I started to admire Peter Oborne when he resigned his job at the Telegraph on a point of principle. He found out that the Telegraph wouldn't dare to report about the wrong doings of a bank, I don't remember whether it was the Barclays or HSBC, because they used to take a large advertisement spaces from the paper.
It was HSBC. It was because they closed the bank account of the Finsbury Park Mosque in London without warning or clear reason. And yes the paper refused to report on it
A lot of these companies, especially the pharmaceutical industry runs ads in papers, TV and digital media not for sales of their products but as leverage on the media itself. If the platform tries to print something they don’t like, they threaten pulling their ads.

How could one be Islamophobic? Islam says I, as an atheist, should be killed. Therefore, I vehemently oppose Islam out of self preservation if nothing else. I think Muslims are following a bad ideology which has doomed them to poor living standards and a very anti-intellectual culture. Is that Islamophobia? Because they are all 100% valid criticisms, and telling me I need to respect people who want me dead, lets just say I won't be amenable to that solution.
@@srbsrb3831 Presumptuous misrepresentation. No one mentioned theological discussions being Islamophobic - and "legitimate" would have to mean deeply informed by scholarship, experience and perspicacity, all of which are far too rare in what passes for public discourse.

Does your heart bleed enough that you’re willing to tell the world to stop funding Qatar, UNRWA, Hamas, PIJ, Iran, Muslim Brotherhood, etc., because they’re the ones who have become extremely wealthy benefactors of the 700 km tunnel project under Gaza, at the expense of the Arabs.
I would be so happy if you would translate this speech. I am from Germany and our government and the AFD made hate speeches against us Muslims. We had this already in 1933 and people have to weak up. Not many people speak English that was probably also a part of the political system, that we can’t understand each other. This report is so important for the Muslims all over the world. Allahumma Barik feek.
We will never accept the Islamization of Europe or other Christian areas. Never. If you can accept that, we will have peace. If you cannot, you will be thrown out.
Pre 2020, I had the same fear of Islam, but once I stopped believing our uk media and politicians, it's woken me up to the truth , I no longer have that same fear and hatred . My only advice to others is to do your own research before believing what you read.

It's just that the Peter Obornes of this world are few and far between... Those who have occupied the positions that he has had in the past are pretty much supporters of the status quo at any cost; while here and there we find rare individuals with principles, integrity, as well as empathy. That's pretty rare in mainstream media, which is why he has had to migrate to independent media instead.

Peter Oborne epitomises the type of Briton England likes to pretend is the norm in the corridors of power. Unfortunately, he epitomises the exception rather than the rule and that just makes him all the more a treasure! Someone of similar intellect and integrity, who once graced the House of Commons, was Tony Benn.
There are problems with Christianity and Judaism too but Islam is slammed in mass media. Look at the genocide against the Palestinians and who made this possible, our Christian nation.
When moral guidance comes from Society/Gov't, it'll reject Islam in totality. But when moral Guidance is depicted from the Creator, no doubt Islam is the way of life.
The Islamic notion that they can declare speech as blasphemy and condone murder. The idea that someone should be murdered for damaging or burning a book. These say all we need to. Free speech, personal freedom, can never give way religious sensitivity.
Not when you know the actual difference between Islam and Jihadism, but pretend not to and just use Islamophobia as a lazy excuse to not learn facts it's not.
Richard Nixon: "As we develop our policies to engage the Muslim world, we must begin with respect and understanding for peoples who feel that they have been misunderstood, discriminated against, and exploited by Western powers. We should not try to impose our values on them. Though the Muslim world lags behind the West in political development -- only two Muslim nations have democratic governments -- our civilization is not inherently superior to theirs. The people of the Muslim world were more resilient against the appeal of communism than those of the West, and their widespread rejection of the materialism and moral permissiveness of Western culture redounds to their credit.
Muslims will be more resilient against any ideology that isn't Islam, of course. Their entire way of life and thought derives from it. There are no other alternatives.
You know there was a certain German leader in the middle of the 20th century who also quite liked Islam for how violent it was compared to Christianity!

