- Philippines, Pakistan, United States, and Tanzania. Foreigners from those respective countries are sharing their views of Indonesia; capturing their culture shocks, things they found annoying, differences, similarities, and what they might miss later. This video provides a good peek into what is Indonesian culture about.
the first woman has very good indonesian accent. I think if she talks in bahasa indonesia, we'll hardly recognize if she is from another country 😂
Ya krna dia org filipin
Exactly 😂
Cara bicara bahasa tagalog mirip Indo.
Jadi gak susah kalo belajar Indo. sama kaya kita kalo belajar tagalog pun gak akan susah.
Dulu ada temen kantorku orang Filipina, udah setahun kenal aku baru tau dia orang Filipina saking kentelnya logat condetnya 😂
Reaching the hand of an elderly and put it on your forehead. It’s the same thing here in the Philippines as a sign of respect for the elderly. That is why Indonesian there’s a place in my heart… 😊👍🇵🇭❤️🇮🇩
The first time I visited Indonesia I was utterly shocked to see one whole family ( dad, mom and two kids) riding in one motorcycle!
😂😂😂
😂😂😂

anjay bonceng empat 🤣
That's Indonesian for you 😂
Getting used to the water gun here was easier than getting used to not having the water gun back home.
it took me a while to realise what this water gun is 😂
@@vincentiusgondowijoyo9070 sorry i should have said Bum Gun.
Seriously what's the correct terminology in English?

"Kapan lulus?"
"Kapan nikah?"
"Kapan punya anak?"
"Kapan nambah anak?"
Gak sekalian ditanya "kapan mati?" 😂
Low sdm hai
actually for them who always said or joking about low sdm to other people, is actually low sdm themselves, shame.
This channel is underrated, man.
Lucu banget setiap contohnya jg pake video dari interviewernya 😂
I appreciate the positive comment, my man
@@notdiplomatjust a suggestion, maybe you could persuade the interviewee to switch talking to Indonesian a bit
I've visited and lived in Indonesia last year, I can say the first lady described Indonesia perfectly 😂 she also made me realize how much I miss your country. Can't wait to go back there
The first lady is very smart and polite. I like how she talk in English thats make me understand easier since i dont fluent in English.
I think she might be an English teacher
The Tanzanian guy can speak like that and understand 70% of Bahasa within 8 months? That is a true commitment right there !
but for real Indonesian language is really easy to get into, the major hurdle is just the casual day to day Indonesian language which is really differs from the formal form
for everyday use and everyday conversation, Indonesia language is easy to learn if you put little effort toward it, it will different if you full committed and learn in full depth though.
Bahasa apa? Kenapa bahasa Indonesia disebut bahasa saja heyyy😩
@@andhikabinar6682 sadar ga bahasa itu language tapi orang luar nyebut nya "bahasa" bukan language? and westerner will recognize it as bahasa indonesia when they said "bahasa". local suka masalahin yang ga perlu jadi masalah, heran.
@@andhikabinar6682 maaf kak 😢😢

Filipinos if they can speak Indonesia language, they've similar like indonesia people (local). So hard to think they are a real local people or from another country.

she's right about Javanese people, they are kinda indirect about being bold and aggresive. But Bataknese has similiar characteristic to Filipinos in common so i bet Bataknese and Filipinos would be best friends 🤝
Depends on the ethnicity as well. We are not all the same people Filipinos.
“Settle out things in a very bureaucratic way” this is a very very very very Javanese trait. A little bit annoying sometimes. Well put.
As you can see from my username, I'm Batak and I happened to have 2 cousins currently living in Manila, you have to know that there are quite a sizable Batak community currently living in the Philippines aside from the Minahasans, so your statement is quite valid😃
@@dtsidabutar really ???
Now I'm being curious, where the aggressiveness of fillipinos originated from ?
Jangan2 krn banyak orang kite yg tinggal disana

Having studied Indonesian language and culture for a long time (over 30 yrs) and being Filipino-American, I think I can shed some light on this. My personal opinion? I think Ilocanos (from the northwestern coast of the north main island, Luzon - my late father was one) are very much the "country bumpkin" versions of the Javanese ethnic group, as they can be a bit reserved with emotions - and money - even towards their own families. However, they have no immediate ties to royal court settings, so their personal manners can be a bit bucolic as compared to more courtly Javanese cultures. My mom is Capiznon (Visayan) and is much more outgoing, enthusiastic, and spendthrift, so that reminds me of Balinese society a lot.
The curiosity wkwkwk. Org indo aja risih, apalagi foreigners 😂
Indonesian people have "Jedi Force" so when crossing road you just need to use your force by waving your hand to them. 😁

