the Pecron.
The Pecron has built-in wheels and a telescoping suitcase type handle. But it charges very very slow compared to the Bluetti, but we only boondock once in a while for one night. And we usually only use 40% of the Pecron a night! It’s has come in handy at home during power outages too!
Just another way of doing what you did with a different device and connections. The Pecron is a very well built device, exterior is metal with just an old school digital readout/display with on/off mechanical buttons. (That’s what I like most about it). I was torn between it and the Bluetti. But for our purposes, the Pecron works for us. I do like both equally for different reasons. I just went with a better deal!

Great video! When using the generator to charge the bluettie I would try to find other loads that would allow the generator run at 80% capacity. Examples like charging or running your computer, making coffee and charging other devices or even running the heater. That way you get the most out of the gas generator and the bluettie. I have the same bluettie and it is an absolute beast and love it. Thanks again.

Absolutely no one has put out a video like this..Absolutely A Great ViD 🏁 I like that with the E-Gen; you have no need for a bunch of Lithium batteries wiring and Victron devices to make everything work and yet your still limited.. But this E-Gen by Bluetti and Sine-wave clean electricity, this is awesome for all your sensitive devices from your Bluetti and better yet it’s immediately portable!

Todays motorhomes and Rv s are so sophisticated and complicated. My motto has always been "simple is always better" I would be perfectly happy with rollup windows! I am retired military and I know you are too. They taught us about being prepared and having redundant systems. I was also an instructor in the military and I would not be surprised if you did some teaching also. The thoroughness and simplicity of your videos are top notch (KISS method). I bought a smaller power generator (lunchbox size) EcoFlow River Pro (720 wh) a while back just so I could explore all the ways to maximize them before making a larger investment for a bigger one. Also, I believe prices will come down. Keep up the good work that you and Joanie do. We are Texans living near Beaumont. Maybe our RV paths will cross one day. Would like to shake your hand and maybe have a beer..

But just remember, this formula is just using the stored power-the current stage of charge (SOC)-of the Bluetti at that time. But, you can always be charging it at the same time while using it, bringing in more power from other sources at any time, therefore continuing to keep the SOC high. This 2000wh LifePO4 battery in the Bluetti can power just about anything you or I can throw at it and charges really fast especially with 2 AC bricks (2hrs)….or a little slower using one AC brick and solar. So many ways to charge this baby.
i initially wanted to buy a 3rd - 200watt solar panel but didn't have the funds at the time when I did this video. But just recently, I did buy a 3rd panel. Also, Bluetti has just added to their solar arsenal a new 350watt solar panel that is compatible with this AC200P and also has the ability to hang or deploy horizontally like normal. The Bluetti AC200P can receive up to 700watts of solar. You can hook up as much solar to the Bluetti as you want, but it will receive a maximum of 700watts. 700 watts of of incoming solar will charge this baby in about 2.5hrs.
After having this system now for a few months now, all I can say is "I'm really glad I have this back up system and for emergencies and it has performed flawlessly".

Great video man. I appreciated the overnight test with the heater. I've been tossing around the idea of using one of those units vs getting a $10-12,000 apu.
Ya I thought folks would like to see that test b/c that's a biggie. AND I used no propane. Another biggie in my book.
I bought that small heater last year on your recommendation. Between our built-in fireplace heater and the small heater, the entire RV stays toasty all night. In fact, some nights we have had to turn it down.
Re: save the propane-You were a major learning resource when we first got into RVing and you convinced me early on about the frugal use of propane. Now we only use it when absolutely nevessary.

Great video. Quite a few good tips. I have a 2003 T1N Sprinter van, built professionally by Forest River as an RV. It has a lot less space than a big rig. It upgraded to a PD4655 multistage charger/converter. I added 12v 265 Ah batteries, 300 watts of solar, and a 2000 watt inverter. It has a 30 amp shore power connection wired into the power bay. I took delivery on a Bluetti AC300/B300 which I plan to install as the new system. Other than the solar panels, I see no need for any part of the old system. I need to use that space for the Bluetti. It provides more than enough DC and AC. A very efficient DC refrigerator and a few USB charged devices is my DC load. I have 4 AC circuits which I plan to plug into the AC outlets. I can run my 1800 watt AC for a short time. I can charge using the 30 amp external port, or the solar panels.
1) Do you see any need for the old converter? 2) Would I need it to charge from the 90 amp truck alternator while driving (which the converter currently does)? Would a DC to DC charger work instead? TIA - Keep up the good work
1) I don't know what type of converter you have so I can't that question. In my case I had to upgrade to my 4 stage converter. Factory converter was inferior and didn't take the batt's thru the proper charging levels to keep them healthy
2) Charging from a alternator can be tricky in some cases but with a 90amp one MAYBE not be a problem. Some people use DC to DC chargers but I decided not to go that route b/c my 500watt BesteK gave me more options.

