Yeah the way the animatronics warp directly to your location when a security bot finds you is kind of dumb. Would've been a better mechanic to just have the animatronic rush straight to your location instead, giving you time to try to get out of there but also making it to where you have to hope you're not going to run into the animatronic while it's rushing to the location you were found in.
@@frogballoon you wanna know how they could make it hard without being cheap. Give them their OWN personal way of moving and attacking. Then when they get to their second form, have them have to change tactics to compensate for losing parts. You could have them come out of a vent, from a door, out of elevators.
It sounds like the security robots should have been on a slow consistent path. That’s one of the best parts of sneaking games. The animatronics on a random path (like alien isolation) is great, but the security robots shouldn’t behave this way.
it would be nice with a tiny randomness factor, but having them going to literally any path can causes somee problems(like them getting stuck or something)
The paths are fine it’s the weird hitbox that makes it annoying. You get caught at random times and feel cheated for it. With the low frames and bugs it’s hard to tell when you’re safe.
Or remove the security bots, make like 1 security bot and actually, have some cameras as a replacement, instead of spawning the animatronic behind you have them actually come all the way and unexpectedly jump out from some near entrace when you are close or sneak out the entrance if you're not close. Also a vent chase with the original animatronics would be great instead of just music man, Imagine crawling and Monty just puts his jaw from a vent turn looking right at you. It's the AI in the environment that needed more work to the fnaf horror part and the feel of the characters, instead of more basic animated animal, should have been a bit more robotic kinda like Ignited foxy from TJOCR. Speaking of TJOCR they did a good job with the levels with the weeping angel endos, good inspiration, really love weeping angel mechanics in horror games, especially when there's so many of them. So basically the environment needed more of a closed lonely place just like previous fnaf where the animatronics roam and it's scary.
The only problems I have is the optimization and bugs in the game. I’m on PS4 and I noticed the game not running at 60 fps and the arcade section it makes it even worse. Then the teleporting animatronics when spotted by the help bots are really annoying to me. But I do like the game overall they just need to patch this game a lot
How did you get past the Montgomery battle of you’re on PS4? Mainly because people who play on PS4 can’t get through the battle without the game freezing. Please respond quickly. I know you aren’t asleep at this time.
im super sad ....i bought the first 2 ...and i kept following the franchise ....but this is just ....this is trash ....i mean i could polish a turd. look it up thats a thing, i COULD do that .....but ......why ? ....like what happened ? XD i dont understand how you mess up a 90 gig game and make it so boring......and glitchy .....just ....why lol
Low key it don’t feel the same, I think it’s too blocky, like the characters are too smooth and shaped, I have no idea how to describe what I’m trying to say but the characters themselves aren’t very scary but the situations can be tho
My only problem with this game is the AI. You can just go into a hiding place mid-chase and the animatronic will lose interest. Other than that, very solid game.
@@quintic22 its fun but you have to remember that when normally playing this game for the horror experience, bugs like this absolutely destroy player experience
As a long-time fan of the series, my main issue with this game is that it doesn't really feel like a fnaf game; It's missing a lot of the traditional hallmarks. You'd think they'd try and combine them with this 'regular' horror game formula, but they just completely buy into the overplayed elements of free-movement horror games, and don't even do it that well. Like, who's the audience for this? Where's the ridiculously challenging hard mode? Where are all the cool minigames, like midnight motorist? Where's the endless charm? Where were the shocking and climactic endings that had interesting lore implications?
Indeed it did sadly this isnt a scott game anymore just another generic game witch is sad because i was a fan since game 1 and ive been a fan since and its sad seeing it get destroyed
I think they just tried to expand the formula a lot for this one. Obviously when you stretch things out this much it will lose a lot of the original. Scott Cawthon pretty much said he finished those games after Custom Night and was open to new ideas and other companies. It's not a classic Scott Cawthon FNAF game but a new thing with some of his ideas. Those things you mention are appealing to old fans & indi gamers but maybe not the newer audiences they looking for.
@@TheAwesomeAccount the idea was pretty good but the execution was down bad that was the problem they ruined everything that made fnaf fnaf but the idea was a pretty good
Personally I feel like the most important problem with this game is that you have way too much freedom in the game. At first it was straight foward knowing what to do but as the game progresses you are just free to roam around and because of this you dont know where you are supposed to go. When I played this, the hardest part was looking for the items when you dont even know where you are going and the place is literally 4 story building. I became bored at the latter half of the game and the horror factors of the game gets repititive and boring. It would be better if the game restricted our paths or made it easier for us to find rooms or items
@@chainsaw8507 Only reason I had problems finding things was simply cause Im not good at finding stuffs lol. But I have seen some korean streamers having a real hard time coz they couldnt understand english. But yeah the bugs and the security bots were the most annoying part of the game but just didnt talk about it since everyone else did😅
I definitely agree like with the Monty ending. It took me a solid 30 minutes in the golf course only to realize the grub place was the one with the stuff I needed to get to mazercise
wanna add a little annoying thing for the people that look through the comments, when you hide close by the cleaning robots, they get stuck or move suuuuuper slowly, what is kinda annoying. But they can also block the big guys and slow them down as well, what is a good thing
I feel like we didn't get enough clarity in the beginning about the storyline because all of a sudden freddy is helping us avert a security woman with no given reason why
and were given no reason to why the kid climbed inside fazbear. It would have been scary if he accidentally got locked inside after lifghts out but it just feels like the kid is an annoying trouble maker.
Finally! A Five Nights game Im *ACTUALLY* considered buying. I loved Alien Isolation when it came out and I think this is a reasonable way the series should go.
@@Skept1cal_269 that's a very dumb and ignorant way to look at it the guy never once said that they only care about graphics only that it is something to BE AWARE OF also graphics and bugs are a perfect reason to criticize a game not saying a game will be bad only that the guy is perfectly in the right to talk about the weaker aspect of the game
My 6-year-old son is forcing me to play this with him and to be honest I'm kind of enjoying it 😂 I did not expect that since I have not played any of the previous games.
