I really like this kind of camping/canoeing channel. I like the gearing up, the packing, the going to, the putting in, and the great views of water, land and sky. I love water, and it just bruises me to fly past beautiful lakes like these and not be able to breathe in the ambience that each body offers. Thanks for the peace.
As much as I've enjoyed this video, the kids being in it with you was fabulous. Our grandkids love it when we take them. Thanks for sharing. Great video.
Just came across this today, although I’ve watched a lot of your videos. So glad to see you teaching your kids to enjoy nature. I grew up camping (in Algonquin) and our kids grew up camping and canoeing/kayaking. I still backcountry canoe in Algonquin with my daughter; our son lives too far away now, but with a grand-daughter on the way, I think the tradition will continue. Cheers from London (Ont.)
Always nice to get out with the family, but having your own time is just as valuable too. Loved the iso change with music. Great creative side to your work!
totally loving your videos! Husband and I are planning a canoe trip to Canada end of May, so we've been watching lots of videos on Algonquin park! Thanks, you rock!
Been anxiously waiting since the teaser. Thank you for helping me get through the winter. I do winter camp but nothing compares to paddling glass. Awesome video as always!
I am so hooked on your videos! Your friends are amazing! That was a gutsy river trip! I'm sure Scott would have given anything to be with you guys! Your film and picture quality is unbelievable beautiful! You had two geese fly up behind you while you were talking and I laughed for 5 minutes!
i jus have to add how nice seein the kids there - did the same with mine - theyre all in theyre 40's now and still remember sum of it - to hear them talk with such affection of those times is priceless - ull see
Looked like a great trip. Thanks for sharing. Great to relive past trips, and anticipating the next, especially during this cold snap. Have you ever tried a tumpline on your canoe? Real shoulder saver on those first 2 days following a hiatus. I use some 2" webbing tied to the gunnels. Works awesome. Be sure to tie a light shock cord back to the rear thwart to ensure the the tumpline doesn't wrap around your neck in case you took a tumble.
👍👍🇨🇦🇨🇦🎄❄️🎄❄️🎄 thanks For the Camping trip, -35c here on the Ottawa River this morning, 😎😎😊😊, nice to hav e left if even just with my mind. Happy new year!
Wonderful! Been watching the kids part with my own kids three times now. Now I'm just waiting for the director's cut of this video, 3 hours of canoeing.
nice relaxin video as i sit here waitin fer snow to melt lol -- i noticed ur canoe seats -- im refurbishing a ole canoe for this year - is that paracord or gut/rawhide - and where might i go to see the how to - thanks take care ps nice to see the kids out
Great video! Can you tell me the details on your canoes? Length, beam, height at midpoint and weight, please? I am trying to decide what to build for myself and it looked like you have a great canoe.
Hi there! The cedar strip is 14' and weighs 60lbs. It's the "Puddle Duck" design by Gil Gilpatrick. He has a book with the plans to build it. The new boat is a Swift Keewaydin 15' carbon and it weighs 30 lbs. You can get all the specs for it on the Swift website. Lastly, Big Red is an Evergreen Willow 17' and it weighs close to 60 lbs.
Fantastic video! Do you have any tips or suggestions for someone who is interested in hanging a canoe from the garage ceiling just like you have done? This will be a project of mine this summer.
Thanks Scott. There are some good vids and ideas online for basic pulley set-ups... the tackle / hardware is not too expensive and pretty easy to find. DM me on Instagram and I can send you some pics or a quick vid of how mine are situated ... its a fairly tight squeeze! Tumblehome _ Adventure
I actually like the hammock better but I suppose it depends on what kind of trip. If there are lots of bugs its nice to have a tent to sit in. In the rain ,its just so nice to be able to step out of the hammock, stand up, have a pee etc. Hammock always stays dry and you can fold it up out of the way and your fly becomes your tarp. I have both but use the hammock 90% of the time.
It’s great to see you guys out with the kids. Scott looks like a new man and 10 years younger with the new due . Amazing difference. No more hippie look please. Thanks 👍🇨🇦
I've been pretty busy lately and not much camping either but I am heading out on a couple of trips before year end. I am currently working on a French River trip video.. coming along but sidelined for the moment. :-)
Ha! Yes... he is a shape shifter of sorts. When he shaves his beard and head its hard to recognize him. You may not recognize him in upcoming videos as he's lost about 40 lbs!!!
It is a heavy unit. For years I thought it was 50 to 55 lbs but its actually 60... Finally weighed it and that was all the push I needed to go buy a lightweight boat. I had been wanting one for years!
Loved everything about it.
Your filming and editing are inspiring.
Beautifully done 😊
Thanks Joe!
Couldn't agree more. Awesome video and editing. I have to get to Algonquin, it seems so freakin beautiful.

