    You did mention it's not a closed course but surprisingly there's no helmet requirements.

      They're effectively ultra-small cars, in legislative terms, so get treated like a convertible car would in that respect e.g. you have a seatbelt). Though I think there have been some mutterings about saying helmets should be "recommended" to people hiring them.

    Wait, they have costumes for Mario characters as well as a Pikachu costume? I thought they stopped using those because it got them into a lawsuit by Nintendo.

    If the roads were very busy, I wouldn't be keen to drive a little kart.
    More likely a Scooter style centrifugal clutch with belt & Variator , rather than proper CVT

      Yeah, it can make you a little nervous with big trucks going past, but in all honesty it's no worse than being on a bike.
      Not sure on the transmission, I would assume a belt and cone type design, but functionally it makes little difference, I just wanted to highlight that there's no gears to worry about.