It's also a vastly different game. - If this was the first game, I'd have thought "FNaF" was cool. - But the earliest games are way too basic and repetitive. But that's probably also why it took off.
I feel like I am the only one that was disappointed with this game lol. It just wasn't scary at all. It was a good game, but it wasn't a FNAF game. The gameplay is good and is a unique spin for the series, but everything else is just lacking. The story, animatronics, and atmosphere are just lacking. I am sure there's some secret lore hidden in the game that I didn't find but the main story itself is just uninteresting. I genuinely don't understand if this was even supposed to be a horror game. It seems like they wanted to make a more story driven game instead. I was not scared of anything when I played it. The open world was just tedious at times too. For example that one mission where you go to the docks for LITERALLY NO REASON AT ALL was infuriating. The whole game felt like I was playing that one annoying ass sister location minigame. In all honestly, I just don't think this game was made for me. It was made obviously pandering to one specific side of the fandom, but to be fair the series has been going in that direction for a while now so I am not surprised. Nonetheless, while it wasn't my cup of tea, there are some diamonds in the rough here and I can see it being expanded upon in future games. I just don't think I will personally be buying them anymore. But who knows, now that the fandom chased Scott away we may not even be getting more games
What a shame that vocal minority of virtue signaling Twitter users can ruin something great for everyone else. I wonder if they’ll ever connect their actions with the consequences of them or keep believing they’re actually doing good in the world with their cancel culture.
Only thing for me is the environment, I love the design and everything but if it was darker then I think it would be more scary, and one more thing is the jump scares, they could have definitely made them scarier
@@doomrazer1222 if your kids are getting anxiety from a horror game maybe dont let them play it? you shouldnt change your content because its affecting some people, plus, og fnaf wasnt made for kids, its 12+
so kinda an unpopular opinion but I just wish that security breach was a LOT more scary. And do unique jumpscares like in the previous games and well make more of a horrific screaming sound. Also having the flashlights, LED lights and the occasional screen monitor be a light source for the game (they did a really good job in FNAF VR with that one.) Also more of an explanation as to why Freddy wasn't affected.
Fnaf is heading to a direction of being "more kid friendly" in my opinion. When I watch videos of fnaf sb, I don't get any sort of fear or that one feeling you get when you're expecting something to pop out at you or scare you when I see people play sb. Really think they should improve the jumpscares for the DLC and the overall horror aspect.
For a game with a team of 12 people the gameplay turned out great. I also heard that the game size was 80gb but they had to bring it down to 50gb so that may be a cause of the bugs. The gameplay was packed with various creative different mechanics and characters. At first I thought the arcade setting would bring the scary levels down which isn’t wrong but I also underestimated the contrast it would give the actual scary parts. You don’t know you’re playing a fnaf game once you hit the daycare and from there on they sprinkle around bits that are far scarier and it’s effective. The atheistic also grew on me over time with how gorgeous each part looked. The voice acting and designs were cool. I just had one problem. ----------------------- *Spoilers* My main problem with the game is the endings. They went to first person horror yet they kept the indie story telling style and low effort endings. It’s just silent comic style endings which wouldn’t be all that bad hadn’t you gone through 8+hrs of gameplay to get there. The 2d fnaf’s were easy short games making these endings tolerable but this is an entire game. It also doesn’t explain much of anything, I don’t know everything about the lore but I know enough and yet it still doesn’t answer much. I was expecting there to be an explanation for how Gregory ended up with Freddy to begin with or why is Vanessa disguised as Vanny but they either cut off the endings to make space or they’re trying to cater towards hardcore fnaf fans only.
The PS4 version has a lot of frame rate issues and bugs with the AI getting stuck in place or falling thru the map when u go thru a door to a different section of the map but other than that the game is really good, just really hope there's gonna be more sections like the daycare section when it comes to scare factor
@@chainsaw8507 The game is bad optimized on PC aswell unless you lower settings quite a bit and have a pretty fast system but still fps drops and stutterings, how was your overall experience on which settings?
In my opinion the game is really good but you need to stop playing after one or two hours, and come back later. If you don’t do that you get bored. Also it could be a smaller game or introduced new mechanics more often because you see most of the mechanics on the beggining of the game but when you pass that point is always the same thing. The game should introduce more stuff and also manage the mechanics from the beggining for some of them to appear later. That should make the game perfect. I hope fnaf go back to the old formula or use this formula but less open and smaller.