Excellent Sunday night relaxation view ... and great teaser for this year's adventure. Thanks boys.
Beautifully done, and wonderful vibes. Music selection with the ISO dial was a really cool idea 👌 Happy holidays and keep up the great work! :)
thanks a bunch... I have just started diving into your vids!

Scott it’s great to see you use a plan Jane canoe not one of those super expensive ones. That’s the same one I use and it’s been great. Thanks 🇨🇦👍
I made the mistake of turning the video on again. I couldn't stop watching. Very nice.
there are worse mistakes to make :-). thanks
Beautiful photography, as usual. Thanks, Jason, for sharing your trip with us canoers who appreciate the wild outdoors on a lake.
thanks Tom
And here I am shivering at positive 14 degrees.
great stuff; I always feel like I'm on a vision quest when I watch your videos.
Right on 🇨🇦👍 thanks.

Love how relaxing the music and surrounding sounds are!! Can’t wait to get back to the park next month after about 13 years!!
Sweet!

The wait was worth it. Fantastic as always!

Excellent. Thank you.
Thanks
Great video! Great dads, too.
Thank you very much sir. I question my dad skills at times so that is nice to hear.
Asking your opinion. In the rain, which is better, hammock or tent? What's your choice?
I actually like the hammock better but I suppose it depends on what kind of trip. If there are lots of bugs its nice to have a tent to sit in. In the rain ,its just so nice to be able to step out of the hammock, stand up, have a pee etc. Hammock always stays dry and you can fold it up out of the way and your fly becomes your tarp. Yeah we try to get out together at least once a year. Scott is a chameleon... so many looks.
You are making awesome videos!
Glad you like them!
Just found your channel...fantastic stuff! Hmu if you want to take on a mountain river adventure in NC....
Thanks bud. I'll keep that offer in the back pocket!
@@JasonIrwinTumblehome I paddled in Algonquin a few times growing up. Beautiful country up there!
Very nice video. Thanks for sharing.
thanks Michael
So goooooood
Glad to see you back :-)
Thankyou... glad to be back!
I am heading out next weekend for my second trip this year . I am addicted to Algonquin
One question; did you get out in 2017 and when is the Vid of that trip?
Inspiring filmography brother!
The video quality is unreal! What cameras are you guys using?!
Thanks Scott... we used a couple of older Go Pros and a Canon 5dmk2... Still a great image despite its age and bulkiness
Or was that the 2017 trip?
Hi Bob, this was from 2016... that's just how slow I was in getting it cut. :-(
I'm working on a short fall solo vid I did in October 2017.
Great. Looking forwards to it.
Jason we miss your blogs . Please respond. Thanks. Tommy Beckett.
I've been pretty busy lately and not much camping either but I am heading out on a couple of trips before year end. I am currently working on a French River trip video.. coming along but sidelined for the moment. :-)
So it's been bugging the living sh** out of me so now I have to ask; Is the guy eating the jerky and drinking the wine Scott, or is that someone else?
Ha! Yes... he is a shape shifter of sorts. When he shaves his beard and head its hard to recognize him.
You may not recognize him in upcoming videos as he's lost about 40 lbs!!!
Good to know. I thought I was losing my marbles.
Ahhh: another Tumblehome fix.
don't know how anyone can portage with that canoe buddy
It is a heavy unit. For years I thought it was 50 to 55 lbs but its actually 60... Finally weighed it and that was all the push I needed to go buy a lightweight boat. I had been wanting one for years!
Check out my homage to Scott over on my channel - just a bit of fun