Living on the south coast of OR brings many overcast days in the winter, however the rain abruptly stops come summer, then theres 5 mo of drought where solar power can be utilized. Martin, I didn't know a device like Bluetti existed! After the Texas Freeze and rolling blackouts I built a box like the Bluetti that is based on RV technology. It's a LIPO 12V RV Battery (arouind $1000 at the time), a Pure Sinewave inverter 2000 Watt, and an RV style Converter (Charger with LIPO charging profiles). The whole thing was about $1800. I put it in a wooden box with wheels and use it in my Office to power my PC and Networking. It charges while it feeds 110V up to 18 Amps to my office. It's been a great computer saver, and weighs about 65#. I put a 150A Battery Cable Fuse in it to protect it, and a panel so you can see the charge Amps, Usage Amps, and Battery Voltage. You're box would have the same ability, but cost much less! I'm an Electrical Engineer (retired) so it was a no brainer, but SIMPLER is always better. Love the channel. It's like having a real Mechanic on my staff!

I use a 12 year old CPAP with a little bluetti ac50s. It has a humidifier but I never use it. Draws maybe 20 watts of power. I can run it off the bluetti for at least 4 nights without recharging. It's the only thing I use the bluetti for.

I have a question: Do you ground your Honda 2200i every time you move to a new location? I've been reading conflicting information about this and would like your opinion.

Not quite sure what you mean by grounding it, but in the traditional sense no I don't. There's no need to ground it with normal use....HOWEVER....if I use the Honda 2200i to power the whole RV, then yes, I use a grounding plug in one of the outlets. This video may help you understand more of what I do and why I do it.

I bought a Ecoflow Delta last year and have been loving it. I considered the Bluetti but the charging time is double what I get with the Delta. I use my motorhome Onan 4000 watt gas generator to restore it to 100% in about one hour. I have no issues with the battery chemistry or lifecycle rating because we don't boondock very much. I fully expect to get 10 plus years of use. In my opinion a power station is a must have for any full time RVer.
If you don't have solar connected 24/7 and the charge goes up and down alot a regular lithium is just fine, it still give you like 1000cycles or so.
The Ecoflow delta comes with LiFePO4 batteries though.
Do you mean you turn on your onan 4000 and hook up your Delta to any plug in in the RV to charge it up?
@@alive-awake Yes. Actually we charge the Delta using solar panels most of the time. If that is not an option we use the gas generator.
@@neilrankin9945 I did get the Bluetti 200 max. I wish there was a hole in my rv that I could pull the 30 amp plug through and plug into it. It's so heavy,(62 lbs), dragging in and out of the rv is not realistic for me. Beginning and end of a trip is hard enough but doable. It really makes boondocking more enjoyable. 😀

Ya I understand maybe I should of showed a step-by-step procedure….but
5:05 in the time line…..You take the solar 2 MC4 wires from your solar panels regardless of whether you have 2, 3 or 4 panels that are wired in series and you’ll end up having 2 MC4 wires just like I show below in the next time line. You take those 2 MC4 wires and plug them into the MC4 connector cable, plug that into the aviation plug and that plugs into the Bluetti.
31:08 in the time line…..shows how to wire my 2 - 200watt panels in series. The PV 200watt panels are done the exact same way because they also have MC4 connectors. If you want to add a third panel-which I have done since this video was made-you just add the 3rd panel in series in that string of panels the same way. End the end you’ll have just 2 wires from all the panels.
Just as a quick side note….@ 29:04 in the time line I unplugged the solar from the Bluetti and you can see the aviation plug and the MC4 connector cable right their. Not the greatest explanation but it may help

Love your videos. It's nice to see someone with a motorhome instead of a trailer doing reviews! I was doing research of the AC200P when I saw the BLUETTI AC200MAX. It appears to have a 30amp recepticle. My motorhome is on 30amp so my question is...can I power all of my motorhome by plugging into the Bluetti?

So ya, the AC200MAX does have a 30amp dedicated plug. I didn't buy that model because:
1) To expensive for us, to bulky and lots, and lots of weight. For a Little House or home yes, for an RV with limited space and weight....it's just wasn't for me.
2) I didn't like the way all the components are hooked together with all those cables. To cumbersome for me.
3) I just don't need that much power and we have a 50amp RV
But maybe the AC200MAXis right for you. I don't know. I do have that unit also in my Amazon store though for folks just like you that want more power. I even have the extra battery packs too. If you decide to purchase any Bluetti it would be awesome if you use our Amazon Store to purchase that or anything you normally buy on Amazon.
But just think how you'd hook up your 30amp cord to the AC200MAX. You would have to do the same thing I did only drag your entire RV electrical cord up to somewhere under the RV, and install a pass thru cover there to bring the cord into the RV and plug into the AC200MAX. It might be doable but just think that thru.
My AC200P has one dedicated 25amp outlet on the left but would require a separate box, wiring and cable to use that. But you really don't need that. The Bluetti in any case won't be able to power everything like the AC units but will power pretty much everything else. We have a 50amp RV and as I showed in the video I plugged the entire RV into the Bluetti and I can run several things at once. It's all about managing your power.
Here's another video I did on how we live for months on 15amps every summer. I don't cover the Bluetti in this video because I didn't have it then. But I do show you how to manage and live on 15amps by plugging into a garage outlet. It's the very same thing here only your plugging into the Bluetti.