SPOILERS AHEAD, BEWARE Also, it's all my own opinion, you can share your own opinion too, and all i'? Talking about is focused on the current version of the game. (sorry for typing so much even tho i didn't play the game) So, from what i have *watched* (not played cause i literally can't, no pc, no ps4/ps5, nothing to play or even a way to buy it), the game really isn't that great for a game that took 3 whole years to make First problem that i spotted right away: Bugs, lots and lots of bugs, ranging from little ones like freddy getting stuck somewhere to literal progress breaking ones like what happened to fusion in his playthrough, he upgraded freddy with chica's voicebox and then the game simply wouldn't check the mission as complete and you wouldn't be able to progress, this happened in other parts of the game Second problem i spotted: the lack of things to do, because literally all you can do is roam around the pizzaplex collecting useless items (will talk about that) while trying to progress the story, complete missions and find endings, the only things you can do besides those things is play the princess quest minigames to unlock that vanny ending, you can't interact with the environment, like play an arcade, flush a toilet, talk to some random robot, race in roxy's raceway, play golf on monty's golf or anything like that, even tho the game is an "horror" game, these little details take away all the immersion you have and make the game just another random one in the middle of hundreds Third problem i spotted: useless items, like, come on, you get posters, figures, sodas, candy, plushies but you can't even use them for something? Also, there's the map you get, basically useless, cause it doesn't tell you where you need to go, where you are and what's the name of the places Fourth problem: story progression, it is a mess, first of all, the entire game is set on a single night even tho the franchise's name is FIVE NIGHTS at freddy's, then you just start on freddy's room with no explanation, then you're already wandering around the pizzaplex, even tho you aren't even allowed in there, then after that suddenly you're doing random stuff like getting a camera, or a fazer blaster, then suddenly you need to destroy monty that appeared for like, 5 minutes? Bruh, not even gonna talk about the lack of reasoning behind everything that is happening, like, why is freddy really helping us? Why is vanny there exactly? How the fuck did gregory enter the pizzaplex/inside freddy's chest, *why does vanny only appears in some endings and basically 2 times in the entire game* Fifth and final problem (cause i'm already tired of typing lol): not being able to save after you choose stay in the pizzaplex, seriously, that's just dumb, why wouldn't you be able to save when basically you're "halfway" through the game (the progression is too confusing to know where you are exactly) and need to do 700 other things, like (again) in fusion's playthrough, he had to go through all of the fazer blast section and chica's decomission section without dying with a buggy freddy, buggy missions and a weird story progression? Jeez, that is not fun at all, like, maybe they could've just added a hardcore mode where you can't die once or it's game over, while in the normal mode, you can save anytime you want and can, simple Now, even tho i said all of these things, i liked the game a little bit, there are many aspects in which i praise steelwool, scott and the rest of the team for, like, voice acting is top notch, the graphics are pretty good (even tho you can't really see them since it lags everything when you use the ultra settings), the animatronic and pizzaplex designs are amazing, i really liked the main freddy crew's designs, and the pizzaplex is amazing, and i liked the endings even tho they are pretty much just weird (like, how tf did freddy escape the pizzaplex even tho he's a robot programmed to not leave) With all of that said, the game deserves a 5/10, great concept, great designs but poor execution, i just hope the patches, updates and new stuff they eventually add will compensate the money you spent in the game thinking it would be amazing
I think the two biggest flaws of this game is a lot of bugs and disorienting. It's hard to find your bearings even in a small area and sometimes the level design is confusing and has led to many people missing exits and entrances often replaying sections on accident Because they missed an entrance even with outside guidance. Also a lot of things are not explained enough in the missions and if you don't remember what Freddy said or when he just says nothing you might have no idea where to go or what to do which interrupted emersion. Then I'm also seeing A LOT of bugs, 2 chicas at one point, moondrop where he is not supposed to be, Moondrop getting stuck a lot on the stuff in the daycare, and even characters disappearing in front of the player. Hopefully they get fixed. However this game is really good story wise, graphics wise and game mechanics wise. It's fun and interesting and looks beautiful. The one problem I find with the mechanics which *spoiler* I don't know about the Fazer camera but the Fazer blaster is too powerful. It recharges on its own and easily allows a player to just shoot and run away and get away quickly. Otherwise this game is great and I absolutely adore it.
I’d give this game a strong 5.5/10, and here’s why: When it comes to the new approach Steewool have taken to the FNAF franchise, that unique choice as a whole bumps this game up to a 5/10. And the few endings that had animated scenes bumped that 5 up to a 5.5…But the reason I haven’t given the game the other 4.5 points is because as expected, this new approach to the series is going to take some time to develop and there a quite a bit of problems with the game that are far from unnoticeable. To put it simply this game is the definition of half-baked. The problems I have with them are small, but all of those small things had a big impact on the immersion for me. Bugs with the environment, models, story progression and AI: There were so many times models would glitch through walls slightly, or have random bugs where they’ll start shaking erratically for a few seconds. Sometime’s the gates that were breachable for Freddy would Glitch out if you were too close to them whilst the breaching animation was taking place. The animatronics can sometimes bug out and just slide across the floor while running at you in a frozen position instead of doing their proper running animation. The script of the story can break and end up not saving certain mission’s you have completed, or can replay character dialogue scenes you have already gone through which can cause you to sometimes have to restart from another save in order to put the games story events back in to their designated order. The security bots were so unfair at times, one of the reasons being they could jumpscare you from a distance they shouldnt be able to reach you from. There was one time a security bot randomly just spawned right infront of a youtuber I was watching which caused the bot to of course alert one of the animatronics, and they almost died because it happened so unexpectedly. The fact that the animatronics spawn wherever you are as well whenever you do alert the security bots is so stupid and cheap. I would’ve felt more immersed if they put a more realistic approach on it where the animatronics would rush to your location instead of just teleporting to wherever you were. There were times the animatronic AI wouldn’t be able to get to you if you hid in a certain corner or place on the map, so they would kind of just stand there until they realise that they can’t get to you causing them to just walk away; and that took away the fear factor immensely for me. And Freddy would spawn for you in such awkward spaces which would make you have to stop progressing for a few seconds in order to get him into an accessible spot for when you need him. The jumpscares: I understand this very well couldn’t be helped because you can only get such a big budget for animation, but the jumpscares were so…underwhelming. They should’ve taken more care with them imo to make them scarier, and I get that in the other games they were more or less the same. However, the unexpectedness of those older game jumpscares compensated for the lackluster animations, so there was still a scare factor to them. But with this game being free roam those lackluster animations really don’t work as well because you expect them, and that’s why I think even if they didn’t end up being scary I still believe they could’ve worked harder on them and made them smoother. Conclusion: By no means is this interview negative, I’ve been a fan of the FNAF franchise for years and i’m so delighted to see the series going in such a new, and innovative direction when it comes to the gameplay and the story. But as a genuine fan I feel I always have to be brutally honest with the developers when it comes to my opinion, in order to remind myself, the developers and the community as whole; of how much potential this franchise has to become something even more amazing than it already has become. Overall, I enjoyed watching the game a lot and I’m so thankful and respectful for the work that SteelWool Studios have put into this over the past couple years. Now we just have to strive further for an even better game.
