That's right. Palistine refers to a region and not a country; it includes a large part of Egypt, the Sinai, and Trans Jordan (and by some definitions all of Jordan). In fact, the vast majority of the socalled Palestinians in Jordan have never lived in Israel. And seeing how Jordan is part of Palistine, they already have a free Palistine, aka Jordan! In fact, the West Bank was once part of Jordan until the 1967 war, so the socalled Palestinians in the West Bank are actually Jordanians too. And Gaza was a part of Egypt until the Egyptian-Israeli war of 1967, so they are Egyptian. Arafat was Egyptian born. Half the Gazans are of Egyptian origin evidenced by their surnames and DNA testing.
The name of the region does not really matter. the "Arabs" are a separate ethnic group from the Jews, and even though they never had an independent state, they have been living as the major ethnic group in Palestine for the last millennium, and it was the Israelis that started forcibly displacing Palestinians, Whenever a two state solution was agreed upon the Israeli government would just violate it and go on to occupy rightfully Palestinian territory, and encouraging Israelis to settle the areas as a way of proving that it belongs to them. And not to mention the prosecution that Palestinians are facing by the Israelis, "Opression leads to radicalization " In a certain way, the Israelis created Hamas, That's what happens when you oppress people, it happened in Russia following world war one, and Germany after the treaty of Versailles.

To be fair, before the Arabs hijacked the term (at the behest of USSR and Arab League, to create their proxy army of the PLO) in 1964, the term "Palestinian" was being used as an alternative to "Jews" in naming conventions. EG: during WW2, the British Army created the "Palestinian Brigade" with Jews from their Mandate in The Levant and later merged it into their "Jewish Battalion".

The majority of the time my school’s history courses would mainly talk about America and Europe, and I don’t even think the names Israel or Palestine were ever mentioned. This was due to a UN charter which handed a small portion of the British Mandate in Palestine to establish the state of Israel, leaving the rest to a Turkish ethnic group that we now call Palestinians. Before the British Mandate in Palestine, it was "South Syria" under the Ottoman Empire. Before that, the territory was controlled by Egyptians, Romans, Greeks, and yes even Jews. However, there was never a sovereign Palestine. We can go all the way back to the Canaanites in the Bronze Age, and still, no sovereign Palestine.

Something my world history teacher said was that the land where Palestine/Isreal is was never just palestine or just Isreal, the borders and under what empire it was always changed. And I just want people to remember that earth does not belong to a certain people, this might sound childish because its so simple, but this genocide needs to stop.

This person is the one feeding you lies about something you don’t know. The Jews never fought with the British to free the land or whatever. The British gave it to the European Jews (another set of colonialists) instead of giving it back to the natives. Stop believing whatever you’re being fed and do some of your own research into what happened. There’s so much information about the mandate and what it did.

Islam is inherently against nationalism due the Quran saying there should be as little division as possible so a lot of Arab nationalists were for the idea of one state for all Arabic speakers which is why some Arabs called themselves similar or the same people. However just like any other middle eastern population in that time the Palestinians affiliated themselves with their tribes more than any nationality or greater identity. This was the case for a lot of other Arab speaking populations which is why unifying was such a pain in the middle east (Jabbal Shammar, the 1st and second Saudi states, Asir etc.)
Also you're idea on Palestinians seeing themselves as Syrians is also partially wrong especially cause the Mutasarrifate was seperated from the Damascus vilayet (Syria). The Mutasarrifate had a unique government cause technically it was under direct Ottoman authority but like I said the people had a lot of autonomy and this only existed due to Egypt being a major threat.