I really love your review of the AC200P. I could’ve bought it but instead I bought the EB240 which comes with a 1000w inverter but has larger battery - 2400Wh vs 2000Wh. I was too concerned with the internal power draw issue. Now after watching you use the Honda EU2000i generator (same one I have) to charge the AC200P, I wish I had bought the AC200P instead. Who cares that I have 400 more Wh or about the power draw problem with the AC200P when you can charge the AC200P in 2hrs using the extra charger with the Marine connection port set to Solar input. I also like how you connected the AC200P to the shore line and bypassed your RV inverter. WOW! I still like my EB240 and wondering if it’s possible for me to connect it to my shore line and bypass my inverter? I don’t have a large RV like you. I just have a small popup camper and don’t need to run all that you run. You’re amazing presenter.I joined your channel. Thank you!

Ya the inverter draw in my AC200P is miniscule in the big scheme of things. I'm not familiar with the EB240 but hey give it a try on the main power cord. You'll know immediately if it will work or not. If it does, run some tests and see what it's capable of so you'll know the parameters of what it can do. If you ever decide to later on to buy the AC200P, I sure would appreciate it if you buy it thru my Amazon Store. Or anything else for that matter. And THANK YOU so much for joining my channel 🙏

Martin, I hope by now (September 2022) you know that Hutch Mountain has a kit to add the ability to run your Honda on Propane or Gas. You have the ability to turn the selector knob to Propane or Gas! I purchased all the attachment hoses, etc. from them, also. They are wonderful with assistance!! I have both the Honda 2200i and the companion 2200i units. I called and asked if they would tell me all that I need to change both generators. They went through all the connection hoses, with me and explained each one. It's a very easy install. If a 71 year old woman can do it, anyone can! I also found a YT video called, "Pimp my Honda Generator". I purchased that kit also. It has a well made and nice looking, red, magnetic dip stick and a matching extension for draining the oil, with no mess! There's a metal handle attachment to deter a thief and also a nice cover for your unit. The cover doesn't say "Honda", which also helps to deter a thief. Thank you Martin, for all you do!!!

Wondering if anyone has used 12volt cords instead of 110 cords to power a device and did it use less "power" I purchases a 12 volt cord for a cpap machine and I use less power when boondocking

For a little while IF you install a soft start. BUT...in emergency situations I would not use the Bluetti for AC. Not practical. I'd use my small Honda for that.

I have plugged my RV 30 amp with 15 amp dogbone into my jackery power station to charge my RV battery and can use some power, with jackery hooked up to solar panels. I really like the ideas you have given. I have the Jackery 2000, also 2 500 watt solar inverters that I use as supplement and can boondock and use my 2 12 volt refrig/freezers. I wonder if I can charge my jackery from solar and plugged into anther power source? I need to research the bluetti. it may be more versatile than my Jackery.

Awesome vid, been watching about this ac200p. 2008 I have a class b pleasure way and would like your suggestion. I want to buy ac200p and i want to plug rv to ac200 while driving to be able to use the ac but charges at the same time. Can i put a splitter to 30a going inside? I will be adding solar to charge the ac200 and in house ac while driving. I can run the 30a cord from outside to inside but it will look ugly coz the cable will running througha window looking for another option. Ty for you time
The AC200P will run everything in your rig but is not strong enough to run an AC unit. Even if you installed a soft start on the AC it would run it but not for long. In order to run an AC unit you'd have to have a LOT battery storage. You have dash air in your Class B. If staying cool while driving is a problem for you, what you could do is put a spring loaded shower pole right behind the two front seats and hang a sheet there that drops to the floor. That way all the cool air coming from your dash air would be confined to the front cab area.
The AC200P puts out about 16.8amps or so. So no.....you can't put a 30amp splitter. The AC200P is for supplemental power, boon docking power or emergency power to run the Class B if there's no place to plug in. The AC200P is a fantastic, reliable power station but as with everything else in life, it has it's limitations.

I don't need that kind of power. I mean just think about it? You saw me rolling this puppy around with the dolly I made. Can you imagine having 1 or 2 more big batt's under that and all the connecting cables? It would just be way to much for me or for most RVer's IMO. Now for a tiny house or a home back up system OH YEAH!. This AC200P is portable enough, affordable, stores nicely, and packs a lot of power as you saw.
One more thing, in an RV you always have to think about weight. I have plenty of CCC, but the 200 max would add probably ANOTHER 150lbs. that I would have to think about on where to distribute that extra weight. For some people that extra weight would be a problem.
As I said in the very beginning of the video this AC200P checked all the boxes as far as I was concerned.