I probably enjoyed this game much more than I should've since I was lucky enough not to encounter most of the problems it had aside from a few bugs and issues with the AI, but those were to be expected. Still I think the games has alot more ups than downs with some of its creative gameplay aspects, stellar voice acting, the music, the cutscenes like I was freaking going nuts over that opening and for a small indie game company they sure made the place big and aesthetically very beautiful. I am not sure why u didn't like the models since I think they looked great and the jumpscares worked when they did genuinely spooking me when I was caught off guard, but they should tweak moon's and definitely Vanessa's jumpscare a bit. Anyway while there's more I could mention like the story and endings I think those are just a matter of perspective. Steelwool after some patching deserves a good holiday break for this gem of a game and I'll be looking forward for the next dlc :) *P.S* I think 5.5/10 is a bit harsh. Can't it be atleast a solid 8?
What I like about this review in particular was the respect. You gave it praise but when talking about it’s downside it wasn’t in a toxic or complain-y like way. I think from the mixed reception it’s got a lot of people have been too hard on it, where as here the faults have been pointed out but followed with things that are good and appreciable.
I feel like this game would be much scarier if Scott Cawthon were leading it because steel wool really helps with the design and the characters looks but what could have helped would be scott experience and knowledge on the franchise and how to make it scarier
Im not hating on the game, I just want to see if people are going through the same thing. Is it me or does the game feel TOO hard, like I enjoy challenging games but this just makes the game feel boring. Because before progressing you have to die at least 3 times to actually progress in the story. To add to that, I feel that there are glitches which are just too dumb. Like im not talking about the texture glitches or frame drops no im talking about bugs with saving and the mechanics of the animatronics. Like I just finished the moondrop section (which took me ages) then I save, after that section i get jumpscared by chica and IT STARTS ME ALL OVER AGAIN. Like bro I dont know if this is just me being bad at the game or are you guys actually experiencing this?
I like the game overall, but when I have to constantly ask my friend “can I get soft-locked here?” Or “is this save safe?” It takes out alot of the fun.
7:48 - Nope, it also saves when you've moved to a next "level" or segment of the game. - So you could basically get through this game without ever saving, but of course it helps if you use save-points in the middle of larger parts of the game. But of course it auto-saves with each big section or it would be obnoxious.
@• ver correct. I think I made it to day 4 a couple times, maybe 5 on the first game. But usually I get to day 3 and shut the doors the whole time and run out of energy. 🙈
I thought the change in formula was a good idea but the thing that made me think it wasn’t gonna be good was the fact that all of the animatronics looked “too” kid friendly and colorful and I thought it wasn’t going to be scary at all
@@jasper200226 I think if you get caught by the guard bots roaming arround, Animatronics will teleport behind you. The crouch mechanics is also in the beginning of the game, They lose you if they lose sight of you. But, I think TJOCR has the best AI when chasing the character even if it doesn't have stealth system.
Biggest flaw is the amount of post-game stuff there is to explore, yet they take the ability to save from you. If the game wasn’t filled with bugs and unfair staff bots it really forces you to perform a glitch that allows you to save in post game
Nobody's saying this so I'll say it. I can't imagine driving to a mega pizzaplex and spend 12 minutes going up escalators and elevators and walk through huge halls and fountains just to order a pepperoni pizza
My 12 year old daughter has been following FNAF for a long time so she asked me to buy this for her last night which I did just haven’t heard back if she’s enjoying it. 🤷🏼♂️
Finally a review that adresses both the pros and cons of a game with constructive criticism, instead of just saying "Ooh I hate the jumpscares and the game looks like its for kids". As a bit of a "diehard fan" of the franchise, I still 100% agree with everything said in this video, even the cons. If you don't like this game, it isn't bad, it's just not for you.
@@vyke9417 if you aren’t going to call it a fnaf game then you obviously haven’t played it for yourself, it has exactly the same tempo and you actually loose something if you get caught, so I would so it’s harder, and also before you so that isn’t much of a challenge then try getting a 100% completion without saving once(aka this games version of 50/20 mode)
ngl I always wanted a fnaf game where we could move more, so I love it, it became one o my favorites, kinda sad that we bug a lot, but it's actually pretty good game. I knewed some people that didn't liked FNaF because it wasn't a fan of jumpscares but enjoyed the game, so not scary jumpscare it wasn't that bad
Truthfully, nothing about the story makes all that much sense, I like playing games to play the game itself, but the story is just as important, no matter how simple it is, but this is kinda how a wattpad writer would write about their detective x robber au of phone guy and purple guy, it just doesn’t make sense. But anyway, I’ll explain three points as to why the story is bad for me: Apparently, Vanessa has access to the faz watch, but she can’t track Gregory down because..? He’s slippery? He’s just sneaky? It doesn’t make sense, and it also doesn’t make sense as to why she doesn’t know it’s Freddy whose helping Gregory, he says his name in the beginning when he gives the faz watch to him “hi Gregory, it’s me Freddy!” And when he rushes to the medical area, we don’t get an answer as to why he does that (but I could have just missed the explanation for why he did that) Another one is how Freddy apparently cares for his friends and doesn’t want to see them/hurt them, but when he sees them all mangled and literally smashed to bits, he doesn’t care, not even batting an eye, like, I know that they could be repaired, but if we were just shown a bit more empathy like he shows for Gregory, I could care for Freddy some more. And one last thing I’m going to mention is how we don’t get much insight to the other animatronics personality and lives; why was Montgomery mad in the beginning? Why does Chica eat trash? Why is Roxy self-absorbed? Even a simple explanation in the game like “they’re like that because their programmers made them like that” would make some good explanation. If your going to play the game, I recommend that you just play it for the game itself (which I guess steel wool intended to do in the beginning), not the story
I Didn't liked the game as much as I was hoping for. Don't get me wrong, the game is far from being bad, I overall do think it's a good instalment to the franchise ( the visuals are beautiful, the esthetics of the pizzaplex are incredibly, voice acting is fenomenal, and the free roam aspect gives that sence of freedom never seen before in any fnaf game) but the game doesn't have any lore reveals and the gameplay can be very laggy at times (endings are kinda disappointing for me, but some of them I find really cool). Overall I liked the game but it's not my favourite
I agree bro but mines a bit different, the game is very beautiful and fun however there are a lot of bugs which will be fixed don’t worry, I expected the game to be more adventurous not like a campaign game don’t hate me but it’s my expectation, the game isn’t what the trailers showed us tbh and afton nor vanny is barely even seen throughout the game, I’ve played the game a bit now and I’ve only seen vanny like 3 times even if she’s the main villain of the game. Everyone don’t hate on my comment I’m just giving my expectation this game is very good far from bad and I do enjoy the game.
