- Mastermind is another unit of Yuri which can mind control enemy units. It's an expensive unit worth $1750 but can also cause some chaos to your opponent.
Apart from mind control a Mastermind doesn't have a weapon to protect itself. It can control unlimited units but will take damage for controlling more than three units.
The damage it takes increases as it converts more and more units. Iron curtain is the easiest way to keep it alive for a long period while it controls a massive amount of units.

Having ifv playing against AI is almost broken powerfull. The AI rarely target them.. and when they do.. they repair each other.
The true benefit of it is that when you never lose any ... in my case prism tanks... they level up really fast.
I usually have 4 prismanks on quick command 1.... more protecting them... then 2 - 4 ifv also protecting them
Anything that attacks them is turned to dust... and then they are repaired in seconds.
IFV as "BRAIN SURGERY VEHICLE" keeps supports mastermind have cancer brain because too many exam LMAO

@@deftdawg Map editors are a thing. You can make the Mastermind promotable on a per-map basis.
Just open the map (.map or .yrm or .yro) with Notepad and look for [MIND].
If it doesn't exist, then just write
[MIND]
Trainable=yes

Probably the devs made it that way to prevent a random spy will be mind controlled while the Yuri Prime is trying to handle a mass army
This is weird in a wiki:
"Like Yuri clones, Yuri Prime also can auto-detect and mind-control a disguised spy, with the sole exception if the spy disguises himself as a Yuri Prime."
Yuri feels insulted to use his power for mere spy
So the Mastermind can't tick for higher than it's maximum life, thus having it on rank 3 and providing it with sufficient Repair IFV's will allow it to control an infinite amount of units.

But you can't achieve Elite for him...
Actually no, I just discovered this. You can mind control so many units by using the godmod (can be access through cheats) many but not infinite because once it reached a certain amount all of the mind controlled units will be released. I didn't counted them but yea it's too many. It still has a limit.
make the repairing IFVs facing toward the mastermind, cost less time to rotate the turret and repair

Actually the most broken Battle Fortress mix is 4 GCI and 1 Seal. It can destroy terror drones in one hit this way (even though seals on their own can't do anything).

Chrono Legionnaires don't get killed by the Chronosphere teleport... It makes sense, but it's such a small detail that I never noticed before..!

Since the duration of chronosphere's teleportation after effect is the same across all units regardless of the distance, it's pretty useful for launching a surprise Legionnaire squad attack from afar.

Allied: dog, robot, harrier, transport chooper, prism tank
Soviet: terror drone, siege chooper, war miner
Yuri: It's only one true yuri
Yuri should be brute or disk.

Pretty sure the Mastermind didn't use Win 10 for OS. Otherwise, it would have to update and restart before it could masmerize its second victim.

6:42 at this point you can control infinitely many units with that Mastermind, once it enters the 11 units controlled range it never takes any further increased damage. :D
Had no idea the damage done by brainwave overload could be scaled by armor upgrades and promotion abilities, that's actually pretty neat.

These things were always so broken and overpowered
Which is why there's an unofficial patch to balance Yuri with things like limiting the Mastermind's capacity to 2 and increasing the Genetic Mutator timer.

@@jbowen867 I'm certain that also the chaos drone was made cheaper at 800 cash instead of 1000. Also, the gatling turret is more expensive and tank bunker is cheaper, so, in short, there are more changes than just the mastermind and genetic mutator.

@@Kiwijr2579 limiting the capacity to 2 seems boring and against the design of the unit, it would make more sense to make it more lightly armoured, or to give it a slower movement speed each time it converts a unit or something like that

@@tsiripas I usually don't like them too, it feels like you are playing a different game but this one does not change the game and graphics so much, adds interesting units to play (like a new kind of Yuri unit which has a drastic range of mind control). But again, I was just curious if you know it or not :)

That's one massive headache.
My solution to Masterminds getting overloaded was just to make a shit ton of them.
So it turns out that the mastermind had a BIG brain…
But how the hell? If there is a big brain in the vehicle does that mean that the brain is in control or is there a driver? And if the brain was in control was the brain speaking to you every time you select and order it? And if it did speak, how?

I guess it is what they call "telepathy" (the ability to communicate using only one's mind)
I didnt think of sustaining masterminds before, it gives me too much brain damage.

That could possibly trigger bugs especially when the the battle fortress was released from mind control. Usually the game doesn't let you mind control mind controlling units, so it might not be able to calculate the chain of control getting released correctly.
@@SimonClarkstone Chaining Mind Controlling units actually totally works as expected at every stage. I guess it just doesn't let you do it normally for balance reasons.

@@tsiripas Yep it´s valid, actually Elite Pillbox is gotten when it attacks and destroys an enemy Construction Yard,. I remember I saw that in a match.

As far as I know Red Alert 2, for the first time I felt sorry for the Master Mind. So the poor fellow did not even swing the terror drone.

Like what was shown at the end of the vid, you can make an alternative Mastermind by putting 5 Yuri clones in a Battle Fortress, and the advantage of that is it doesn't self destruct.
What would happen if a regular (Not an Elite) Mastermind Tank on IFV life support was Iron Curtained before mind controlling its 11th victim? Would it still explode?

I never knew more Machine Shops or Hospitals stack. I alays thought that if you have 1 you get the maximum possible effect.
And at this moment I realized you can use the Chronosphere on chrono infantry without killing them.
1. 1:40 Correction: Anything mind controlled by a Psychic Dominator cannot be mind controlled under any other influence OTHER THAN another Psychic Dominator.
2. The Mastermind won't automatically mind control Mirage Tanks assuming they're camouflaged and healthy, making a Mirage Tank ambush an excellent counter to Masterminds.
3. I believe the Mastermind has just slightly shorter range than the Infantry and even the structure, but the difference is so slight. And also, doesn't the Mastermind regenerate over time assuming it's not overloaded with minds?
1. I didn't know about the first one although it can make sense since dominator breaks mind control.
2. That has to do with an advantage Mirage tanks have though .
3. Yes, it has self-repair!

It's weird that it wouldn't detect spies, I always thought it would. I wonder if that was an oversight or deliberate by the devs.
If it weren't for keeping your eyes on it because it can explode if it is exceeded, it would be a very good option for the YURI CLONE. As much as it was limited to only 3 units. Because of that, I never use it.
any unit does not have a turret for firing, won't fit into a tank bunker
war miner fits into a tank bunker, but it won't go out of it properly
edit: war miner fits into a tank bunker after you change the parameter, then it won't go out of the bunker properly, most times it would be stuck, sometime else it would not be stuck
chronosphering may help
WW deliberately made specific units unable to enter Tank Bunkers with Bunkerable=no.
Tho I'm not sure if turrets have anything to do with it...
@@CnCDune you can change this parameter of some turretless vehicles like mirage tank or battle fortress and try
furthermore, you may make a mirage tank have a turnable turret after changing the "Bunkerable" parameter then try again
once inside the tank bunker, the chassis of the vehicle is locked, they can only turn the turret to switch between targets and fire at them
Playing crates on can promote MasterMinds. (Same with Battle Fortress, run around collecting promotions, then attack with all elite units lol.)
Crates can't promoted Masterminds.
This begs the question... how exactly do you get the Mastermind promoted?
Only through map editor.
