AFRES KC 135s Elephant Walk Grissom ARB - Stratotanker Takeoffs Airailimages

Eight KC-135R Stratotankers assigned to the 434th Air Refueling Wing participate in a "Formation Friday" elephant walk, June 7, 2024, at Grissom Air Reserve Base, Indiana. This Hoosier Wing is the only active Air Force Reserve Command unit in Indiana, and is aligned under Fourth Air Force.
An elephant walk is a time-honored tradition in the Air Force, dating back to the long processions of heavy bombers, nose-to-tail, heading out for takeoff on World War II missions. A lot of moving parts are involved in launching multiple aircraft quickly, and elephant walks are periodic checks of a unit's ability to muster its aircraft for flight.

Awesome video! I live in Kokomo, just 15 mins south of Grissom and see these beautiful relics fly over all the time! I really miss seeing the A-10’s that were stationed there back in the early 90’s!😢