I think most of the people watching this video don't get it. They look at the role of "the west", the mistakes of "the west" and "western guilt". Who is "the west?" @@marcwinfield1541 “it’s who shapes the values we attribute to “the west””, indeed, though it’s more accurately described as “what”, rather than who. I'm halfway through this interview, and it's shocking that neither host nor guest seems to attach any significance to the centuries-old imperialist quest to control West Asia for its natural resources, its cheap labor, and its markets for goods produced by the industrialed nations. Around the world the Europeans, including the US, have promoted justifications for their inhumane colonial behavior by stereotyping and demonizing the indigenous as subhuman. That stereotyping of the exploited is a classic way of oppressor groups to rationalize their inhumane behavior. Control of West Asia has huge geopolitical significance as it permits access to Africa, Eastern Europe, etc, and it yields great resources in oil as Halliburton recognized in the aughts.
Yes, and we have very often empowered the most extreme groups. So we can use them as proxies for our power games. As the peaceful groups tend to be less interested in dying for the empire.

In his book titled “Islam at the Crossroads” on page 49 published in 1934, Muhammad Asad said that “many of Western civilizations historical experiences are deeply tinged by a strange animosity towards Islam.
To some extent, this also is an inheritance from Europe's antiquity. The Greeks and the Romans regarded only themselves as "civilized", while everything foreign, and particularly everything living to the east of the Mediterranean, bore the label "barbarian". Since that time the Occidentals have believed that their racial superiority over the rest of mankind is a matter of fact, and the more or less pronounced contempt for non-European races and nations is one of the standing features of Western civilization. This alone, however, is not enough to explain its feeling as regards Islam. Here, and here alone, the Western attitude is not one of mere indifference, as in the case of other "foreign" religions and cultures: it is one of deep-rooted and almost fanatical aversion, and it is not only intellectual but bears an intensely emotional tint. The West may not accept the doctrines of Buddhist or Hindu philosophy, but it will always preserve a balanced, reflective attitude of mind with regard to those systems. As soon, however, as it turns towards Islam, the balance is disturbed and an emotional bias creeps in” (Islam at the Crossroads, p. 49).
The reason for that is quite simple: follow the money. IT is the Middle East, the Muslim countries, that have the oil which creates the energy that the West needs, wants and craves and without that their people would turn against them & as elected leaders, they want to keep the masses happy so they can continue in their cushy job of oppressing everybody.
The Muslims have defeated European military forces more than once, they have raw materials like oil coveted by Christian imperialism, they command a crucial position in terms of geopolitical strategy in their access to Africa, Central and southern Europe, Russian lands, the Indian ocean, the European countries deep down know how reliant their scientific, mathematical, cultural, philosophical, etc., development has been on West Asian achievements, and Islam has successfully competed with Christianity as a faith, outstripping the latter's growth in recent times.
I should have added to the reasons for the tenacity of the bigotry against Islam, Iranians, and Arabs that the anti-semitism against Jews that has either hibernated, percolated, or erupted over centuries in Europe (and hence in its former colonies like the US) has striking parallels with stereotypes of Muslims, Arabs, and Iranians, so that when western imperialist powers want to arouse public support for incursions, financial/economic pressure like sanctions, or other coercive measures to gain control of West Asian lands, they can easily press buttons already in place. Ironically and in stupefying oblivion as to the danger for Jews of keeping such stereotypes alive in the west, since the foundation of Israel Zionists of all faiths (Zionism is a political belief in the right of Jews to form and maintain a nation in the historic Palestinian homeland) have sought to publicize these repellent stereotypes: 1) the rich, ruthless Arab sheik parallels the rich, greedy Jewish banker or merchant, 2) the ubiquitous cartoon depiction of the fat, super-hairy, beady-eyed, giant-nosed Arab or Iranian closely echoes Nazi caricatures of Jews, 3) the Arab oil cartel, and, to some extent, the alleged terrorist networks bent on world domination parallel the cabal referenced in the Protocols of Zion, 4) the oppression of women and access to harems parallel alleged Jewish lust for gentile women, the younger and more virginal the better, 5) aggression towards infidels based in an exclusionary belief in Allah as the one true god parallels Jewish belief in their chosenness for rule and influence by the one true god, and 6) the disposition to cruelty and general savagery parallels the blood libel whereby Jews ceremonially drink the blood of gentile babies.
25:14 Yeah in a secular democracy it is extremist or what you want a totalitarian Muslim Theocracy? Would you also be ok with Christians bringing their religion into politics?

