The problem here is that we really are experiencing severe environmental degradation that will be irreversible in only a few more decades... of course someone will try o make money out of this. But objectively, the girl's speech contains true facts, in the sense that we are indeed heading towards climate disaster.

One of my aunts was, in her time, wealthy enough and grew up in a wealthy for the 1920s family. She used to drive a car. In the late 1970s, I blamed her for global warming. "All her fault." This was during a time when all of the known and discoverable energy reserves were going to no doubt run out by 2000. Kids need education. Anyone who actually was a child knows this. Here's another example. For years I lived in Boston. In the mornings, I would walk up Clarendon Street, which is the location where the Adoption Agency that put me up for adoption as a neonate was once located. One of my "street rants" used to be, "When I was between the age of zero and three months, my nannies used to wheel me up and down this street and go into the shops just to see what would happen. I don't remember any of it? Why not? Kids don't know and don't remember much. Why it is we have universities for undergraduates and graduate programs. Learn, then talk." My surroundings 2000-2009 were still inexplicable in polite company (and part of the source of my difference in world view from VV).
