Thank you for talking about those of us with chronic illnesses 🙌 I have been suffering from long term health issues since I caught glandular fever in 2010, and it too makes me so sad to see many people getting long COVID. It’s also been a tough time for those of us with chronic illnesses as we are at risk of relapse if we catch COVID, meaning we have still been so isolated since everything opened up and we suffer mentally because of it. So it means so much to see someone acknowledge it ❤️ I’ve been loving your vlogs because they are so chilled and it’s like catching up with a friend!
I'm really sorry to hear that you're doing through this. I've been reading lots about chronic illness since the start of the pandemic and trying to learn more about them. I'm grateful for your kind words about my videos and just know that I appreciate you being here a whole lot! Sending you lots of love ❤
Thanks for remembering all of us with chronic illnesses, I’ve been suffering from chronic pain and all the fatigue and brain fog that goes along with it. It is easy to feel forget when leaving the house takes so much energy. I feel so incredibly sad for all the people who have got/will get long Covid, I’ve thankfully avoided so far but I’m really scary cos catching Covid will likely cause me a huge amount of pain and damage.
glad you're feeling better and really enjoyed this vlog. Caught covid a couple of weeks ago (during my birthday unfortunately) and thought I would have time to catch up reading but couldn't do anything except watching tv/youtube videos and felt like my brain was just not working at all. I fortunately don't have long covid but really sad for everyone who has it now and so incredibly grateful for my vaccines. sending love
So glad you’re feeling much better, I currently have Covid (my brother caught it from work) and it’s been quite hard 😷. I appreciate you sending strength and talking about those with illnesses who need to rest for a number of reasons, that never goes unnoticed. This vlog as always was so lovely to watch 🤍
gosh again I can't explain how much i love your videos!!! I also wanted to say that I got rid of all my social media cos that stuff wasn't good for the soul, kinda a 48hr off line extension ahah, and your channel has been an amazing way to still find publications/artists/intersectional female orientated goodness, which was the bit i liked about social media. So thank you again, queen.
Loved this video, thank you for sharing your experience!! Have had the good luck of dodging COVID so far (touch wood!!) but really feeling for everyone with long COVID. I'm a singer so I know how tough those symptoms could be! Glad you and Max have made a recovery! Excited for your book update, always love your recs! Sending you love :))
oh my gosh it was me that recommended Jessica Defino (in your last video comments i think??) and it makes me beyond happy that you have found her as amazing as I do 🧡🧡 all my love Venetia, you are utter starlight ✨✨
p.s. i'm trying to be be more conscious about the content I consume and I am so grateful that I have the two of you whose content I can enjoy without the urge to *add to basket*
So glad to see you’re feeling better! Totally gonna try out these friendship bracelets with my 5 year old niece visiting from abroad 🤩 a matching bracelet will help me feel less sad when she heads back home Thursday 😭
Ahh I am so happy, I think I suggested Jess Defino for your podcast!! (Maybe someone else also suggested her Substack though which is SO great. I adore her writing style). I definitely see so much synergy there 😊 I also really appreciate that she has highlighted how much certain trends such as the focus on hyperpigmentation in beauty has so many encoded racist messages. The trend around constantly brightening the skin is really not that innocuous :(
Glad you’re feeling better! I’m currently feeling ill and said something remarkably similar to my husband last night: “You know there’s something wrong with me because I haven’t had a coffee for a few days, and the idea of a coffee kinda grosses me out.” Preposterous! 😂
I love that you are collaborating with Female Invest, Venetia! A lot of my friends have recommended them to me and I love that they are a Copenhagen based company, which is where I live. 😊 Also very happy you are feeling better! 🤩 Since you enjoy creative & crafty activities, have you ever thought of learning how to knit?
Anna! Hello! yay, I'm so happy to hear that. They've be so great to work with. I have watched a few more webinars since creating this video and learning so much. I used to knit as a little girl! Should I take it up again? x
@@VenetiaLaManna_ well, it's good for practicing patience and resilience (which is a nice way to say that it can take a while to finish a project and it can be frustrating when you make a mistake 🥲), but it's teaching me to be in a 'mindful mindset' towards clothes and it's the same type of meditative activity as making a friendship bracelet.
So glad you are feeling better Venetia. I am actually one that has been having long COVID symptoms and it has not been fun. So great to see you again though 😁
I am so sorry to hear that. Wishing you the speediest of speedy recoveries (hopefully some new research and medication will be out ASAP to help you recover!!) x
Covid clip serving a strong John Snow. Haha! I got Covid last week in the States for the first time. Triple vaxxed as well. Total surprise. I’m humbled. Glad you’re feeling better. I’m on the mend as well but working through some lingering fatigue. Sending love!
Thank you so much for the mention of Jessica DeFinos work, this is very interesting. I am in training to be a dermatologist and also trying my best to be conscious about the environment. When I was a teen I regularly bought creams, masks, ... with every year of training I am actually convinced you need basically nothing but Spf and a cleanser, most of the other stuff is mainly marketing.
Glad you're out the other side now! I'm also just recovering from a second round of covid 🙃. Luckily wasn't as bad as last year (one day I couldn't walk from body aches), but yeah, still sucked! You looked remarkably fresh for someone with covid, by the way! Hope that's us free for at least a year, but hopefully moooore!
Hi Venetia! Just wanted to flag that for the last couple of your videos, the timing of the captions seems to be off. The captions appear much sooner than they're supposed to. Just letting you know! Lots of love x
Thanks for speaking up for us chronically ill folks! Hope the post-viral fatigue has receeded. It's amazing how many people think vaccines stop you from catching the vid. Please wear masks gang, you do not want this.
I'm also recovering from a second bout of covid.....after 3 vaccines! Glad you're on the mend and can now drink coffee out of your lovely new mug! You might be interested in checking out Sarah Wilson's This One Wild and Precious Life. X
Oh I am so glad to hear you are on the mend my love! I alsoo got COVID but I was completely asymptomatic (which I am of course so beyond grateful for) but I did nottt enjoy the whole isolation process at all! I am such a people person and as a self-employed business, it was totally not ideal to have had to cancel all work I had booked just last minute! Lost lots of money because of that and hate letting people down but I guess it was out of my control anyway - had to isolate for the benefit of society! Since clearly there are so many vulnerable that I couldn't have justified going out, despite there being not a single thing wrong with me! So yes it was frustrating but survived to tell the tale! And am fortunate that I didn't suffer whatsoever! The whole Kirsty Alsopp thing about avocadoes made me laugh since I actually NEVERRR eat them and uncommon vegan opinion is that i DETEST avocadoes - they are literally mouldy feet I CANNNNOTTTT!! The broad bean smash sounds divine however!! Cannot believe those hot cross buns either and holy hell I don't think I've ever seen some look as perfect in my life! Shall look forward to the bumper book update lovely xxx