I am unpersuaded by Peter Oborne on Islam. It is a historical fact that Islamic rule spread rapidly by violent conquest. Arabia, Syria, Palestine, North Africa, Spain, parts of France, Sicily, Persia, and so on, were all conquered by the Caliphs. The Muslims were constantly pressing in on the Byzantines, Italian States, and so on. There is a sense in which what now call Europe was invented by the dialectic with the Muslims. Classical Islamic law permits the violent conquest of non-Muslim territories for the purpose of spreading Islamic rule. But it has to be done under the leadership of a Caliph. Perhaps the perception of Islam as violent comes from that?
The centuries of Muslim rule in Spain pretty much saved what became a critical basis for subsequent development of European culture and science. People of all faiths thrived in Moorish Spain. Greek scientific/philosophic/mathematical acquisitions did not pass. directly into Europe but from the Greek language to Arabic to Latin with scholars, usually monks, collaborating on translations in Spain and disseminating in the countries to the north. This is not to leave out the many contributions that Arabs and Persians made or kept alive either. before Islam developed or later.
@@Umme-45 What did I say that was incorrect? I can quote from an article written by Abdal Hakim Murad (Timothy J. Winter) on classical Islamic law on warfare. You might have heard of Abdal Hakim Murad? He is a devout Sunni Muslim who studied at Al-Azhar and is now a professor of Islamic studies at Cambridge University. He writes in the article that classical Islamic law allows the conquering of non-Muslim lands for the purposes of expanding Islamic rule. And, no, I am not anti-Muslim. I actually studied Islam in Istanbul and in universities in the UK. The _fact_ is that Sunni Islam does indeed permit offensive warfare to spread Islamic rule. How do you explain that Islam conquered Arabia, then Syria, Persia, much of Byzantium, North Africa, Spain and south France, etc? All of that was achieved by the Caliphs, including the Rashidun. What's not correct?
@@starrbowie8649 Yes; I am aware of the transmission of Greco-Roman learning through the Muslims in Spain (and elsewhere). But what about the point I was making? Islamic rule was spread through the yielding of the sword. And its right there in classical islamic law.
I was very much on board with the conversation, until it veered into the usual righteous cliches about immigration - i.e. that any opposition to the policies that have created an explosion of migration into Europe in recent years is based purely on fear and bigotry, especially towards Islam, and that these challenges eminate entirely from the far right. The more this attitude persists, the more the very real problems of unchecked immigration and forced multiculturalism on European societies continue to grow.
I loath the word 'Islamism' it's just a nonsense. The Arabic word Islam (regardless of what anyone thinks of the religion) means 'Peace'. What on earth is 'peaceism' it simply makes no sense! After listening to Oborne speak for 10 min, it became blatantly obvious, that his explanation of what Islam stands for, how the world sees Islam, and what theocracies are all about, were very different from the facts. I decided to look at his biography, and in almost every area of discussion, he has a penchant for routinely supporting the world’s terrorist entities. In 2012, he said young teenage girls are to blame when raped. In 2014, he criticized Saudi Arabia for asking the British government to investigate The Muslim Brotherhood, one of the most notorious Sunni Islam terrorist organizations, with ties to Adolph Hitler, and whose members include Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and others. Obama also supported MB and revitalized Iran’s financial situation, giving them the ability to keep funding state sponsored terrorism, as well as to fund its nuclear program. In 2015, he objected to the Saudi led coalition of 9 countries, responding to a call for help from the ousted President Hadi of Yemen, to stop the Houthi rebels’ insurgency. We’re quite familiar with the damage the Houthi’s have done to international shipping, let alone the 80,000 Yemenis they massacred. In 2013, Oborne co-wrote a book about how delusional the West was to think that Iran’s nuclear program posed a danger to us all. He opposed sanctions on Iran, and he called Ayatollah Khomeini one of the greatest theologians of our time. I would say Khomeini is one of the greatest mass murderers of our time. On a podcast involving both authors, Douglas Murray asserted that Morrison, with the acquiescence of Oborne, made disingenuous claims about President Ahmadinejad's history of Holocaust denial. It’s quite clear that Oborne is incredibly ignorant of the rudimentary principles that underpin the current Iranian regime. He lives in a fantasy world.
I think it dosn't account for a lot of very real problems. What about sexual violance, what about male power trips like baning woman from universities? What about freedom of speach re critics of religion? What about LGBT+ civil rights? What about etc.
@@AnyaMuslimah how so? Because they are real. There have been real problems with the killing of Samuel Party for example. Western societies had to undergo a very long process to reach this consensus and muslims come from another cultrue and another religion, the point is will they truly adapt in? I am not saying that's not possible! I think it is. But there absuluty are muslims who do and those who don't want that.
