@erik Most Trap or Trap-inspired Hip-Hop in general isn't that hard. A good rapper can easily carry your track anyway. The big thing for trap is just nailing the basics. If you can nail a basic trap sound, you're like 90% of the way to a legit track. I'd say absolutely nailed it. I do prefer the vocals to be more mono-tone and in the background, but it still makes for a very good song that definetly fits into the phonk genre.
Yeah no it’s not pretty sure you’re trying refer to old Memphis demo tapes from the 90s that get used as samples but phonk is not supposed to sound like cracked version of FL studio I guess you’re just making fun of genre and not actually a fan.
I love this genre (specifically drift phonk) just for the fact the community has associated it with underground car racing/drifting. The beat aspect, tied with the reeses and (normally) memphis rap samples, just make you want to shred tires, or just cruise, everytime you listen.
It’s more that the car scene has made it associated with drifting and hard driving. The “chill phonk” scene is much larger than the purely cowbell melodies and distorted 808s.
if you like people making it look easy, maybe Bishu would be up your alley? Also has some pretty interesting videos like combining genres to create new ones

Hi oversampled, I wish you and all the other "i made phonk youtubers" could stop generalizing an entire genre, especially when it goes much deeper then cowbell and super distorted 808s.
There is more to phonk than cowbells and overused 30 year old memphis samples. I understand you have to make a living doing this however it is extrememly disrespectful to many reputable phonk producers who have shaped the genre in the past 10 years.
