My daughter was infected more than three years ago (August 2020) she got meningoencephalitis and was in the hospital for five months, one of them in coma. We're still fighting for her recovery. I’m recovering from WNV (Encephalitis) and it’s worse than covid in my experience. I’ve never been so sick. Edit: it also came with Rhabdomyolysis, which was horrible.
I have West Nile. I am having a flare up again. This time it has lasted 19 days with 1 day that I thought I was getting a 24 hour remission. It happens at random times through the year. First sign I get is my neck tightens up like there are metal rods in it. Then my head starts to tighten along with bad pain. my left side was affected. My left wrist swells and hurts. I get extremely tired and I sleep some days 14 hrs to 18. Depending on the day I will wake for an hour or so then and back to bed. Just when I think it is subsiding BAM Vertigo. Can't move if I lay down, walk, sit the room looks like I am in the house of the Wizard of Oz. I need a walker, toilet riser and a shower chair. It is controlling my life. I am finding out that Stress or anxiety seems to be a trigger along with anything like UTI or any infection. I have had sepsis, AFIB, 104 fever, convolutions, problems breathing, Hallucinations, delirious and hospitalized two time for a week where I was only home three days and back in the hospital. I had a spinal tap because they had no idea why I was convulsing, 104 fever, in pain and partial paralysis on my left side. I wish this on no one. Please if your going out Spray yourself with Deet. Not off with Deet but Deet. Spray your children too. Have a professional spray your yard. This West Nile can cripple you. There is no cure or medication for this Disease.

I have a question , my stomach kind of hurts and before getting this i got bited by a musquito and it's literally 2 am plEASE HELP Oh and i didn't really eat good and i still don't speak english
My daughter tested positive for Meningoencephalitis - West Nile Virus. She cant walk alone, talk, ect. But within a week i see signs of improvement. Will she have any long term deficits? Im assuming no 1 knows if she will get back to her normal self without complications but has there been cases of people going back to normal after testing positive for Meningoencephalitis??? Thanks

It’s true, there are a lot of viruses that are worse than Covid. Covid just has an unusually high rate of transmission.
