Adorable how nervous Ed is. Probably the only member of Radiohead who will admit to being a huge Beatles fan. Two of the all time greats together. Warms my heart.
Can you imagine that?? Think about The Beatles, back in the 60's and then a conversation between Paul and Ed, from Radiodead, 50 years after, ON THE INTERNET! Dear god, it's mindblowing...
Love how Paul easily cuts short his line of thought and changes tack to include Ed's daugher in the conversation. He seems to be such a balanced and mature person. He's a role model as a person as well as an artist. Such a star in so many ways.
Must be surreal being Ed's daughter. Her dad's in Radiohead and he's on the phone to Macca, and she joined in. That story will beat anybody else's around the pub table, for ever and a day.
I raised my children on the music of The Beatles and it has become the soundtrack of our lives. One of my sons adores Radiohead and this interview ties our generations together. Thank you, Paul for giving us the "magic" of your music all these years.
Paul is rocking the grey. For those of you who think he’s Faul. He still has the scar by his lip from the motorcycle accident in 1966. It is really Paul.
Almost 55 years of this Paul is dead nonsense is so tiring. Been a fan since 63/64 and THAT IS PAUL. Unless some kind of unknown perfect AI existed in 1966,the voices are identical, his Brother, other family members and friends would know the difference. "That's not Uncle Ira" LOL
One of the things that came to my mind while watching this interview, was this unique skill Paul must have aquired in guarding his and his families privacy ..to be the most famous musician in modern times where so much is out in the public view for public inspection and at the same time having to be the opposite .. completely guarding his and his families privacy has to be quite challenging.
In the sixties when I was about nine I had a lovely dream that Paul McCartney was my friend and I always remember that dream. Will I ever meet him for real ? Doubt it.
I also had some similar dreams... I just had one a few days ago where I met Paul at a supermarket and ended up going together in a plane... Very nonsense I know, like most dreams but still fun, I was very happy while dreaming haha
amazing thank you very much for this interiviw as you know ED paul is for many of us a unique star he is a great heuman being a unique musician .. ecolgist... a great ligth to this world so to see him talking to you is a gift to many of us and a gift to my heart
God hes looking fantastic here , he's one of about seven or eight people some are living some are gone, that I wish and hope will never ever perish from this world .
i love the bluebells too.. very lucky where i live, Cardiff, is an area/hill north of the city, the Wenallt.. and it comes alive with them in the spring.. what a lovely interview, thankyou for sharing this 🙂
How do you tell Paul McCartney how much he means to you, congratulate him on what he's done etc. without sounding like probably ten or twenty people Paul has already met that week?!? He KNOWS all that anyway. As they say, The Queen thinks the whole world smells of fresh paint. :)
A sad day yesterday I watched the funeral service for prince Phillip and thought of the Beatles who met him sir Paul in this interview reminded me of a life he’s had meeting royals and what longevity he’s had he looks well and it’s allways a pleasure listening to him I’m feel lucky to have pepople like this in my life time and we must never forget that thanks for this interview appreacated
So sad didn't get to see you at Newport Folk Festival last Summer. Understand why obviously. Hope to someday because Newport is the best festival out there. Beautiful people, location and so historic.
Monday morning, simply need this quiet moment to be with You Dear Paul ! .... I need to talk with You ! Come, let You be with me this morning ! I need to feel close to You ! YEAH ! I'm so lucky to have people like You Dear, Dear Paul in my personnal life time ! 🙏❤️
if your interested in what ed is saying about paper back writer being a dance track look up the isolated bass clip somewhere on you tube, thats where it comes from
It's interesting to compare James Jamerson's bass playing & Paul's. In one way they are polar opposites but in another way they are very similar. They are different in terms of tone: Jamerson had a very trebly, percussive sound but McCartney's bass tone in the Beatles was very fat & deep. Two completely different approaches. But they were similar in that they both complemented the song with countermelodies & riffs that brought the bass more to the forefront.
Yep it's a D. Perfect pitch is not really a gift in any case. Not even sure it's a sign of musical ability. Relative pitch, on the other hand, is a far more musical asset and of course comes from knowing what you're doing musically. When you've heard a D so many times....tuning up, playing the same song, or hearing a section of music looped while being worked on in the studio....that D becomes ingrained. Then when someone says 'sing an F', you inwardly sound a D in your head then go up two notes and sing the F. Then they go 'heyyy have you got perfect pitch?' and you smile, thinking 'nah'. :)
Ladies and gentlemen, Like Mick Jagger - Once he is gone, he is gone - Cherish legends NOW while we can!! All the legends will be gone soon. Then we will be left with who - Miley Cyrus?
Great interview, if only If there was more Paul talking and less interrupting by interviewer 's 10 minute lead into each question or observation. Your interviewing a legend, let him talk.
Ask Paul how he felt about Ed's active participation. This is two brilliant musicians sharing exceptional, and very sympatico, musical journeys. Paul had plenty of space and time to express himself.
You should have been protesting mightily and relentlessly these totally unwarranted , irrationally driven, monstrous infringments on human rights. Tell the elderly and frail to minimize risk, if they so choose as they might be expected to do in any viral respiratory season and *ALL* others live your lives to the fullest Infection Fatality Rate = well under 0.2 % (and falling rapidly)
Beatles and Radiohead are the 2 greatest bands of all time. Fact
thank you sir
Amen
Y pink floyd! las 3 mejores bandas de todos los tiempos! Y no se diga más!!

