Not gonna lie best reffing the whole playoffs, they got the spot on deebo perfect which made it fourth down, then they could have easily gave the first down on the qb sneak but called a penalty. Not to mention even if the cowboys got the last snap/ spike off, they would have had six ppl offsides because the ball got spotted back. Cowboys always choke, and if anything the nfl was trying to give them a chance to win

Fun fact, the refs have to spot the ball AND be given time to get into their stances before the ball is snapped according to the rulebook. The second part of this rule is ignored all the time when there's no clock left but think about how many times the ref is blocking the d-line from being able to rush as he's trying to move through them after touching the ball.
They need to do it like they do it in college
@@ReamDaDream They do it the exact same way as college. Even in college the umpire or C must spot the ball. Or do you mean the clock stops after the first down? I mean if Dak would have just handed the ball to the Ref there would have been at least 2 seconds left
The new NFL rule change moved that ref further back than in previous years, but still the call and execution wasn’t good.
@@rustyscopano2667 I would say just make every play have a minimum runoff time so unless a ref is running ridiculously slow it doesn't matter. Then teams can clock manage more reliably as well like if you've got 11 seconds left and there's a 10 second minimum runoff...well that's your hail mary play instead of hoping the ref hustles quick enough to the ball to give you 4 seconds instead of 1 second. And if the ref or team takes 11 seconds then it's game over still.

Who tf blaming the refs? I'm a cowboys fan through and through and I'm so unbelievably disappointed with the shit I saw out there. Terrible plays, dumb mistakes and so much god damn indecision. This might be one of the few games I've seen where the refs actually made good calls.

Played through high school and college and coach hs for a few years. Part of the 2 minute drill is finding the linesman and gettin him the ball as soon as your downed. That’s the ump. Back in the day when he was positioned behind the LBs we would tossed it to him to spot, but for 10 years it’s been “FIND THE LINEJUDGE OR HEAD LINESMAN”

@@marcgw496 it was Jimmy the whole time. he missed a wide open aiyuk to convert a 3rd down late in the 3rd or early in the 4th i believe. he also throws an interception on a stupid throw. it wasnt close, that dallas offense got dominated.

That ref actually cheated for the cowboys by moving the ball up a half yard to allow them to hike it without moving, when the whole line should have been moved back to the 25 yard line based on the Side judges spotting.

Coming from an extremely biased 49ers fan - 1. @ NO level is a QB taught to hand the ball to his center after a play.(mental mistake) 2. Look up the win percentage of teams with 10 or more penalties in a game. 3. How does Mike McCarthy have a job right now? Potentially a top 5 worst play call of all time to end the game.
Now: If Dak had handed the ball off to the ref, Dallas clocks it with one play remaining from about the 20ish yard line. Would’ve had to have EVERYTHING fall in your favor.
Regardless: 14 penalties is high school shit. Instead of blaming a ref for bumping Dak, ask why tf Dak handed the ball to his center to spot, why McCarthy still has his job, and how tf to teach your defense discipline & how to stop a run.

I don’t think the last play was supposed to be a surprise, after the 49ers let the cowboys get out of bounds for a couple play they locked up the sides of the field forced them up the middle
Earlier this year with the packers v 49ers it had a similar situation. Rodgers threw a pass down the middle to Adams with like 15s left while the clock was still running and adams placed the ball exactly where he gave himself up(instead of handing it to the center) and the refs touched the ball and got out the way. The packers knew the rule and executed everything perfectly

But chiefs 49ers Super Bowl 2020 we had some horrible calls on kittle and bosa that eventually cost us a super bowl win. So I feel your pain man. But hey it is what it is, those 14 penalties didn’t help us but as I see it the boys fought to get to that position on the 4th and we’re just unlucky trying to snap the ball. I’m a realist, the cowboys beat themselves but it’s still DC4L!! Cowboys all day!!!!!

Even though I'm a Bills fan, I was kind of rooting for the Cowboys, because of what Dak has been though. My personal opinion though: do not, and I repeat, do NOT, run down the middle with mere seconds left in the 4th quarter of a playoff game. If that play was mainly decided by the coach, I'm in disbelief.
It was called by their O-Coordinator and approved by their head coach. Why Mike McCarthy hasn't been fired yet is beyond me. That guy can't manage a clock to save his life.

The ref needing to be closer than 30 yards ( not running with dak but closer for sure ) and it still being Daks fault aren't mutually exclusive. It doesn't matter if the ref is in the tunnel, any other player I've ever watched in a moment like that gets up and immediately is spinning in circles looking for the ref to give him the ball. Dak gave no fucks didn't even think to look for the ref. That's 100% on him regardless of where the ref is.

I’m a huge Cowboys fan, have been my whole life as I grew up in Texas. I was literally jumping off the couch furious when watching this game. We shoulda beat ‘em by twenty dude. I mean we beat ourselves with the number of penalties (offsides, holdings, etc.) that we’re just dumb. Like as an elite NFL team you shouldn’t be making dumb mistakes like that.

As a 49er fan, I got to agree with Timmy Tenders. The back ref should have been close by as the ball is advancing down the field. It really sucks that's the ending we got since it cheapens the win San Francisco got. Dallas may very well have thrown into the endzone for some magic but now we'll never know. The reason they went away from the slants is bc the Niners took away the sidelines. If you noticed how no one was in the middle of the field they were okay giving u guys anything in the middle bc u had no timeouts. Dak needed to slide 5 yards shorter and the clock wouldn't have been an issue. The ref was there before the Oline was even set for the spike, dak was trying to get under center instead of letting the ref by. Maybe don't look at a singular screenshot lol