You expect Muslims to actually criticize themselves? They woulnd't be so underdeveloped if they could honestly criticize themselves and improve! What they are going to do is blame the West and anyone else who isn't themselves, so they will feel great while they stay backwards!
@catsaresocute650 All those things you mentioned happened or continue to happen in ALL societies for one reason or another. You would find that it's culture before anything else (especially if they are conservative). I don't know if you meant you wish to see those topics discussed in general or with the view of the religion in mind. I can only comment on the religious perspective. These are all things Europe and Christianity had gone through until a few decades ago. It was only until the later 1900s that Europeans women were allowed to go to university (or even go to war). Muslim women had been going to universities well over a thousand years before European women were able to do so-mostly of Christian backgrounds. The first institutionalised universities and hospital were founded by Muslims in Muslim countries. To this day Muslim women go to universities if they want to - anyone preventing them would be doing so from their own standpoint whether it may be cultural or personal as there is nothing in the faith that generally prevents them from doing so. Remember how European women used to dress in say the 1950s compared to now? It would be obscene if the women then dressed like many of those now (i.e. you can't force change to norms of societies). As far as I know from research, the most sexual violence cases reported by region or continent was Europe and North America, especially East Europe. And this was both during and after their religious periods, which would be Christian? However, I'm not going to saying it is because I'm not going to overgeneralise entire populations. Other larger regions/continents have less reports, maybe because they aren't as secular and are grounded in their principles or faith that don't allow the escalation of domestic violence. Reasons aren't as clear. LGBTQ+ rights are still contested amongst many practising Christians, Jews, etc. to this day and is even mentioned to go against their Scriptures - so this cannot be pinned on faith/another faith for properly practising what they preach. I doubt Jesus would just change the message to suit the modern society. It's only as the western countries became more secular and less religious, that they started opening up to these ideas and rights which is mostly the past 15 years really, especially after Obama. Critics of religions exist in Muslim countries. However, criticising any faith will receive backlash from adherents of thar faith regardless. There is a difference in criticism, hatred/defamation and outright blasphemy. Some countries treat blasphemy harsher. In India, Hindus lynch the religious minorities (mostly Muslims) to this day and the government don't care. The same happened in Burma/Myanmar. Remember the Rohingya or the Uighurs in China? In America, they used to treat people of other backgrounds as subhuman and often kill them (outside of slavery) - those sentiments still last to many supremacists to this day. Hitler, in his book Mein Kampf states he is a Christian - and what did he do? Because of that many Germans have a similar ideology. In France, they are basically trying to remove Muslims and stop them from practising their religion. The same in China and even Korea. There is no white supremacy equivalent in the Middle East, only national pride or a supremacist view of that standpoint but not regionally or racially Many eastern countries of non-Abrahamic faith, whether religious or secular, do not accept LGBTQ+. They may go as far as the G part but nothing more, the rest is generally banned in most Asian countries. Why? Because they are accustomed to their traditions where this is not the normality. Even the G relationships have to be done discreetly in a lot of cases - whilst it may be becomimg accepted to see, it's not accepted fully in the scale of reality (i.e. interviews and polls in those countries show many parents don't want their children to be in such groups AND that's not just the LGBT community but religious and other communities which are not practised as the norms there). Gay people have existed in communities for many centuries but everything else the LGBTQ+ community represents, not really. Majority conservative Christians and Jews don't agree with LGBTQ+ rights. Because it goes against their faith. Likewise with Islam, there won't really be much traction. It's more of a you can do what you want with your children but don't go pushing the LGBTQ+ agenda to the Middle East-practically the most conservative countries in the world by culture irrespective of religions (you can see many Christians of the region take the same stance). In other words, the discussion wouldn't have gotten very far because there are counter examples, whereas the topic of the video is long-rooted in the history of Europe from the middle ages to this day.
Its a book of myths dude. Look at how the West is basically atheist, because they use logic instead of the wisdom of a 7th century warlord.