The bugs are aggressive (sometimes if feels like you're fighting the game more than you're fighting the NPCs), but the environment is rich and fully-realized. The dialogue and voice acting are really effective too; you might actually find yourself getting attached to some of the characters, particularly Freddy.
“Little rough around the edges”?? A LITTLE?! It’s almost downright unplayable on PS4. As a person that owns it on PS4, I HIGHLY recommend other people wait until they actually fix the horrendous graphics and various bugs first
I actually didn't enjoy security breach as a long time fan of FNAF, I think it got way to kid friendly and took the bright colors way too far, there's a difference between using brighter colors to your advantage, and thinking your doing so and unfortunately security breach took the ladder, I think there were 4 moments in the entire, super long game, where I was really scared, they did basically the opposite of FNAF 4, they made almost every character completely not scary, and that's where it lowered for me, it also really lacked in lore for me personally, and all in all left my personal expectations unmet, I'm so sad to say this but this is my least favorite FNAF game
@@HajimariKarasu I do realize that, but they toys still have an element of horror, the hollow eyes, chicas lost beak, how soulless they act, I almost think that by making the glam rocks so personalized, they took away horror ya know?
There was secret lore like there was a room with full of chairs and there was one chair with lolipop on the ground in front of it. There was also the hole in the basement. welp, Pretty much sure Game theorist will uncover some things that's so hidden. Like why did Freddy help us.
Felt like they tried too much on this. Not only that, bit they really seemed to put all the effort, time and budjet only on the map. The older original games made things creepy and unsettling by using very little things. I mean, they didn't even move! Yet it was great. Honestly, the most recent FNaF games (especially this one), just felt like it was targeted towards furries. The originals felt fun, just made by Scott for himself. No pressure or pushing the games into a certain community. Just an indie creator making a games because it was fun.
The 4 top reasons I’m not getting the game is chica non stop teleporting, ai is dumb as a box of rocks, lack of decent story, and the multiple ways you can get softlocked.
Currently watching 8 bit Ryan's playthrough and so far the game looks amazing, 10/10. I was a bit skeptical on the free roam and the looks but it turned out better than expected!
His playthrough will take too long IMHO. We won't see the end until end of Next week at that pace. FusionZGamer has the whole playthrough, but I dislike his voice. There's an amazing Livestream that has half now (7 hours) already and is playing the rest later tonight and his channel name is: CavemanFilms
@@MandalorianMCOC yeah, I don't mind fusion but only when it comes to the fan games, as for the livestream, I'll check it out. Thanks for the recommendation.
No offense to steel wool, i love the game, but the whole "afton/glitchtrap" thing wasn't touched on at all. I was waiting for some more lore, but eh. It's okay i guess.
i do think they could've delayed the game release a bit more because some parts still look wip to me, the cameras have just mobile textures and some parts could use some work in the lightning
@@blueberrylol2387 Does the game propose to be bugged? Because in several parts of the game you can traverse textures of invisible objects Don't make excuses
It seems to me they started on the world and character design first but gameplay last and ran out of time for it. like they wanted to have the animatronics almost fully simulated in terms of wandering and responding but they're so broken they threw in the random security bots everywhere to compensate.
Just something I realized about Security Breach, not a single person has made a review on it, haven't seen a single one As if nobody wants to talk about its many apperent flaws? I mean the game is buggy, and people online will rip extensively on GT Trilogy and Cyberpunk2077 for being just as But nothing, maybe cuz it just came out? But reviews are notorious for coming out earlier than they should
I always enjoy it when Falcon does these more than Jake. I'm not saying that as "Oh Jake sucks" but Falcon is way better at being critical and explains his view way better. Jake is just so nice that I think it's hard for him half the time. XD
I just hope fnaf doesn't fall off 😞 The 80% of the community hates it, and the rest loves it, can we pls just be atleast thankful or more kind with are words, and look bright for the bug fixes and the dlc that probably will tell more 🙁
Word of warning for something he didn't mention. The vast majority of the games story is VERY obviously missing and signs point to both it and a lot of features being cut last minute. Seriously if you were expecting the rabbit girl or springtrap to have any real kind of presence in the game at all you're going to be disappointed. Even Vanessa barely does anything. What little story there is, is directly tied to the events of help wanted and there is zero explanation for anything that goes on beyond that
Just finished playing the game and completed all the endings, and i gotta say the way they marketed Vanny and the return of William afton you would think they would get more screentime and not at all they actually get the least screentime if im not wrong
That's one of my problems with the game's story. Vanny/Vanessa barely get that much screen time despite them seeming like a vital part of the story. The most characterization you can get from them is through the CD recordings, which I guess is cool but still would've preferred being able to have more interactions with them.
