10:25 make sure to right click the lfo circle knob and set it to "make bipolar" so the pitch stays in tune lol, i didn't know about it before so i was always confused why it sounded off key😭 great tutorial tho, was really useful to recap the basic functions of vital for me :D
1:20 as soon as this came on i started bursting out laughing. That was so unexpected and using a song to teach different wave types is just hilarious to me. Best tutorial ive ever seen tbh
Reese bass is really just universally useful, isn't it? It works with damn near everything. Neurofunk, jungle, you'll even hear it in massive pop hits. And whatever digicore is! Cool beat, btw. Sounds like the intro to some nonexistent Virtual Riot song.
This is one of the best videos let alone tutorials I've ever watched. I've always struggled with sound design and understanding it, but like other people have said, this just lays it out so simply. It's also entertaining as heck, fantastic work!!
I am already a profesional who hasn't ever heard what digicore is and this is quite ultra basic but my god that's the funniest most accurate names for the waves i've ever seen.
I knew all of this already, having made music for 5 years and semi professionally for 2 and also having a degree in this. But this video is a really good start for sound design and Vital is one of my favorite tools for music production, definitely recommended!
I can't believe you didn't even talk about FILTERS (which most people would say is one of the most important things in sound design) and still all of your sounds sounded great😭😭😭 this could never be me
digicore sounds i use just don't really use filters for some reason lol i guess all of our sounds supposed to sound more harsh and raw, so definitely no low pass
@nightigerxo well, you're right anyway, in Vital this unison detune knob adds some stereo effect by changing panning of unison voices. Even though some synths like Toxic Biohazard, PoiZone and even GMS has these two features separated (you can set a unison stereo and unison detune independently) i never paid attention that unosin detune affects paning and stereo (side) content. But in Vital you still can set unison stereo in "Advanced" tab, which is enabled by default. So yeah, thank you for clarifying)
if u wanna keep that "8 bit" sound with multiple waveforms, set the phase percentage to 0. you can also use FM for Sega Genesis esque sounds, and with LFO for some y2k pop stuff. also, download OTT, codec, all the kilohertz free pack. also also! the traditional reese bass is which uses way less space in the mix, is just two saw waves pitched up and down 20-40 cents respectively. i like to distort carefully, and then Automate (with an LFO or manually with clips) a low pass filter
I had never heard of Digicore before, and am not that much into making music, but damn that video's so great. With first Synthet and now your channel, the FL community's clearly popping off. Keep up the good work! Feels like a whole new era of more produced tutorials that are entertaining as well as educational. I'm eager to see what you'll do in the future!
Do the full version of the song at 2:30 exists? It was getting really good. :s Also, ty by showing this plugin, I really was looking for a good oscilator or something that does the same, and I was to lazy to test a bunch of plugins!
triangle are useful for making a sine sound with just the tiniest but of edge or for emulating the NES (mostly this) also eric bowman has some great sound design tutorials for vital that taught me a lot about the program
wow tysm. idk anything abt sound design or music, but i want to learn to hopefully make a game oen day. i love the style of ur vids :) and i found this rly useful!!
I’ve been using vital and fl studio for almost four years now, and yet I still found this engaging and informative. Nice work! (Ps, don’t diss my boys the triangle and brain damaged sine wave. They’re really useful for pads and more colorful subs)
@@malegria9641 glad you liked!!😊 i personally don't use them and wanted to highlight it, but despite them being useless i didn't want to hurt their feelings!
Yo you might like to try the Krush VST. Its a free bitcrusher that does what Vital's Down Sample effect does, but you have way more control over the sound. Also a very good video for people to start learning the basics of ADSR :)

wow thank you!! i didn't know this, i always manually set the tune to half of the amount of the automation😭
bro just created a new genre of tutorials
😆😆
Real
Have a look for some composerily reuploads, he coined this type of music tutorial back in the day
Clicked to know what digicore is and got probably one of the best general sound design tutorials ever lmao

The 7 basic waves song goes hard
That musical bit really caught me off guard, good job man

thank you for making me look at vital not thinking that i should replace it
😭😭what's wrong with vital?
@nightigerxofr theres no better one, they are just different
Its not serum @nightigerxo
@nightigerxo ehh
I'm just too much of a newbie to vital and I've been using analog lab presets only?????
@przewroce i prefer using presets myself too, i don't think it's a newbie thing but a preference rather
Watched several tutorials on how to use a synth, yet nobody has ever been so straight to the point than this video.
glad i could help!!
I will definitely come back to this tutorial 5000 times

High quality content fr fr
😊
You should try doing dariacore it’s pretty similar to digicore but just on crack
3:04 sorry, this is not different pannings, they are detuned. But probably they have some stereo content too
@@smart_bar true! it's both detune and panning, thank you for pointing it out

Bro make a vocal mix tutorial, your vocals are 🔥🔥🔥
I second this
I wanna know what he did fr
I wish this video was out when I first started learning to use vital, this was exactly what I was looking for
if u wanna keep that "8 bit" sound with multiple waveforms, set the phase percentage to 0. you can also use FM for Sega Genesis esque sounds, and with LFO for some y2k pop stuff.

8:30 i would consider adding an extra low pass filter or eq here to make sure this lead doesnt clash with the hi hat, bitcrush noise, and vocals
i don't make music, i don't even know what digicore is, but this tutorial was fun to watch anyway
