tv hughie and original hughie
Even better, Wee Hughie if he never had lost Robin.
EXACTLY!!!! It's funny how the actor who plays his father looks much more like the original Hughie
@@GustavoSilva-ny8jc because the original hughie is based on him
Now simon Pegg plays his comic version in Diabolical
A Full Cunt Circle.
Damn from hating his father and seeing him as weak to realizing how his dad was being strong to be there for him
one of the most beautiful parts of this show in my opinion
Should've been Andrew Neiman's realization in Whiplash (2014).
@@BillyButcher90wait I wanna hear more . Do you think that's what andrew thinks about fletcher?
@@chip1464 What? That he regards Fletcher more as a father than he does his own biological father?
R.I.P😢😢
“sitting on the couch staring at the TV like we're already dead” gave me Shaun of the Dead flashbacks
I wonder if that possibly could have been an inside reference...
Yea the show does have a bunch of Shaun of the dead references like how Hughie is a tv technician
I’m glad that Simon Pegg is a legit part of the TV series. Besides that brief cameo i S3 I really hope Simon finds the time to return in the next seasons.
wait when was his cameo?
In the first episode, he’s having a zoom meeting with him. They are talking about how his dentist is a big fan of starlight
erm....
This did not age well…poor hughie
He got V in his veins now
bro i feel so bad for his dad
I cried In this scene 😭
“You’re not Hughie.”
Damn that hurt me today
As a parent this scene makes me cry. My little girl is 14 now. I can’t keep up with what she likes and doesn’t like anymore. It breaks my heart every time she “no longer likes” something that used to be foundational to our relationship, or we would have a ton of fun doing. The last one that really hurt was tucking her into bed. She’s “too old”. I know she’s right but I enjoyed sitting with her, talking, reading or watching something, sometimes sneaking her a small snack, and tucking her in. Now she closes her door and puts herself to bed. Cherish those moments.
They are not going to show it, especially at such a young age im sure. But we’ve all been there I’m sure you have too, those phases where we are this way to our parents. But I know for a fact you’re a great parent. Just keep on trying. It’s confusing I know to have someone you love and cherish behave this way but you’ll both see eventually that you both are there for each other. Just be the same loving parent that’s there for their child but at the same time expect change. A change where you’re not always gonna read the mind of them, to not know what they like and dislike. A change where you are going to doubt yourself, but still be there for them when they need it and when they call out to you. She’ll appreciates you I’m sure of it 🙇🏾♂️
RIP Hughie's Dad he's eating Pizza Rolls up in Heaven now.
Hughie has a great father, Hughie is an idiot. I'm a little teary because of what a caring father he has. This is exactly the kind of support I have needed all my life )
It breaks my heart that he's gone.
The dad coddled him too much.
In the comic books, Fenchie's dad loved him and died defending his honor against a bully who stole Frenchie's girlfriend and humiliated him.
They ruined his dad here.
@@stephenking5852 hes fine shut up
@@c0zyD dang relax
Died defending his honour? What does that mean?
Frenchie faked his backstory
This scene made me feel so bad for the dad ):
To me hugie dad works as a dad he knows when his son girlfriend got A-trained he knew it was a losing battle and wanted his son to step down and move on and even after his wife left him he still try to do the right thing and try to be there for his son as he knew he had to move on himself at somepoint
Growing up is realising that Hughie’s dad was the reasonable one.
He may have been a pushover but he never had malicious intentions
When Hughie's Dad picked up the Homelander figurine plus knowing what happened with his Son's Girlfriend He knew or suspected that Hughie( his son) is growing up and that he wants to go out fighting but also sad that it's against people he can't protect his Son from.
@@lurking234 I'm sorry 😔
Frechie: “I guess both our dads smothered us in a way”
Huey: Immediately appreciates his dad more
Hughie: I hate sitting and watching tv like we’re already dead.
Me: You tell ‘em (as I sit and binge tv for hours)
lmaooooooooo
The ending was really touching, for Frenchie to open up like this, and is a direct connection to how Hughie's father and the status quo was smothering his life. Even more, it's about how harm can come from the people we hold dearest or that "shouldn't do this".
Just because the dad is overly caring, does't mean the son need to be dick about it.
Welp, Hughie’s probably really regretting those words rn. ☹️
For those who don't know, the boys started as a comic. And hughies illustration was literally based off Simon pegg; he is the original hughie.
It's great that they got him a part in the show and he took it. Amazing support from Simon pegg.
This hits different after s4
Yea... Its heartbreaking knowing his father wants him to be open because of his mother's depression.
I see Liz have dumped Shaun, again. But at least he raised his son all by himself.
Yea and he moved to ny
Shaun of the Dead reference
At least he didn't get bit by a zombie, and that's the important thing.
@@maskedmarvyl4774 Wonder if Ed is still there with Shaun, living in the shed.
@@berandom2000 playing what black ops 2?
