PS has the best potential to have the best armored gameplay of 2023 but needs to simulate overpressure and ammo racks properly
Overpressure isn't simulated but you can instantly ammo rack if you hit the racks in the tank.
Does it simulate individual casings in the tank? The Ammunition looks like nothing but a flat rectangle when it shows the modules while repairing.@@chaosmaou

@bigwhite21 when you shoot near a tank with a big HE shell the explosion with not directly destroy the tank but the pressure of the explosion is so great that the bloodveins and other soft tissue like lungs collapse and that kills the crew a german stick grenade will do the same if your to close to it
@@officerice also does the same when your HE shell doesn’t actually penetrate armor but fragments on the other side of the armor fly off

i love it how post scriptum gets rebranded and it takes off.
It wasn't the rebranding that had it take off but the fact that OWI took it over and with it a resparked hope for the game to keep getting developed and supported for years to come. The rebranding just made it official : )

Thats a lot more then the 5 open servers i last saw prior to them taking it over. all of which had a max of 10 players or less. However one was around 60 players. So it is still more then prior on average. @@ghostfacen745

@@ghostfacen745 I mean they only acquired the game recently. they still need to actually update the game and stuff which will take some time. Organizing a dev team, sorting out the legal and financial stuff(likely already begun before announcement) and also needing to kinda look at how everything is coded before they can build off of it.
Great gameplay footage and great tanking! I love PS armor (superior to Squad armor and HLL armor in MY opinion. [I have 1200+ hours in Squad especially armor]). I know the video author already stated this but the reason why Stuarts, recons and many tanks in this game may not be dying to shells instantly is because the rounds in this game simulate how they actually work. I'll use APCR as an example. It is a great penetrating round but you'd have to aim for the ammo rack directly or a crewman directly or the engine directly to score a significant hit in this game. As the creator may have said already, it is similar to WT... without Gaijin deleting your shell midflight. So, basically if you shoot a solid shot AP round at an enemy Stuart or a Greyhound (Any armored car really), that round will go through unless it is APCBC-HE or anything with HE filler.

Yeah, the gunner we had was a random blueberry who hadn't played the game before. He was still learning. Even I sometimes forget to change rounds after the first shot.
Armored cars are actually currently broken. You need to use solid shot to kill them, as APHE has such a varied fragmentation RNG that you’ll likely need 4-5 hits to kill it with APHE, while 1-2 APCR will hullbreak
@chaosmaou Ah, that's ok. We all make mistakes, and we learn from it. I find myself doing that too. Can't tell how many times I shot infantry with AP instead of HE and embarrassed myself to other friendly crewmembers
@edelweiss45 I see. Most times, I just go for ammo rack shots on anything. I spent most of my time on PS with AT and armor to learn the weak spots and ammo racks since I am way too used to learning ammo rack shots in Squad armor
As much as I enjoy HLL armor my crew has been easing our way into Squad 44 and overall we're liking it even if its a lot more complex in some ways.

@@Skull-dw3knNah, i have seen this since the game was released, i have seen those scout cars take full on Tiger tank shells, and multiple types. The original devs had a huge boner for anything allied and hated anything German.

Sadly the very best games can be ruined by players (kids)...one of my favorite sayings is "why do tigers eat their young...preventive maintenance"!
The game had a player count issue for a long time due to bad performance and lack of updates. Player count has jumped up 10x since OWI acquired the game. Hopefully the future updates will bring more players as well.

Great video. 300 hours of gameplay, and I have never played Armor before, so this was rather eye-opening for me. Really informative, from your perspective. I particularly enjoyed the killing of the exposed vehicle commanders, lol! I get lucky and pop a few myself. My biggest accomplishment against armor, though was managing to kill the driver of a Greyhound while using Scharfschutze! Sniped him through his driver window. Never been able to pull that off since, lol!! I've tried this against heavier armor too but have been unsuccessful. Is it possible to do this against tank drivers or gunners? Great video, thanks for the upload. Best WW2 game I've ever played.
You can for sure get killed inside the tank! I get killed at 8:28 by one in the video. I myself have 283 hours in Post Scriptum, with a good part of it in armor.

The game just got bought by Offworld Industries, the makers of Squad and the original publisher for the game. It is being actively developed and getting real advertising now. We had 10 full servers the other night! Once it's big new update drops with bug fixes the game will take off even more.

I had just reinstalled windows and set the game to max settings without turning it off. Don't worry, its off now and will be in any future videos lol.

I have a MSI laptop with a GTX 1660 and a I7-8700 but the fps often drops to 20/30 in combat.

This was my first match in about 6 months, for some reason I thought the smoke effect was the barrel/breach being damaged, but now I realize it's the ammo cooking off.

I had just gotten my new computer built, so everything was set to the default ultra preset. I forgot to turn motion blur off in this video, sorry for the smeary mess.
Don't know if you're too worried about it but it's really hard to make out what any of you were saying at many points during the video, seemed to be loud one sec then almost imperceptible at times, unless it was in action bits where you shouted hold hold or stuff like that. Barely could hear the other guys at all. And I missed most of what you were all saying which made it a bit confusing not having played it to know what was likely happening.
Still a pretty good video with the action and stuff and I don't know maybe you're not exactly commenting for our benefit while you're playing but it would be nice to hear more imo.

so when the squad's devs revive this game are they changed the tank's damage model? Because I thought they bring ballistic damage model like war thunder at some update.
That was put into the game with the armor update back in 2021. The new armor system is featured through the entire video as this was new gameplay.

