The M4 handpiece might actually be a game changer for you. As my friend, Adnan had mentioned, you can buy them from china as well. Be careful as you can find 90 degree reciprocating handpieces.
    From the DFU:
The M4 Safety Handpiece is designed to effectively and safely instrument canals. The chuck oscillates 30 degrees in an efficient, watch-winding motion. The gear reduction ratio is 4:1. The M4 Safety Handpiece accommodates instruments with a maximum handle diameter of 4mm. It can be connected to E-type motors, and is in accordance with DIN 13.940 and ISO DIS 3964. A spray cooling attachment is not required.

This handpiece is incredible . Patency is always there! Say goodbye to canal ledges. I'm using it for a while now i can't do endo without it

What's the handpiece you're using? Brand and model? Does it have to be driven by and electric motor or an endo motor? Settings? Thanks in advance!

Previously I’ve commented on your videos. They are excellent and thanks you for sharing them. After 38 years in practice in my opinion no file system works great for every case. Occasionally I still have to hand file the entire case. Another approach is a hybrid approach as you have discussed with this reciprocating hand piece and stainless steel files. Then after glide path is established proceed with NiTi file system you prefer. Currently for straight forward cases I use WaveOne. For easy cases with huge canals I still prefer 04 taper profiles (old but effective).
These are only my opinions and I am still looking to learn and change after 38 years.
Keep up the good work. You are promoting good patient care through education. And that is why we do this.

Why .04 for huge canals? Isn't WaveOne more suited for wide canals as it's .07? Big taper for wider canals and smaller one for narrower canals?

Thank you for sharing as always. I have a question about WL determination. I was watching one of your videos from 3 years ago where you said you will start following Dr. Ricucci recommendation of taking the WL at the end of the blue scale on a morita root zx EAL. Are you still following Dr. Ricucci's recommendation today and what were your observations during those 3 years? Thank you very much to taking the time :)

Hello doc, I just wanted to comment thanks for sharing and I'd like to ask since I'm from the Balkan and we don't have a SAF system here, could you please make some video about it, if you have the gadget.. I know that the SAF system have hand piece similar to this but instead watch winde technique it uses up and down moves... And what are your thoughts about it

Been using it since the SafeSiders came out. It’ll get you down any canal if you’re in it, but it can cut its own path and perf curves they say. I’ve never had it happen but I’m not aggressive with it and go no bigger than 15 file. Some say you can’t gauge the apex with it. Well I can’t gauge it if I can’t get to it!😀 Or if I break a NiTi file trying to get to the apex.

@@AllThingsDentistryHey Doc! Amazing stuff, already enjoying your online course. A question: I have been searching on the web and the M4 handpiece is by SybronEndo, but when I the video closely, I notice you use a NSK handpiece... Which model is it? Another thing I'm not sure about is the most suitable motor for this type of handpiece. I use the X Smart Plus Endo Motor by Dentsply, but I do not know whether it might be compatible with the M4 handpiece. Maybe an endo motor is not the answer and I should get an electric motor to get it work. I searched on Aliexpress and there are no imitations of this handpiece, only some regular (finner) ones, but with 60-90° reciprocation motion. Thanks in advance for your valuable input!

Really liked this video, I knew about this hand piece thought that it is for those lazy ass people. But after watching your video i realized it's a great tool to clear ledges. Once you negotiate the canal with 10k file i can reciproc it and make the patency for bigger files. During dent school it took me 30 minutes to clear a ledge so i guess this will come in handy.

That’s such a great question. I’ve been thinking about doing some testing with extracted teeth, but I honestly don’t have the time, unfortunately, intuitively, I think that once you have your file at length meaning you have attained patency with that file, the probability of fracturing that file with a 30° reciprocating and piece should be minimal. when I started doing a Endo as a new grad, I can tell you that my watch winding was more like turning a door knob!
