  • Hey guys! Welcome to the 2nd leg of this trip! In this video, I continue onward to Dallas, Texas from Washington D.C. aboard an American Airlines B737-800! This was definitely one of the longer AA flights I've taken across the U.S. and so I wanted to see what it was like flying them greater than an hour or two. The B737-800 is an ok aircraft to do the job. The interior is really nice with mood lighting, a spacious cabin, power ports underneath the seat, free entertainment, WiFi offered, and large overhead bins. But the seat itself is so basic, besides it having adjustable headrests, and if you're a taller person like me, it'll certainly get uncomfortable the longer you have to sit there, especially if there's two folks sitting next to you and you have a personal item under the seat. You basically can't move at all. FAs on the flight were ok, but as I say at the end of the video, AA FAs usually in general are ruder than most and is kinda what I've come to expect from this airline. The flight also had a free cabin service, departed/arrived on time, and had some cool scenery for the first half of the flight. Would I recommend flying AA across the country? Yes and no. If they're your only option, then by all means. But if you have another option such as Delta, JetBlue, or Southwest, I'd definitely urge you to pick them. Hope you guys enjoy!

Awesome trip report as always! I’m 5’5 and even found legroom to be an issue going from PHL to BOS! On a side note, the A319 from my experience at least doing BOS to CLT is way more comfy! Also, AE flight attendants seem to be friendlier than main line! You’re awesome!😸😻😸

Thx mate and definitely agree! Some of AA's A319s are actually fairly roomy and ya usually their Eagle flight crews are so much better, especially Republic

Yah, I hope you get the chance to fly PSA! By the way, if you ever see a blonde, somewhat loud, flight attendant named Ashley on a PSA flight, it’s most likely my cousin! Also, my neighbor is a pilot for CRJ’s that Messa fly out of DFW!😸

I’ve been on this flight for about 4 times now, and every single time, I get the same gate! Also, back in DFW, I had to wait for the probably last flight to DCA, and I was on standby, so I didn’t get on the previous flights, I still had a chance to get on those flights. It’s nice to see the inside of Reagan once again. Even though I live right near it 😂

Nice lookout for AA's Reno Air heritage livery that came from Reno, Nevada. AA should have over 1,000 aircraft with half of heritage liveries including the Astrojet, 1968 retro livery, and the 2013 retro livery to honor the past.

American doesn't offer seatback IFE on a lot of their planes. Pretty much every plane on Delta with the exception of the regional jets offer it. I think that's a drawback.

Seems so long ago,no face masks,no social distancing--because you're younger than I,your stamina is much greater--for me to fly PIT-DCA-DFW--? in one day,by the time I arrive in Dallas,I'd be exhausted and yet you continue on for another flight! I've only flown AA's -800 once,DEN-DFW,first row of coach with a bulkhead and yes being tall and the cabin full, the plane does have a cramped feel.Judging from other avgeeks' channels, inflight service seems to be gone, even the inflight magazine has disappeared. Getting something simple as a canned soda is no longer done, buy on board food,gone--all one gets is pre-bagged contents and bottled water--very frustrating
