If the roads were very busy, I wouldn't be keen to drive a little kart. More likely a Scooter style centrifugal clutch with belt & Variator , rather than proper CVT
Yeah, it can make you a little nervous with big trucks going past, but in all honesty it's no worse than being on a bike. Not sure on the transmission, I would assume a belt and cone type design, but functionally it makes little difference, I just wanted to highlight that there's no gears to worry about.
