Im primarily asillustrator but I was asked to create a logo for someone. I havent used InDesign in years so this video really helped! Well explained and easy to follow! Thank you and well done!
Just wanted to say many thanks. Absolutely what I was looking for. I did not want the text top and bottom, just at top. Took a while to figure out the type at bottom for text at top, but got there in the end with alignment tools. Well done and thanks again.
I'm glad my video helped. Thank you for taking the time to say so.
I feel a bit like Dr Watson must have after Sherlock Holmes explained a seemingly difficult deduction. Thank you, Mr. Burke, for the easy-to-understand explanation of a task that has perplexed me for a very long time. J
Thanks I have worked with Indesign for years and the 2nd method you presented here was great. Well presented with the pace! Great stuff.
Perfect. I didn't even know about that flip text option. Was always trying to do it with the selection tool - which can be done but is super tricky to execute.
Thank you, Pariah. You have saved me so many times.
This tutorial was incredibly helpful. Loved the way its presented, the pace and clarity was great. Easy to follow-Success!
Thank you. You should check out my InDesign Pluralsight courses then. abbrv.it/PSPariahBurke
OH! this is very cool and easy. Thanks, did it and it works!
My pleasure!
Very helpful! Easy to understand. Thanks!
Thank you for doing this! Great reminder.....
thanks! that was really helpful!
So good! Thank you!
Thank you Pariah!
Thank you for that Sir...very kind of you and much appreciated. I like your calm clear style Cheers.!
Thanks v much. Totally forgot how to flip the text!
How did you create the paragraph style for circle text?
Thanks! I like your style and appreciate your time : ) Saved me some!
Really helpful, thank you for making.
UGH thank you so much. I was trying to figure that out way too long.
Thank you for doing this
Thank you so much! This helped me with my resume:))
I'm so glad it helped! You're most welcome.
thank you
Thanks for this - I'd forgotten where the "flip" option was! :) I don't think your second method here is really necessary at all… if the top and bottom don't line up then all you need to do is adjust the bassline shift (Shift+Alt+up/down).
Thank you!
Yeahhh. it's years I don't understand how i do it.. thanks!!
Hello Pariah, what if you just want to type along the circle, but then get rid of the circle path? Will that circle show? I just want the text w/o the circle.
Set the circle to no stroke, no fill.
@@PariahBurke Thank you that worked wonderfully!!:)
Thank you so much!!! Great tutorial......
Does not work for me - when I click to centre align it stays on the bottom - can't get it to the top at all. More detail please.
Thanks
I want to add lines in circle, trangle, rectangle shapes
danke für die erklärung __grazie di aver spiegato thanks
A bit tougher to do when it’s not a perfect circle. Try this on an oval to see what I mean.
Did anyone else find that when they did the text flip that the text just moved up onto the top line but was still upside down?
I fixed that: by dragging one of the bars on the side of the text (they have a little square outline attached to them) 180 degrees around my shape.
Hi, Alexis. In the center of the text--halfway between the two bars--is a third bar (without a box), a center point. Drag that, and you'll be able to rotate without change the starting and ending indentation, which is the side bars.
Perfect!
Can't you use baseline shift to position the text?
You can, but it's quick and dirty, and it can create problems for you down the road or with some fonts.
how did you add color to the circle?
Hi! I only want the text without the circle-line, how do i remove the line without removing text, is that possible? Thank u
Watch the video.
sameeee??
Just perfect
Circle Text>???????? cant find
nice
why do Americans say 'wind up', instead of 'end up'? What are you winding? You start something and it 'ends' somewhere...

So annoying they went and changed the whole Type On a Path too - why oh why do they do this after a tried and tested user frtiendly decades of experience I now have to dig in to find the way to do this - used to be so simple - this kind of thing will be the death of Adobe you mark my words! @adobe
Thank you for this! So helpful
Thank you!
THANK YOU!
You're welcome!