Yeah some effects looks a bit silly. Hopefully we will get some graphical improvements after we get our bug fix patch in the coming months.
How recent was this match?
It was on november 26th of this year, so right after OWI acquired the game. The player count has shot up quite a lot lately.
One thing I would like to correct you on is, the Tiger tank you mentioned at 49:40 is not a King Tiger its the Tiger 1 tank, The King Tiger or Tiger 2 is a different tank that was produced near the end of World War 2. King Tigers had stronger and angled armor to deflect tank rounds from the American Shermans, Tiger 1 had a 75mm Main gun and the Tiger 2 had a 88mm Main gun, but had many draw backs to it over the Tiger 1, the Tiger 2 was slower and was prone to mechanical problems espcially its transmission which was underrated for the extremly heavy tank. I loved the video, great tactics for tank play!
You are 100% right, thanks for bringing this up. I know the differences but kept making mistakes in this video, I know that isn't the only instance in which I called the names of these tanks incorrectly. I updated my pinned comment to reflect my mistake.
Tiger 1 used an 88mm main gun also. Panther had a 75mm. The Tiger II’s 88mm shell had a much bigger case

Its a custom built pc with a 7800X3D and a Sapphire Nitro+ 7800 XT, just built recently.
There is no realistic effect that beats a clear, aliasing free, high fps image.

Take this with a grain of salt as it's just my opinion. I only played HLL for a total of 6.5 hours, and during most of that I experience horrible sound design and texture popping at distance. I couldn't hear enemy gunfire even when very close. If those issues have been fixed since then, HLL has a more faster COD style of gameplay, while PS plays a lot more like Squad with focus on objectives and teamwork rather than killcount.

I agree with you, I feel PS tanking system is too arcady and fast, with Hell Let Loose I enjoy a more slow paced heavier feel to tanking with gears and different speeds depending on the type of tank. However, I like the command ability to look out the hatch on the tank at the top, I feel that's a feature HLL need to add.
Post Scriptum added manual transmission and different driving feeling to each tank nearly two years ago.

Offworld Interactive, the publisher for the game and makers of Squad just bought out Post Scriptum a few weeks ago. They are working on a big new update and future content, so the game should start picking up. The other night we had 10 full servers!

The recon survived like 4 shots from the Panzer 4 and 2 shots from the Puma, yet the Panzer 4 died to a couple of shots from the recon? I know the shots location matters but why would anyone go for a big slow tank when they can wreck havoc in a recon tank.

Yeah a lot of this is the gunner using incorrect rounds. Pretty sure he was using AP by accident -- the rounds just go straight through recon without doing much damage.
No. IL-2 has the best armored combat.
Unfortunately it's all it has going for it. HLL is bettet at everything else.
No stamina, no gun ranging, spawns inside objectives, terrible sound design, lack of communication beetwen squad members and squad leaders,In game stats(you can throw a random grenade in a bush and check if you got a kill), artillery hitmarker,

@isakdik9370 I've played both games. HLL is better at the moment. Anyone checking for stats after throwing a grenade is stupid. Gonna get smoked if you do. Stamina is an odd thing in shooters. It is never done right. S44 does the classic shooter method of pulling a person off the street and giving them a gun telling them let's go kill some Krauss. They act like the soldier you're playing as never went to basic or has any kind of condition. HLL is closer to realistic in that respect. And apart from sniper scopes and certain shoulder fired AT weapons very few weapons had adjustable ranging. Eyeballing it was the preferred method in ww2, especially during engagements. The communication issue is only a recent problem after the game went to gamepass. Before then communication was frequent and much less toxic. S44 can become better then HLL. The new devs have the experience to do it. But right now? It isn't better.

Gunner was using AP and didn't switch to HE.
Best game in 2023? Then this is the only game. Because the damage model is biased. Allied tanks are to good and Wehrmact tanks are to weak. Thei infantery weapons are biased the panzerschreck cant reload lying down but the piat shoots heat-ammo as automatic fire. The wheeled vehicles fly above the fields, swamps and dikes, and the tanks cant push away a tree.

The fact you were sitting with your body outside the turret, got smacked 3 times by another tank & never died or sustained serious injury, tells me this is far from being the best armoured gameplay.
Those rounds were bouncing off or deflecting due to angle. The gunner apparently didn't notice me directly, I was a bit surprised I didn't get an AP round to the face lol.
@@chaosmaou Right at the beginning @1:48? All the rounds seemed to explode on impact bud, and you had to get out & repair several sections of the tank. It was actually 4 rounds you took. None of them looked like they deflected. I want to like this game, but there's just too many inaccuracies, as well as laziness with adding interiors & damage to buildings. Or damage to the landscape, everything just looks too pretty for a war zone. I will admit that ppl communicating & working as a unit does seem to be better than HLL, but I think that's mainly down to a lower player count, meaning you'll have more dedicated players. I hope with new devs being on board, they'll pick up on these issues, because I know for definite that these issues I have with the game, are the same issues most HLL players have with PS. A reworking of buildings inside & out, and damage to landscapes making it feel more like how it actually looked during these times & the player count will rise.

The game is like war thunder for damage , and is the only game of is type to use that mecanism … also in real life a penetrated shot mosly only kill some of the crew unless the ammo blow up and the tank can be repair . Its a game it cant be 100% realism or it will be not fun
Pretty sure my gunner was using AP instead of HE. Unless he hits the crew or a critical component the AP rounds glide right through light armor like a bullet through paper and do very little hull damage.
