That was brilliantly put through. The details you emphasize are the business. I have been slowly gathering info re: Digitakt from numerous sources, however yours really stands out.
Beautiful sounds, love the video. I am now, even more shure I want this little magic box to jam out of my own head in to the wonderfull world of sound.
Yes, so good! If this is a new video series, I am EXCITED and here for it! I use a lot of these same techniques on the Model:Samples, top notch presentation.
Man... this is waaaay better than using your voice - but I see it's a lot more work - but this tutorial is so easy to follow. Very nice work and thank you so much!
This video alone is worth the price of the Patreon! As a Syntakt owner I'd love to see something like this but for that box, since none of the sampling tricks will apply and I'm sure you have some cool synthesis tricks.
Welcome Sam .. and thank you so much for your support !!! funny .. perfect timing... the next video is in progress. not specifically for Syntakt but with tricks that you can do on all Elektron's. A syntakt video will come, but I haven't spent much time with the box yet. Only as much as was necessary for the 3 tracks.
That fast vibrato on the pulse wave reminds me of the very old organ called Novachord used in many old movies to render horror and sorrow. Super haunting and filmesque. Check it out for inspiration. Great tips on using the eq filter to bring out harmonics!
Thanks ... there are tutorials about different topics and devices ... also "tracks from scratch" and videos about sound design, a LOT of project files, all my sound packs ...
Thanks a lot for this! I can't manage to get a decent loop out of a pad in Ableton using the crossfades. I always get some kind of clic. How do you export it ? Thanks a lot!
The click comes from the bit depth and sample rate conversion that DT does when you import a sample. In addition, a stereo sample is converted to mono ... So the best thing is to work in Ableton in 48 khz ... convert the sample to mono already in ableton (the file can remain stereo but the right and left channels must be identical) ... and then to render in 16 bit.
This is insanely good... I am dipping my toes in modular with the purpose of making these kind of sounds (and to combine them with techno). I was contemplating on my modular journey... It's not an easy way of making music and the results are not always musical. Then I stumbled upon this video and makes me wonder if I should stick to my Elektron stuff (Digitakt and others) and sell my eurorack...? It's not quite filled yet (Typhoon in a rackbrute + Minibrute 2s). Any thoughts? EDIT: I just found out about your patreon... you've got yourself another subscriber!
lovin the tutorial vids....quick question...I've had some experience with the Digitone and a little with the Digitakt....which one is better for ambient? in your opinion?...or anyone elses opinion I guess
Thanks!! i work with davinci resolve and can say little about other programs like premiere. In davinci i know two ways to do this: you can just copy your video to another track... there you crop everything until only the display is left. Then just zoom in a little and move it to the desired position. If you want to keep some of the background play around with the blend modes and the opacity. The second method works almost exactly the same except that you don't copy the video but use an adjustment clip for it. In this case, you have to change the blend mode from normal to add.
How do you create such textures from 1:36 min??? It sounds like it's under high voltage. I try to take it apart in my head to recreate it, but I despair of trying. How do you get such a broken sound? Best regards
That was so long ago that I really can't remember where the sample came from ... probably from the modular. If I had to recreate it today I would probably start with a sound from minifreak. Its "noise engineering" oscillators have built-in noise that sounds very similar ... then sent through the free "ruina vesio" plugin ... also from noise engineering .. and maybe Ableton Lives Erosion plugin on top of that.
a patreon subscription is coming your way....I just want to have an elektron box in front of me when I sub...not sure which box to get tho!....'tone or 'takt?
Sorry for the late reply !! great ... thanks !! It's really hard to say without knowing you, your way of working, your preferences, your music. I can only say that the Digitone is my absolute favourite. No other device inspires me like this.

Great video. I love the chord progression trick! That's a smart solution to the Digitakt's lack of polyphony. I'm going to steal that 🌛
Glad it was helpful! 🙏

Schönes Tutorial. Danke! Macht Lust auf mehr.Ich mag den Stil, keine Gerede, sondern nur Text- und vergrößerte Display-Einblendung.
Vielen Dank !! Freut mich sehr !
I don't use one of these, but I'm really impressed by the presentation......... what a great selection of sounds & textures..........right up my alley

Fantastic tutorial, Substan! Thank you!!
Super useful. Keep it going. Like to have a video about voice samples. Like cinematic monologues and how to treat them well.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Reference video... Incredible
This is excellent! Just got my 2nd Digitakt, so these techniques will come into play.
Just what I was looking for thank you
On one hand this is really cool, on the other, once I have to go to ableton to create the sampels, I might as well just create the pad there.
This is one of the best and most enjoyable Digitakt videos to watch. I was searching for a vid on ambient with the Digitakt. Thank you!!
Thanks ... Glad it was helpful!
Always good.. Been listening to you for a while great sounds..
Wow. One of the best tutorials I have seen for DK. Think I’ll need to patreon now ! 👏🙏

I can't get the crossfade technique to work - it clicks while looping in my DAW (Logic), never mind on the Digitakt... Any ideas out there?
Great Vid! How do you get the Digitakt screen to pop up like you do on the left side of the screen, as if hovering?
