Wow. I had that issue of white dwarf when I was like 14... I remember that bald guy eating a hotdog... And tale of four gamers was the coolest thing in the mag for me! Whoa. Memory lane.
It’s always the *projector slide changing* noise that does it for me. It’s just great, haven’t even finished the video and it’s just something i enjoy Thanks Dana!
This box was my introduction to warhammer. I still have all these minis painted from when I first started. I’m so excited for this video, I am considering repainting all of my empire stuff now. Thank you for making this ❤
Non-standard "human" soldiers are always a treat. I've been toying with the idea of an AoS Cities of Sigmar (Freeguild) army that's either painted like ghosts, or painted to look like statues come to life (and paired up with a Sorceress and some Daughters of Khaine models, so it's like they're people turned to stone and then animated).
Fantastic video idea, Dana! Very much looking forward to all of these projects. Thank you very much for all the work you put in to these videos. It really shows.
I'm relatively new to tabletop games (started with 40k in 2018), but this makes me nostalgic for a game I've never even played. I might be getting another bookshelf soon though, maybe I should get into fantasy...
Wonderful ! Definitely quick, certainly dirty ( verging on the grubby) and totally awesome! That's a very effective method of painting an army. Amazing how the eye seems to fill in any missing details leaving you free to turn them out so fast. Thanks for the video!
Brilliant conversions and theme, and your speed-painting is so gorgeous it looks as effective as slow-painting. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the rest of your army turns-out.
This is a really cool concept for an army and going beyond the basics and adding those details (especially the metal) really brought the paintjob to a higher standard. Personally I would have gone with a little less foilage on the commander's shield but to each their own :) Good work!
Okay Dana, you did it. Inspired me to print and paint my first full army. Don't know for what game, but there are gonna be a whole lot of Dwarf Lads and Lasses to paint soon.
Love all the oldhammer content in the world right now, recently started a 5th edition fantasy nostalgia quest to collect 1500pts of every fantasy army.
@@trisbane4086 I now have 2000pt of every army except chaos dwarves, my current project is to get a classic metal doomwheel and screaming bell for my skaven
Thanks so so much for the Link to the Donation, Love your painting and ideas, your style is awesome, and inspiring, thanks also for being, well you! (Canadian Girls ROCK!!)
I can't quite think what this specifically reminds me of, but I'm getting some classic 80's fantasy movie vibes from these models. They're like ancient warriors summoned to battle once again. I'm really enjoying your take on this project, very cool.
Amazing art as always. Love how much creativity and imaginitive design you bring to your painting. It's super inspiring and makes me want to get back into the hobby everytime i see it. I am super excited for this 6 warlords project and will be checking out all the channels involved.
Love love love this! I've got a 6th Ed High Elf army on the go at the moment using the 4th and 5th models, alongside some other projects, and I'm going to treat myself to the 6th Ed core set soon as it's something I always wanted as a kid when I got into the hobby but never had.
They look great! I love the green bases and the vegetables. And I love that yellow ochre color too. I just haven't really figured out what to do with it yet...
Feels like there are a lot of cool rank and file games out there right now like Age of Fantasy, Kings of War, Conquest: LAoK, Game of Thrones and probably more. Any reason those won't do?
This is the box that started me on my wargaming journey back in the day. Interesting take on these classic models. I can't quite tell if they are human, fey or undead.
Goblin green FTW. SquareBaseMay is great timing, I'll have a 2500pt Chaos Undivided army completed later this month. I now own 8 armies over 2000pts, my largest are Skaven at about 5000pts but I've been collecting those for nearly 20 years… the long-term goal is to collect every race from 6th Ed!
Ohh Awesome vid! Really wanna start up again but time is a birch! And finally I found out what edition I have boxed and dusting away in my closet, until the day I get around to get rid of it!
Really interesting to watch. I’m actually building Tomb Kings right now. The only thing I need to buy for my army is a Liche Priest. So far I’ve painted one horse, one chariot, a unit of ten spear warriors and five bowmen. It’s coming along slowly, but surely 😊
I feel a little bad giving you a like, there is more to life than the gallantry and pageantry (and peasantry with their vulgar little bows) of the Bretonnians - The Dark Elves are damn cool, subtle, deceptive, when not riding giant lizards into battle, and Dwarves have a really nice style to them too, bugger magic, lets just engineer flying contraptions and hit things hard. (the first two armies I really got into to, I don't really think any of the 6th edition races are universally dull either in lore or models) But there is something nice about knowing my French inspired knights are going to inevitably get slaughtered by a combination of my terrible rolling and the one guy I know who still plays excellent luck with die, but with style, honour and heavy cavalry that doesn't need a stupidity check.
I am checking out that link btw! Try and stop me. Coz these are some seriously awesome models/minis. Oh and I like what you did there...... with the whole "Howel City," thing! 😁Stay safe folks ✊✊😉🖖
It is so cool seeing you working on this old models ^^ 6th Edition warhammer holds a very special place in my heart and I even started again playing it with one of my friends, this year. I know that you don't play that much, as you are more of a hobbyist, but maaaaybe give it a try? 6th Edition had its issues, but it was pretty balanced, as far as the old Warhammer Fantasy stuff goes.
I'd agree, no tabletop game is without the ability to find broken and over powered builds/armies for some situations. But there is in 6th always an element of rock, paper, scissors, so being suberb against this style of army just gets you massacred by others. Definitely some more broken options out there, it isn't perfect, but its still the best playing game of its type I have yet found - The 40K/AoS etc skirmish style battles just are not the same (though I don't get to play half as often as I'd like).
6th and 8th were my favorite editions of Warhammer Fantasy. I think 6th was a bit more balanced but I love the spectacle of 8th edition battles, with the bigger unit sizes and all.
Where do you pickup your foliage you used for the models? I've been struggling to find good foliage to use for some zombie/skeleton swamp build I want to do.
I love to see these models, I started with thenesition before this one and still have all the models and white dwarves , and if course newer armies..cuz it's a addiction
@@youtubevanced4900 This was the days when you'd go to the store, they'd give you a free model and you brought it back the next week for the contest. I believe the release of 6th Ed was the first one. My model even appeared in White Dwarf which I forgot to keep when I sold my collection.

The turnip28 minis are outstanding. That's a new level of variety I like to see. And thanks for the link to the fundraiser, I deeply appreciate it.
My pleasure Mitch!!! Always happy to share a good cause!!!!

Those turned out sweet! It really makes you think of a lost regiment sitting in the wilderness suddenly re awakened.
They look like the enemy roster for an area of a Dark Souls game. Fantastic job!
Okay, you've inspired me. I've pulled my Tomb Kings out of storage and I'm going to finish that beautiful obsolete army off :P

That Goblin Green is poking me in the eye.. but at the same time it looks kind of just right. Lovely stuff Dana, thank you.