after watching a couple different people play this game i think that i would give this game maybe a 7/10/7.5/10 or 6.5/10. why? well because, the game is such a leap from the og fnaf gameplay and i absolutely support and love it, i think that steelwool did an amazing job for this game, it has so much potential to be great and i love it, i want to see others continue to play it as well, but that being said. why did i give it like a 7/10? well.... its because that, despite everything i said and how much i love fnaf... the game itself, is kinda meh. its like outlast or whatever but, toned down or something, i saw a comment here that described the game perfectly; which was that the game was "half-baked" they go into more explanation of what they mean but i wont cuz that would take a bit long. but the game itself is alright, but it gets a bit repetitve and it strays a bit TOO far from fnaf, and the graphics are pretty inconstant at times and it doesnt really look nice. like yea i get that its free roam and they wanted to try something different from the typical sit and survive game that fnaf is, but it doesnt really.... have it, cuz thats what fnaf is, fnaf is a sit and survive game and while fnaf sb has it, it doesnt pay much attention to it? like you dont really stay long in the offices and you dont have to do much tbh, heck, the cameras are actually kinda useless and its crazy to think about cuz its a fnaf game, why would cameras be useless in a fnaf game of all games? that just seems weird. but enough of that, what i wanted to talk about was the issues with the game and how steelwool couldve done better. the game's optimization is horrible, like, people are running the game on low with an rtx 3090ti, like what?! thats so ridiculous, how??? the game is also very buggy, while some people may not experience them, other may and its not very pleasant. i heard on a stream that steelwool considered this game their baby and they put so much effort into it, and i applaud them. a team of 12 PEOPLE made this? that is incredible, but i feel like they were so driven by their passion and love for fnaf that they forgot to make the game.... a game.... a playable, and fun game. they shouldve spent more time on this game then to release it like this, they shouldve made the game a bit more smaller and focused on making a good horror free roam fnaf game instead of a love letter. but luckily most bugs and issues will be fixed very soon so it wont be this bad forever. but they couldve done better. but im hoping they take the criticism from us all and make the next games and possible dlc's for SB way better than this. i feel like im missing something and that i couldve and needed to mention other important things here but oh well :P overall, dont buy this game as of right now (making this comment) wait until its all fixed and polished (even tho it shouldve been like this in the first place) and THEN buy it for yourself, thats all i want to say, have a nice day! :D thx for reading this, if you even decide to. FUN FACT: this is steelwool's first free roam open world fnaf game, they were also pretty rushed to make it and crunched :/ so i guess i can see why the game is like this but whatever.
I wasn't going to buy this but I am now. I played old school five nights back in the day and it was great, but got old after a while. This looks miles ahead of what I was expecting.
I´d say it goes way more after Alien Isolation then any Amnesia Game Amnesia rarely ever makes you repeat sequences when you die or alternatively prepares a different scenario for the player at certain spots but I am glad that the FNAF games seemingly evolved from just being stuck in a room avoiding static Robots coming at you
The bugs kinda ruined the gameplay enjoyment. They made their quest objectives so difficult to follow. If they didn't want player to do something unexpected in quests, they should've hidden interactions from other quests until they get to it, and lock future quests until certain events had been made. Instead they rushed this game, chasers duplicating, certain passes not working at all etc. It's a shame. A true shame.
True story..I was working at one of those showbiz pizza type places, decades ago and we were working on the animatronic bears. It was all compressed air that ran it all. The darn curtains opened with the main bear characters FACE off. She was a mouse i think. OMG there were kids in the room that started screaming and crying. Not good! Yeah felt bad about that. This game always reminds me of that.
I’m ready many of these comments, and a lot of them start out with “the only little issue I have”, these people clearly haven’t played the game very much. I’m several hours in and me and my bf have encountered a million and one issues and just way more than I can say here. This game was not worth fucking $40
Most people are blinded by the hype and the ""amazing lore"", the game looks too bad to being a next gen release, and the environment is huge but not in a good way, the developers probably thought that the bigger the better, they went too crazy with their idea
@@chainsaw8507 happy for you. Do you play on pc? I play on pS5 and currently 2 of the endings freeze on me halfway through every single time, 1 of them glitches out and I’m unable to do, and the true ending is completely unattainable to all console players as the PQ games don’t work for anyone on console. I think im obviously disappointed in this game coming out of Fnaf…. 😞
As a horror fan this game looks sick as hell. I pretty much only play my Switch these days so if Security Breach ever gets ported I'll probably play it then.
I agree with every point except the save stations, yes it's annoying but that's always just been what Fnaf was in the past too, you die, you start all over again, but the Staff bots are just a big mess
Jump scares are such a low hanging fruit, good to know they aren't bothering to change the formula at all. Make something that makes me fear for my characters safety without blowing out my eardrums with random screeches and catching me off guard to get my heartrate up. If they make an actually scary game, maybe the series would attract more than eight year old children. Also. ANIMATRONICS DO NOT MOVE LIKE THAT. HOW HARD IS IT TO STAY ACCURATE FOR YOUR MAIN ANTAGONISTS. Ffs the origins don't matter anymore, it's all about what sells now.
I like to believe that Sister Location will always be the best "Free Roaming" FNaF Game to ever exist. This isn't FNaF. It's like a Cheesy Fan Game, except that, Fan Games have become Ridiculously Great over the Years. This would be great as a Smartphone Game, but not even close as a Main Entry. As a Stealth Game, I'd give it 7/10. Great Visuals, Good Animation, Okayish AI, and Colourful Ambience. But as a FNaF Game, I'd give it 3/10. This makes FNaF 3 look like a fricking Masterpiece.

Yea was hoping for something like the Alien in Alien : Isolation
That sounds a lot better, but in practice that would make the game extremely easy. You would be able to hide and instantly escape any danger.
@@frogballoon you wanna know how they could make it hard without being cheap. Give them their OWN personal way of moving and attacking. Then when they get to their second form, have them have to change tactics to compensate for losing parts. You could have them come out of a vent, from a door, out of elevators.
I dont know if that would make it harder or easier to run straight through the security bots.
@@whexgamer3780 bruh, alien isolation always teleports the alien near your location :v
I'm honestly fine with them not having constant pathing it's just they move way too fast and it's hard to get around them
The paths are fine it’s the weird hitbox that makes it annoying.