Free speech is the right to disrespect Islam
But no one can dare have free speech against Israel. Democracy is hypocrisy.
The Islamic notion that they can declare speech as blasphemy and condone murder. The idea that someone should be murdered for damaging or burning a book. These say all we need to. Free speech, personal freedom, can never give way religious sensitivity.

"As we develop our policies to engage the Muslim world, we must begin with respect and understanding for peoples who feel that they have been misunderstood, discriminated against, and exploited by Western powers.

His calmness lulls citizens into letting down their guard against a danger they need to be vigilant against.
@@samuelgoldring9691 to describe your explanation by your standard: you are fear Mongering.
Yes, now you can't even defeat dysgenic half breed Jews in the heart of the Levant.@@starrbowie8649

Anda tidak tahu sejarah.kerana ketika itu penyebaran Islam cepat dan merata dunia membuatkan orang barat membuat tindakan dengan memfitnah Islam. Membawa persepsi buruk tentang Islam sehingga mewujudkan perkataan

I guess facts are not your strong point? Do you copy paste this propaganda on Muslim channels only?

But you can’t expect an hour Long discussion to cover *every* relevant matter there is, for which there’s ample material online- it’s a mere discussion, not a 4 hour long lecture.
At the ten minute mark he claims that the prophet Muhmmed was a great teacher of wisdom and morality. I had to laugh so hard about these STUPID comment. Prophet Mohammed = Rapist and this is NOT a morality I would recommend. What do you think?
Time to turn off these video it is a waste of time.
What is Islam really like? & why - if you already know which is why you know the interview left it out - do you need the interview to discuss what it is really like? Pray, do tell?
@@HitchcockTheSnail The title is misleading. And I know I don't know much about it and I don't have time to do research so I was disappointed. That's all. No big deal.
Who complained? Who shouted on the streets, promoting lunacy?
Who kept on murmuring? Who taught children to kill Israel?
Now you know. Study the KJV Holy Bible. Know the creator. Isaiah 41:8-13 NKJV
"But you, Israel, are My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, The descendants of Abraham My friend. [9] You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, And called from its farthest regions, And said to you, 'You are My servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away: [10] Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.' [11] "Behold, all those who were incensed against you Shall be ashamed and disgraced; They shall be as nothing, And those who strive with you shall perish. [12] You shall seek them and not find them- Those who contended with you. Those who war against you Shall be as nothing, As a nonexistent thing. [13] For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you.'.,.
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
God also says in the holy Quran that nobody has any superiority over each other.
Poor Peter. He might actually believe half of what he’s saying. If I didn’t know better I might even believe him.
What about how the Muslim religious leaders talk about Islam ?

Why can you be arrested for saying sexual deviancy (Sodomy)is disgusting and detrimental to health,if we have Free speech?
I think it dosn't account for a lot of very real problems. What about sexual violance, what about male power trips like baning woman from universities? What about freedom of speach re critics of religion? What about LGBT+ civil rights? What about etc.
You may need to re-watch this video to understand where your "whatabouts" came from.
First female university was built by muslims.
There is no white supremacy equivalent in the Middle East, only national pride or a supremacist view of that standpoint but not regionally or racially
Many eastern countries of non-Abrahamic faith, whether religious or secular, do not accept LGBTQ+.
Sunan Abi Dawud 2147
Its a book of myths dude. Look at how the West is basically atheist, because they use logic instead of the wisdom of a 7th century warlord. We also don't drink camel pee to treat illnesses, you know, because we use our brains? You guys truly don't understand how barbaric you look to the West, do you?
