- As things return to normal, or so I've seen on the RUclips videos, it looks like Las Vegas is starting to make a comeback... hopefully safely!
Very fortunate to get the chance to visit amazing Las vegas, and even more grateful to get to meet up with good friend Dan and explore the great eats that this town has to offer. I arrived a little early, and this is still the lunar New Year celebration week. what better day to spend the morning, and celebrate the new year then with a nice dim sum brunch... and it gets better, because it is a luxurious dim sum buffet, with amazing roasts, Peking Duck, luscious foie gras, and an assortment of seafood! this is a special event held at the bellagio, at what I consider a hidden gem. Inside the casino, if you search hard enough, you'll find a wonderful Chinese restaurant called Jasmine. Once inside, you'll be greeted with The fountains of Bellagio, and the bountiful buffet floor!
However, just as great as the food was, the servers and the hosts were even better. It looks like Vegas hospitality, and Vegas generosity is back.

Really good to see you back in VEGAS!! The buffet seemed pricey at first but the dishes offered and the caliber of food was very good.

This is such a bright and elegant place, love the atmosphere. Beside the amazing authentic food, you wouldn't imagine you're in Las Vegas, almost an old time Nola feel. Even the plates match the wallpaper. Fantastic how they light the shrimp from below the ice. Duck, Roast Beef and Lamb Wow 👌 Thanks for this share, you never disappoint.

Well, it looks like buffets are SLOWLY coming back. So enjoying these last few videos. I've been in "re-runs" with you, so to speak, watching again the train trips, and of course longing for the day when this becomes more routine. I really love these, much as I enjoy the cabin videos from our mutual RUclips friend, Dale Calder. Speaking of which, he has not been doing any cabin videos, and very, very few cooking videos, as he indicated that he has been experiencing some health issues. Keeping him in my prayers. Such a wonderful, genteel gentleman.
Oh no!!! I commented a while back to see how he was doing and he responded. The last video I saw was the no yeast Cinnamon buns but I did not recall he was having health issues. I thought I saw a new video pop up but was not able to find it. Thoughts are prayers are certainly with him!

Jasmine is epic! I've been several times, but never for this offering! Always get thr Peking duck, carved table side and their walnut prawns are amazing, too.

I was trying to figure out if they’d do it or not this year but didn’t see any indication on their website that they would so I didn’t go. I’m glad they brought it back. I used to love going to the fountains brunch when they regularly had it on Sundays.

They don't have this regularly but only on special dates...do try to catch this if you can because they are quite nice. It was $88 if I recall correctly.

Keep an eye out for these special event buffets, they are expensive but the quality and ingredients are on the higher end.. believe it or not, I suspect these may be lost leaders for them
88 for this was slightly expensive, and I thought they'd focus more on the dim sum... sad

OMG! Was the buffet only available for the Chinese New Year or are they all year around?
Hi Lynn, there are a few places that offer these buffet events only during special holidays like Christmas, etc. Do keep an eye out for them as they are quite unique and good. This was only available for a few weeks.
Do they offers buffet, I checked out the Jasmine but it a regular menu not buffet.
Hi Huan, they don't offer these buffets on a regular basis, so one really has to keep an eye out for these special events. If you do catch it, it's actually quite a good experience. As high as the prices were, they are generally a loss leader as the ingredients they use are quite high end.
Is 88 the regular cost or it for new years only.

I must say I was quite impressed with Vegas. Very clean and not crowded (not too crowded)...very respectful all around. Definitely a pleasure to meet Dan; while we know each other virtually, it's nice to meet in person🙂

Oh my God, there is moss fungus too!!!! That is definitely a traditional CNY item. No ginseng congee, but abalone congee is different. I have been watching some Hong Kong videos. It seems that these days people in Hong Kong have hotpot for the reunion dinner. Things have changed obviously. The Chinese New Year's Eve dinner is called the reunion dinner now. I was fortunate enough to have lived and worked in Hong Kong. It's interesting how much things have changed. Just can't keep up with everything!! You are so fortunate to travel to Las Vegas and have such a wonderful buffet with duck, rack of lamb and prime rib. Indeed, it's still CNY as it's celebrated for 2 weeks, and that has not changed.

Hi Tim, I love your videos. It's so nice to see you greet my screen with always a smile, you're polite as usual, great sharp focused shots of the food items and you always take your time to pan the camera slowly so everyone can see and enjoy the view. Music is always subtle, never loud and obnoxious. The perfect "recipe" for me to watch! OK, I've gave you a thumbs up, already a subscriber and commented.

@@jennyerickson9112 I have watched one of David's Vietnamese seafood video where he eats raw oysters with a lot of stuff on top of them. There was lobster, razor clams and huge clams. He used a coca-cola can to measure the length of the huge clam to show how big it is. The last item was crawfish. He had a nice seafood meal with his wife and 2 little kids.
Very watchable. Excellent food and great presentation. Wish I was there but I spend most of my time in Vietnam but like to travel. Keep on trucking! Not sure about any collaboration you do it well yourself but my philosophy is give everything a try and see what happens. Best of luck.

Never seen this buffet. Looks fantastic. Super high quality, I checked on the price and very reasonable for the variety and quality of food. I prefer this to the much larger, much more crowded, and much more expensive buffets. Is this a Chinese New Years Special or is this all year long?

Hi Tim...thx for sharing the experience with us...I noticed this buffet celebrating CNY is a lot more different then the other buffets...I loved all the food here more 😋...my fav was the chicken feet, ribs w/blk bean sauce and especially the sticky rice 👍...I don't like the sticky rice wrapped in the lotus leaf 🤣...a little too steep for me, but I guess they just charged $88 cause it was CNY...be safe, take care and safe travels...have a blessed week 😘🤗💙

Hi Ravil, greatly appreciate you taking the time to reach out. Yes, I generally do the filming myself and thank you for your comment...still don't really know what I'm doing, but having fun figuring it out. I just use one little camera called the DJI Osmo pocket, or just my phone camera.

WOW! $88.00 for a buffet! The goldware service is a nice, elegant touch. I spend that much on two weeks worth of groceries; this includes the ingredients for my favorite libations.

Of all the buffets, this one is The Best in variety, portion size, presentation, atmosphere and ease of getting the food without walking a great distance. Some buffets gave you a specific time limit of two hours while others put a limit on the number of lobsters you could get. Also, some served you champagne while others served you ice tea. A great difference among the buffet places !

Hello Tim, is it worth $88 for the buffet? I don't think so... why didn't you eat the rack of lambs with any sauce? If the Peking duck was so good, why didn't you come back for more? Also, why did you film only one of the desserts? I think you could get more of your $ if you go to a local Chinese restaurant in Vegas.