@@johnnycripplestar5167 I 100% agree with you. Also some view effects wouldn't hurt

Where were the shocking and climactic endings that had interesting lore implications?
it lost its soul
Indeed it did sadly this isnt a scott game anymore just another generic game witch is sad because i was a fan since game 1 and ive been a fan since and its sad seeing it get destroyed
There are some minigames hidden throughout the establishment. I think they’re called Princess Quest
I think they just tried to expand the formula a lot for this one. Obviously when you stretch things out this much it will lose a lot of the original. Scott Cawthon pretty much said he finished those games after Custom Night and was open to new ideas and other companies.

I fully agree with you. The map design is amazing but very complex to freeroam. It should have a GPS system it guides you to objective.
wanna add a little annoying thing for the people that look through the comments, when you hide close by the cleaning robots, they get stuck or move suuuuuper slowly, what is kinda annoying.

@𝙰𝚛𝚒𝚏𝚞𝚖𝚒 it’s controversial though I personally like it even though the bugs can be annoying

-----------------------
*Spoilers* My main problem with the game is the endings.

Also it could be a smaller game or introduced new mechanics more often because you see most of the mechanics on the beggining of the game but when you pass that point is always the same thing. The game should introduce more stuff and also manage the mechanics from the beggining for some of them to appear later. That should make the game perfect. SPOILERS AHEAD, BEWARE
Also, it's all my own opinion, you can share your own opinion too, and all i'? Talking about is focused on the current version of the game. (sorry for typing so much even tho i didn't play the game)
So, from what i have *watched* (not played cause i literally can't, no pc, no ps4/ps5, nothing to play or even a way to buy it), the game really isn't that great for a game that took 3 whole years to make
First problem that i spotted right away: Bugs, lots and lots of bugs, ranging from little ones like freddy getting stuck somewhere to literal progress breaking ones like what happened to fusion in his playthrough, he upgraded freddy with chica's voicebox and then the game simply wouldn't check the mission as complete and you wouldn't be able to progress, this happened in other parts of the game
Second problem i spotted: the lack of things to do, because literally all you can do is roam around the pizzaplex collecting useless items (will talk about that) while trying to progress the story, complete missions and find endings, the only things you can do besides those things is play the princess quest minigames to unlock that vanny ending, you can't interact with the environment, like play an arcade, flush a toilet, talk to some random robot, race in roxy's raceway, play golf on monty's golf or anything like that, even tho the game is an "horror" game, these little details take away all the immersion you have and make the game just another random one in the middle of hundreds
Third problem i spotted: useless items, like, come on, you get posters, figures, sodas, candy, plushies but you can't even use them for something? Also, there's the map you get, basically useless, cause it doesn't tell you where you need to go, where you are and what's the name of the places
Fourth problem: story progression, it is a mess, first of all, the entire game is set on a single night even tho the franchise's name is FIVE NIGHTS at freddy's, then you just start on freddy's room with no explanation, then you're already wandering around the pizzaplex, even tho you aren't even allowed in there, then after that suddenly you're doing random stuff like getting a camera, or a fazer blaster, then suddenly you need to destroy monty that appeared for like, 5 minutes? Bruh, not even gonna talk about the lack of reasoning behind everything that is happening, like, why is freddy really helping us? Why is vanny there exactly? How the fuck did gregory enter the pizzaplex/inside freddy's chest, *why does vanny only appears in some endings and basically 2 times in the entire game*
Fifth and final problem (cause i'm already tired of typing lol): not being able to save after you choose stay in the pizzaplex, seriously, that's just dumb, why wouldn't you be able to save when basically you're "halfway" through the game (the progression is too confusing to know where you are exactly) and need to do 700 other things, like (again) in fusion's playthrough, he had to go through all of the fazer blast section and chica's decomission section without dying with a buggy freddy, buggy missions and a weird story progression? Jeez, that is not fun at all, like, maybe they could've just added a hardcore mode where you can't die once or it's game over, while in the normal mode, you can save anytime you want and can, simple
Now, even tho i said all of these things, i liked the game a little bit, there are many aspects in which i praise steelwool, scott and the rest of the team for, like, voice acting is top notch, the graphics are pretty good (even tho you can't really see them since it lags everything when you use the ultra settings), the animatronic and pizzaplex designs are amazing, i really liked the main freddy crew's designs, and the pizzaplex is amazing, and i liked the endings even tho they are pretty much just weird (like, how tf did freddy escape the pizzaplex even tho he's a robot programmed to not leave)
With all of that said, the game deserves a 5/10, great concept, great designs but poor execution, i just hope the patches, updates and new stuff they eventually add will compensate the money you spent in the game thinking it would be amazing
At first, I thought Falcon does the mispronouncing words/names as a gag. Now, I'm worried he's had a stroke or something.
Freddy's new outlook. "Humans are friends, not food."
I can honestly say I have never heard Fazbear Pronounced in any such way
Nice is your profile pic Specter? Cause if it is you're awesome 😁
Ape Escape was the first videogame I ever played.... the memories 🤤
I’d give this game a strong 5.5/10, and here’s why:
When it comes to the new approach Steewool have taken to the FNAF franchise, that unique choice as a whole bumps this game up to a 5/10.
Nobody read this lmao
@@alexidkbru I just enjoy expressing my thoughts my man, no one needs to read it :)
@@Heartfia I read all that, and I completely agree
Steelwool after some patching deserves a good holiday break for this gem of a game and I'll be looking forward for the next dlc :)
*P.S* I think 5.5/10 is a bit harsh. Can't it be atleast a solid 8?
@@alexidkbru Does that...make me a nobody? :(
What I like about this review in particular was the respect. You gave it praise but when talking about it’s downside it wasn’t in a toxic or complain-y like way. I think from the mixed reception it’s got a lot of people have been too hard on it, where as here the faults have been pointed out but followed with things that are good and appreciable.
I can't agree more.
I feel like this game would be much scarier if Scott Cawthon were leading it because steel wool really helps with the design and the characters looks but what could have helped would be scott experience and knowledge on the franchise and how to make it scarier
Scott did lead it for the most part, and he was still there in the background after his retirement
Cancel culture ruins everything. What useless virtue signaling.