the biggest culture, look at your mustache 😂
Believe me even as an indonesian I PERSONALLY hate the small talks.
Because usually those small talks will evolve into gossiping.
We need to kinda tone down a bit with the KEPO culture and start minding our own business.
kamu sendiri kapan nikah?
This! I was once being talked to by some uncle while waiting for khutbah (it was sholat Jum'at). I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm okay with small talk. But what irritated me a bit is that he immediately asked stuff like what's my parents name, what are their occupation, where I live, etc. I know the man had good intention, so I just answered them randomly. Still, I feel like he was probably a bit lonely (lonely like maybe all of his children are working adult living in different place and I maybe happen to be similar in age with his son?). But thank God the conversation only lasted for 10 minutes because khutbah finally started wkwk.
Small talk ...
Ujung - ujungnya ditawari kerjasama bisnis/inves kecil - kecilan, bisa dijalankan dari rumah, passive income, modalnya cukup segini, dan bla bla bla bla ...
Selalu seneng buat liat pov orang luar negeri tentang Indonesia.
One funny thing I once seen in Indonesian Election is when a group of men who literally wore their preferred elected candidate shirts meet up in a cafe and just do that Spiderman pointing meme and just laugh about their friend group having chosen all the presidential candidates before sitting and having a casual chat.
Aww very wholesome. Really help us Indonesians to notice and appreciate the little things, love these interviews :)
That's what I thought too-the little things we take for granted
Lovely interviews... terima kasih!
I came from my mother's womb, as long as I lived in Indonesia for 20 years I can claim that Indonesia in the real life is very beautiful and fun but not on social media🗿, i'm so so tired, seriously.
Indo netizens bruh😭😭😭
Then you should stay away from said social media, or find another online circle that is not toxic, just surround yourself with positivity and good people
@@nietzchan the problem is that 90% of indo netizens are toxic, only a select few are positive (I'm indonesian btw)

Dibuat 14 mei 2022, bisa-bisanya gua baru nemu ni channel, thx bro atas interview singkatnya gua juga suka pembawaan hostnya, goodluck bro.
Standing in front of the SUTET in your video opening is such a mood... In other countries, that area would have been considered dangerous. In Indonesia? Banyak perumahan yg jaraknya deket SUTET.
Sense of danger? Apa itu? 😂
Seru seru...
Never get bored 👌
Thank you for always tuning in, brother
The houses are very much decorated similarly with Filipino houses, very interesting to notice that in an Indonesian movie in Netflix
As an Indonesian, I'm also very annoyed by the 'basa-basi' small talk. Even for questions that have obvious answers, they are still asked. However, it is understandable because sometimes when the situation becomes quiet, it feels awkward, so people just keep asking questions to break the ice. Of course, some questions can be very personal, but all of that comes from a desire to be closer and make the person you are talking with feel like a friend. In addition, I think the social structure of Indonesian society, which comes from various ethnic groups, encourages people to get to know and learn about each other's cultures and backgrounds, and sometimes this leads to personal questions. The names of foods and customs can vary greatly from one region to another, so people want to understand each other, which is a common trait among many Indonesians.
Glad they had a good experience in Indonesia. Hopefully, more people will get to know and appreciate our country.
Tanzania guy should be smart. Understanding 70% of Bahasa Indonesia in few months, that's crazy.
This is amazing content bro, and you executed it well. Its not like all negatif or all full praise. Very objective and insightful. Very well❤
you cant call it eating without rice, thats basically just having a snack..
Santai culture? She definitely does not live in Jakarta. Is this Jogja?

You missed one question, what do you do in Indonesia?
lucu bgt interviewernya gatau knp the character is so on point! keep it up dude
I as indonesian also hate it when people ask personal question to me. It was normal to me but as i get older its getting annoying and creepy.

Just advice for you. I think for editing better you show first question, but the people answering is different😁👍, and next question also

Indonesians eat a lots of nasi, But pakistan eats nasi biryani. Totally different!! Shocking!!
Jangan orang luar negri. Saya saja orang indonesia aga risih kalau di tanya2 hal2 pribadi sangat menjengkelkan
Foreigner got culture shock? Man...Even as a local, i got a different culture with someone in my own house
Motorcycle is interesting here, because from what I understand, America for example has cars built to their cities, while motorcycle usage are the opposite, it's a necessity. Small alleyways, traffic jams, I've seen junior high schoolers on villages ride them to go through narrow hills and path. It's really is flexible for motor vehicle.
4:03 true. I've been asked the same thing by a total stranger whom ive just met like 20minutes before. Never thought of it as strange coz i live in Indonesia my whole life but hearing foreigner point it out makes me realize that it is strange.
As someone that's born and raised in Indonesia, the people being addicted to chilis is an understatement. People joke about eating two bowls of bird eye chilis for a bowl of rice, but I genuinely see people eat like that
I can't believe you still have 5 k subs man, you deserve 200k atleast
Indonesia is a big country and has many diversity. I am Indonesian with sundanese and javanese diversity, and when I went to other province, I still got to experience some culture shock 😅

The Filipina lady is definitely from Metro Manila lol definitely not a reflection of the Philippines as a whole
Except for the spicy food, we definitely eat less spicy than Indonesians, even Bicolanos who do eat spicy food more than other Filipinos
by watching couple of your video i would say that there's not much content creator like you with this format and as you say we need this type of content. Also i see the potential of taking reference from "Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan" style of street interview and maybe if there any possible silly clips or blooper would be great additional taste. anw keep up the great works sharing indonesia globaly. cheers