Damn hits hard after s4 ep 5 rest in peace
We lost a real one
this hits different now after the new episode
*Right after Frenchie leaves*
Hughei: It’s not a contest Frenchie! 😡
Lol I think frenchie was trying to make Hughie feel better
I love how Hughie doesn’t grow up in luxury like all these other shows but he lives in an apartment
FYI Hughie never really hated pizza rolls, they just brought back some bad memories. That s it. Watch season 3
Oh! I actually missed that
1:04, L on the pizza rolls, they’re always delicious😔
This scene really contrasted with me because...i love pizza rolls
Especially if you air fry them- it’s a game changer
@@seancallahan603to add to that, try them with buffalo sauce🤯
Never had pizza rolls in my life
yeah when he was seven hes not seven anymore
That’s right! If you’re ever anything but lovely to Simon Pegg, you better apologize IMMEDIATELY!!!
Yeah, you just instantly become polite when you hear his British accent
Bro the pizza rolls part got me giggling fr 😭
Watching this scene makes me realize how I treat my dad the same way.
This *really* hurts to watch now.😞
Why does his dad look more like hughie than he does😂
Because he IS Hughie. Comic Hugh was based off Simon Pegg
0:59 Shaun of the Dead
yes
;( rest in peace wee Hughie 😢
Hughie talking to Hughie….
EDIT: Also, Superman talking to Hughie.
Also, RIp Hughie Sr.
This aged well 😢
So they hired comic book hughie to play tv show hughie's father
Obviously the creators really wanted Pegg in the series. This is the best compromise, I’m glad he’s in it
they couldve made him scottish like the comic
0:45 This was so relatable to me and my mom
Hughie (Me)
Hugh Sr (My mom)
And it honestly hurts because she was being strong for me this whole time
Ok
After season 3, i think he owes his dad and apology
He did say sorry before he left
Thanks dad.
R.i.p Wee Hughie
No you Love pizza rolls
-when I was 7!
I am not 7.
My father was bipolar. One night when I was seven he tried to smother me with a Hello Kitty duvet.
@@HaveANiceDayLol. that’s so cute
Dude Simon Pegg should've played the part of Hughie imo
He's kinda up there in age though. That's why they cast him as the dad instead.
Nah Jack Quaid was brilliant.
Yeah he's too old to play Hughie but he's great as his dad
Initially he was meant to, since the comic version of Hughie was based off pegg. But by the time the show came around to being made he was too old to play Hughie. Good that they at least got him a role as the dad tho.
what kind of monster doesn’t appreciate pizza rolls
Apparently a monster with good taste
This hits different now 😭😭😭
If you can see hughie father face and personality more accurate to hughie comic book
Dam… watching this now, it hits so different. Like dam… 😢
Comic hughie is tv hughie's dad epic
This scene is so much sad now after the new eps.
Simon Pegg could’ve gotten a better accent coach. He still sounds very English
And that's why we all love him!
Usually americans don't notice. It's usually only people from the actor's original country.
I honestly don’t hear it… all I hear is an Iowan accent
@@jamesramplin8124 huh?
When he says "what do you mean" you can hear the English in him.
What's Dunn is Dunn, when we say it's Dunn. Benji Dunn respect lol
1:06
omg i was like why does he look so familiar then i realized its Benji
Knowing about Hughies Mom now makes this sting real bad
Honestly I could've taken simon pegg as hughie.
Gone to Paris to do the Da Vinci Code tour with his family 😞
They more look like brother my opinion.
………… well I like pizza rolls :(
Same
Hughie is hughie’s dad
Isnt that the guy cornetto guy
Why is this scene so sad
this scene was just sad
I just want to point out I love pizza rolls and I’m 32.
Pizza rolls will never not be good.....40 and still loving pizza rolls. I have a buddy who once he graduated college started acting like he was above things that nornal people eat.......like he didn't grow up two blocks from my house. We both graduated college he just forgot his roots. Still love the guy though
Gary King And Marvel
His dad looks more like he does for some reason
Huigh was based off Simon Pegg in the comics if that’s what your talking about.
And I almost mistook Jack Quaid for being British
TV Hughie meets Comic Hughie:
TV Hughie: Dad??
Comic Hughie: Did I get meself a wee bit sloshed and accidentally father a lad somewhere? Mom said that I might turn out just like me old man
Benji from mission impossible
I wish Simon Pegg play the original Hughie in the show
I think he’s too old to play Starlight’s love intrest
And I thought his dad talk irish, like In a comic book
Scottish
@@sugarray6250 Sorry
That Simon pegg
As much as I hate to admit it the leaks seem to confirm that Hughie and his mom are gonna be in for a rude awakening
wait THAT WAS THE HOT FUZZ GUY??????
:(
I think starlight father was Hughie father well Annie did go on compound v not Hughie he was healthy and Annie isn't that's why she has superpower
Don’t really like Hughies dad, also don’t like my own dad