I love this game but the daycare part was a pain, took me several tries to turn on all 5 generators
OMG! Literally have been struggling so much to beat that as well.
thats the point!
I memorized all the locations. there is 2 on the floor (under the playplace) 2 in the right playplace and 1 in the left playplace
The key is to find all the generators when the lights are on and memorize a route to get them all instantly thats what i did ahahaha

Soft locked?

LMFAOOOO Why did you say "security robots" like that?? 😂😂😂
7:48 - Nope, it also saves when you've moved to a next "level" or segment of the game. - So you could basically get through this game without ever saving, but of course it helps if you use save-points in the middle of larger parts of the game. But of course it auto-saves with each big section or it would be obnoxious.
I love that they added voices to the animatronics! It gives them more life!

This is not an insult to the look or design This looks like a Gary mod mode
I thought the change in formula was a good idea but the thing that made me think it wasn’t gonna be good was the fact that all of the animatronics looked “too” kid friendly and colorful and I thought it wasn’t going to be scary at all
If someone told me 5 years ago that Five Nights at Freddy's would have a better stealth system than Assassin's Creed, I would punch them in the face.
They'd be wrong this game has trash stealth. The animatronics teleport behind you and they loose you so easy if you just crouch behind things

Roxy: "Officer it wasn't me"
ngl I always wanted a fnaf game where we could move more, so I love it, it became one o my favorites, kinda sad that we bug a lot, but it's actually pretty good game.
But anyway, I’ll explain three points as to why the story is bad for me:
Apparently, Vanessa has access to the faz watch, but she can’t track Gregory down because..? He’s slippery? He’s just sneaky? It doesn’t make sense, and it also doesn’t make sense as to why she doesn’t know it’s Freddy whose helping Gregory, he says his name in the beginning when he gives the faz watch to him “hi Gregory, it’s me Freddy!” And when he rushes to the medical area, we don’t get an answer as to why he does that (but I could have just missed the explanation for why he did that)
Another one is how Freddy apparently cares for his friends and doesn’t want to see them/hurt them, but when he sees them all mangled and literally smashed to bits, he doesn’t care, not even batting an eye, like, I know that they could be repaired, but if we were just shown a bit more empathy like he shows for Gregory, I could care for Freddy some more.
Doesnt have lore reveals? You litteraly go to the fnaf 6 pizzeria at the end. Also theres an ending where you go to Aftons house.

I wanna see a dlc of this game where you're a thief robbing the pizzaplex.
“Little rough around the edges”?? A LITTLE?! It’s almost downright unplayable on PS4. As a person that owns it on PS4, I HIGHLY recommend other people wait until they actually fix the horrendous graphics and various bugs first
I played it on a PS4 on launch, and it ran just fine for me.
I think they shouldve made the scenery darker tbh it is a cool art style but would of def been more scarier-ps gotta see Beeleezy play this lmaoo
You do realise toy fnaf is literally exactly the same idea kid friendly but i get your point

The most characterization you can get from them is through the CD recordings, which I guess is cool but still would've preferred being able to have more interactions with them.
after watching a couple different people play this game i think that i would give this game maybe a 7/10/7.5/10 or 6.5/10. why? well because, the game is such a leap from the og fnaf gameplay and i absolutely support and love it, i think that steelwool did an amazing job for this game, it has so much potential to be great and i love it, i want to see others continue to play it as well, but that being said. why did i give it like a 7/10? well.... its because that, despite everything i said and how much i love fnaf... the game itself, is kinda meh.
its like outlast or whatever but, toned down or something, i saw a comment here that described the game perfectly; which was that the game was "half-baked" they go into more explanation of what they mean but i wont cuz that would take a bit long. but the game itself is alright, but it gets a bit repetitve and it strays a bit TOO far from fnaf, and the graphics are pretty inconstant at times and it doesnt really look nice.
like yea i get that its free roam and they wanted to try something different from the typical sit and survive game that fnaf is, but it doesnt really.... have it, cuz thats what fnaf is, fnaf is a sit and survive game and while fnaf sb has it, it doesnt pay much attention to it? like you dont really stay long in the offices and you dont have to do much tbh, heck, the cameras are actually kinda useless and its crazy to think about cuz its a fnaf game, why would cameras be useless in a fnaf game of all games? that just seems weird. but enough of that, what i wanted to talk about was the issues with the game and how steelwool couldve done better. the game's optimization is horrible, like, people are running the game on low with an rtx 3090ti, like what?! thats so ridiculous, how???
the game is also very buggy, while some people may not experience them, other may and its not very pleasant. i heard on a stream that steelwool considered this game their baby and they put so much effort into it, and i applaud them. a team of 12 PEOPLE made this? that is incredible, but i feel like they were so driven by their passion and love for fnaf that they forgot to make the game.... a game.... a playable, and fun game. they shouldve spent more time on this game then to release it like this, they shouldve made the game a bit more smaller and focused on making a good horror free roam fnaf game instead of a love letter.
but luckily most bugs and issues will be fixed very soon so it wont be this bad forever. but they couldve done better. but im hoping they take the criticism from us all and make the next games and possible dlc's for SB way better than this. i feel like im missing something and that i couldve and needed to mention other important things here but oh well :P
overall, dont buy this game as of right now (making this comment) wait until its all fixed and polished (even tho it shouldve been like this in the first place) and THEN buy it for yourself, thats all i want to say, have a nice day! :D thx for reading this, if you even decide to. I´d say it goes way more after Alien Isolation then any Amnesia Game
Amnesia rarely ever makes you repeat sequences when you die or alternatively prepares a different scenario for the player at certain spots

Most important flaw is how it doesn’t let you save after six pm.

I think the thing the game needs the most is an Icon that shows you what you need to do on the map! I spend 1 hour looking for ONE present!