It's mind-blowing how down-to-earth Ed is.
its impossible not to like him
That was exactly the conversation I didn’t realize I needed to hear. Learning that 2 people you love and respect are friends is magic. Thank you.
Not Magic, MUSIC ;)
How does this only have 4k views? This is great!
Because it was only mirrored from another channel where it was originally published.
Paul is rocking the grey. For those of you who think he’s Faul. He still has the scar by his lip from the motorcycle accident in 1966. It is really Paul.
is that what thats from...
The acciident that chipped his front tooth.
@Leigh Mcdinagh makeup i think

Wonderful to let the world be part of this informal conversation. It makes us all less 'isolated'. Thank you.
One of the things that came to my mind while watching this interview, was this unique skill Paul must have aquired in guarding his and his families privacy

Wow. These amazing musicians from two of my favorite bands? I love the www for things like that!
One takeaway: if Paul is coming by to your studio for tea, make sure you’ve got a left-handed guitar nearby.
What an enjoyable interview. Listening and looking at Paul just brings me back to better times. Very comforting. Thanks Ed for this wonderful post.
Thank you so much for this fantastic chat with sir Paul.
All the best to you and your lovely daughter.
Thank you very much, Ed !!!! What a birthday gift you gave to the world!!! Amazing interview, amazing friends, amazing night here in Brazil!
I love Paul, I went to 3 concerts of him in Brazil.
I hope to see him tour next year. Seen him twice myself.
Legends to legends! I love this ❤️
it makes me so happy to see two members of some of my favorite bands being good friends. 22:58
I want to hear Paul and Ringo playing Morning Bell (the Kid A, 5/4 version)
Take note kids. The greatest music is often made by the sweetest people.

Love these two so much.
Great conversation between Ed and Billy.
Sensational to see in one word! We love you Paul and Happy Birthday Ed...✌☮♥️🥰😎
Paul is so kind!
Great interview. Apart from being filmed in portrait.

HBDay ED! 🌹
Love this!
My fav video of the year so far, thanks!
Thanks and Happy Birthday, Ed! Such a nice surprise!
How do you tell Paul McCartney how much he means to you, congratulate him on what he's done etc. without sounding like probably ten or twenty people Paul has already met that week?!? He KNOWS all that anyway. As they say, The Queen thinks the whole world smells of fresh paint. :)
28:43 "I'm gonna have a piece on gum"😂
😂😂😂
Yeah from there on I was concerned about his chewing dislodging that lower set of white gnashers.
What a treat, thank you
Oh and 🙋♀️ hi Paul.
Excellent interview 2 legends talking is a remarkable watch..👍
This is great..I wish though McCartney was asked more specific questions about the Beatles and his solo career

Funny, Paul talks about Elvis and Nixon. That was a shocker 😳
Good Lord nice lil video I love Paul McCartney! He’s just a positive energy in my life. No one like him 😍🤤
thank you for this! I was wondering where to find it
God bless for doing this
Great!!!

Love for ever!
HAPPY 79TH BIRTHDAY PAUL MCCARTNEY !!!
I’ve never met or seen or heard from or talked to anyone with humility.
Monday morning, simply need this quiet moment to be with You Dear Paul ! .... I need to talk with You ! Come, let You be with me this morning ! I need to feel close to You ! YEAH ! I'm so lucky to have people like You Dear, Dear Paul in my personnal life time ! 🙏❤️
Happy birthday!
Masterfully spoken. The chewing gum was by the numbers too.
The Beatles were always cool
this was the instagram live that lasted the longest that paul did these days
Ooh. Tortured joke
They should collab while they still can lol
Very, very cool!
I see that Ed is sporting the Thom Yorke look these days!
Geriatric ?
How about THIS? Today, here is the 19th. ~four days after. And Sir Paul was in L.A. ~100 miles from here.
Amazing!
Paul McCartney , Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da Life goes on
Thanks for all the memories!
Macca with the old cake chestnut to be able to get on with his day...! Haha 😄
We all do it......"anyway, I'll let you go and..."
That was great
I wonder if Ed has, in the back of his mind, that this Paul might be the replacement that appeared in 1966.
This is great

Lovely dudes and dudesses.
Paul is trying new contact lenses. He looks great with that bottle green contact lens.
@35:30 starts to say we got stone..d Talking, anybody else clock that?
16:57 Here we go again
Well I was sleeping you know
He is the Bryan May of Radiohead
also Roger waters """"
Paul Mcca """"
Jimmy page """"
well thats my top5 all time bands
Fantastic. This satisfies my Gemini being friends thing hugely
28:15 everybody want to know if McCartney has perfect pitch. Thats the opportunity. Was that a D?
It was a ever so slightly flat D. He was closer on his second “dwooom” than his first. I’d say he probably does.
Yep it's a D. Perfect pitch is not really a gift in any case. Not even sure it's a sign of musical ability.

I wish he’d let McCartney talk more...
Nah. I like that someone actually had a conversation with him.
Where's the gang of girls. Been single for 7 months here. If was Paul McCartney it be so simple...
Ladies and gentlemen, Like Mick Jagger - Once he is gone, he is gone - Cherish legends NOW while we can!! All the legends will be gone soon. Then we will be left with who - Miley Cyrus?
Bands who started as kids? Japan, TFF, i'm sure there were lot.
>TFW No Thom Yorke Paul Mccarney collab
Paul is always married whenever I want him. 😥
Nice video but it’s clear paul hasn’t seen interstellar. !
british music are the best

It's not an interview though. It's a conversation.
"interviewer" his names Mr Ed O'Brien, get it right! 😤
What happened to his eyes?
I hate to ask a stupid question but who is this Ed?
30:29 anyone know what this is? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
