I picked up a couple for my little sons to learn rc from Amazon for 40$. We made a small track on our patio and have been ripping these little critters senseless. I am waiting for my mini b to show up but this Serpent has set the bar pretty high for toy grade micro rc..... I would not have jumped in at 65$, but at 40$ to my door, yeah, I have gotten 40$ of value from them.
@@miguelvidal1102 $40 is a great price range for these little guys. So awesome that you’re using these to get your sons into the hobby. You will LOVE the Micro B!
I want my micro B so bad I ordered it at the beginning of October, now they're telling me it may not be here until end of November middle of December! Trying so hard to be patient sure hope it lives up to the hype after this long wait!
I have one of these things, they have different variations of these even in a rally/drift version. They have been out for a while and you can put a fpv camera on them for one of the ports it comes with. It’s definitely up there in the toy grade section and can be found for cheap. The body is surprisingly durable and made out of plastic that is flexible and can take beating. All round good for what it is but doesn’t compete with the top boys as mentioned
After I found this one, I saw that Serpent actually has some decent looking larger scale RCs that are intriguing, but I usually stick to 1/16 and smaller. It would be very interesting to see FPV footage from this thing. 😃
@@CK4RCthey do, if memory serves they came onto the scene to compete at worlds. Don't remember the specific scale but I remember seeing them show up. Just like associated made their 28th scale a toy, I think serpent did theirs that way for kids, a way to get your kids a toy RC basically so they can have one "like dad's car".
Its kinda too bad. Serpent was supposed to be a home grown rc company. They were a newbie meant to compete with traxxas and associated in 1/10 if memory serves. Maybe this was just the best they could do for the price. Id bet the gyro is to help it compete vs the others in its size. Its hard to make an rc this small with shocks and such that work, but they may have found that the shocks just didnt add enough to be worth having at this size. Id like to see them release an upgrade kit thatll work to being it up to spec with its competition. Some aluminum parts, maybe real suspension, nut attached wheels, that sort.
I saw that thing on amazon for $50, glad i didnt order. You get what you pay for. Im gonna need the Losi one day to be with my Mini B and TLR 22 5.0 Elite
@@CrawlerTrax yeah, I would absolutely recommend a Micro B. I would say this is half step above toy grade simply because of proportional controls and they tried to incorporate a gyro. Everything else is in line with toy grade. It’s fun, but not $65 fun.
@@CK4RC This is where you pick up a hobbywing 18 amp esc de case it remove the heat sink de solder the capacitor and the battery lead re solder the appropriate gauge wire for the micro b Nice thing about this setup it’s fully programmable and capable of 3s which will flip itself over on carpet oh and don’t forget the micro radiolink receiver with gyro I did this recently with stuff I had laying around body fits perfectly 0 modifications and completely reversible!!!👍

@@NeoIsrafil that makes a lot of sense. They need to get the word out and market them that way! That could absolutely be their place in the market.
