According to the above descript the AF intends to use the F-15EX with a single pilot. Why burden the pilot when they could have a 2nd pilot aboard to operate the many systems for fighting? Otherwise, a beautiful aircraft.
Just my guess -- the Oregon ANG has an intercept air defense mission that can be handled by a single pilot. If air-to-ground and other advanced targeting options are used later, I bet they will go to a 2-person crew.
@@airailimages Pretty much all of the first batch of EXs are going to ANG units to replace F-15Cs. Rumors are that down the line F-15Es from the active side will get replaced by EXs for the 2 person crew multirole mission.
