As an Irishman and a massive united fan since I was 8,O how I wanted to see Gerrard and Keane play beside each other because both could do everything defend attack pass score.Gerrard is without question better than scholes going forward and Keane the best awareness in defense especially.The 2 best I've seen in Premiership history.Maybe it would have been unfair to the rest of the teams to have to play against that imho.

Messi, Zidane, Kaka all praised Gerrard and said it would be an honour to play with him. He could have gone to Real Madrid and Chelsea and won lots of trophies but he choose to stay at home and become a player that will never be forgotten. No one will remember Bale after he retires or his 4 CL trophies etc. But everyone will remember Gerrard as one of the best of all time. That is just a fact. No one talks about Anderson, Deco, Ballack all these players won tons of trophies but does anyone care no because they were not great players. Hate him or love him he has gone down in history as a great and will be remembered for decades to come.
